- Hi guys! Today I am making some tiny pockets from pocket size dictionary pages. You can use any size page, but these ones are a perfect size to use in your mini junk journals.

Thank you Karen! The fun thing about these little pockets is filling them with tiny tags etc. Oh I just love tiny journals aswell. Oh, I just love these. It is so refreshing to see you up-cycle books and magazines. I use a stamp magazine I find here in the US. The thumbnail images from the UK card making magazines are also great for tiny tags and tuck ins. Thanking for sharing. You have made my day. 💜🐞

This is brilliant. I have a lot of dictionaries and technical manuals that have very tiny type, and this will be perfect for making items that don’t overwhelm the tiny fonts.

I made a stack while watching you. It's great to have a whole bunch made up ahead of time, just like you said (though I don't make 50-100, maybe just 20 or so). I love the little letters and items you have from the catalogs, just delightful!

I really love the German stamp catalogues the best. They're full of gorgeous pictures of stamps, emvelopes, postcards and some also have really old coins and ephemera. They're just perfect for junk journals! 🙂💚

Thanks Nancy! Haha I know right!? I love tiny things too, especially tiny food and junk journal stuff lol. I squeal with delight when people make those teeny tiny envelopes and tags . I haven't made a teeeny tiny journal in a while. I made an elephant journal in a box back in 2018. Oh my gosh time flies! Hehe I always go for the vintage photo! Actually one time I did make some colourful pockets. There is even video evidence lol. I think I inked them pink, some purple and some blue from memory. It was colour overload and I think I had to go lay down afterwards 🤣🤣💙💙

These are great little pockets!!!!! I was trying to rip out a page from a book so I could make one with you!!!!! They are great for, like you said, working while watching TV. When you have the routine going, you don't really have to think about it!!!!!! I like the extra piece behind to make it wider!!!! Take care Bonnie!!!!!

Doh! I read your second comment, went and looked at your video and pictures, but then when I came back to reply, I can't find your comment with the link. I think Mr UA-cam is playing games with me again lol. I love those stamps! Even though I sew, I kind of want to get some of those stamps now lol. I think they are great for things that we can't sew on, like tissue paper and other thin paper. They actually look like real sewing!! 😄💚

It can be difficult to make stuff from nothing without all the pretties, but I really love the challenge! My most used craft supplies seem to be book pages, old clothes (for fabric) and food packaging cardboard lol. Love the pockets and where did you get the mini postcards?
Thank you so much! Those little postcards were cut our of an old stamp auction catalogue. My father is a life long stamp collector and gave me a few of his old catalogues for crafting. They're full of pictures of postage stamps, postcards, letters, ephemera and sometimes old coins. If you come across one in a charity thrift store, grab it, because they are so handy for embellishing junk journals and making ephemera. The German catalogues are especially nice. Their old stamps are really beautiful and vintagey looking, and the catalogues are so thick that one will last you ages! 😊💚

Thank you Tammy! My dad is a life long stamp collector so I'm lucky to have wrangled a few off him over the years lol. You may be able to find one online hopefully. They will get harder to find eventually as I think alot of the auction houses are moving to digital catalogues which is a shame. If you find one, you will love it! They're so full of gorgeous pictures of old stamps, and some also have coins, envelopes, post cards, letters and old documents. The only thing I don't like is when the pages have stamps on both sides of the page, because it's so hard to pick which side to cut up lol 😄🩵💚

Thank you so much! So happy you like them! I just love tiny pockets and tiny tags. Soooo cute! The dictionary I used was one of those pocket sized dictionaries. My pages are approx. 7.7 cm x 11.2 cm (or 3 inches x 4.4 inches). But don't worry if you don't have the exact size; any size will work and they all turn out cute 😀💚

what colour distress ink are you using please
Hi Debbie! For these pockets I used Vintage Photo, but sometimes it might look a bit darker than usual because I use the same inker when I use RIch Cocoa colour aswell, and some may still be on the sponge 😊💚
I was making too many too so I reduced them to 20 of everything I make now
Hehe it's funny how we can get into mass making mode so easily lol. I usually end up making so many of the one thing because I am trying to use up that whole book or whole tub of scraps or whole piece of fabric etc lol. 😂💚
