They sleep in nests or dens that they create or find in trees. Ground squirrels stay on the ground. They are burrowing animals that dig holes in the ground to stay warm. Depending on the species of ground squirrel, they may even hibernate in their homes throughout the winter.
We had the same thing happen with our GoPro as your backpack... looked behind us and it and fallen off...found it though!....nice idea using the Velcro to keep the poles crossed.... we just use bungees on our gear vans that seems to work just fine....also like the quick release of the harness! Cheers to new friends Colleen and Jonny from Michigan!
Dude some of your other videos are getting better traction. One thing I hear if people start to watch your video then turn it off not seeing until the end the algorithms start to hurt you in the ratings I hope you keep your videos going you have a great presence and I enjoy your work I know it takes a lot of time good luck and God Bless Ill keep checking in with you
Thanks Greg!! Just got home from filming my next video! Should be ready by early next week! I had jury duty so I missed a week of filming 😞 but I plan on having a video a week!
Kenny Baum sled🛷! I live in LA where it never snows and I still found your vid fascinating as always! Loved how you did this project outdoors instead of in the garage. All that stuff you bought reminds me of isle 12 at my lowes 😁
Looks like the sled is going to work nicely for you. That would have sucked to have to make it to camp and find out you had to go all the way back for your backpack. I stumbled onto your channel and so glad I did. I can't wait to watch more of your trips
Nice job man! Looks great. I'll have to do an overview of my sled on my next trip, it's very similar to yours. Also you got the X3! You're gonna have a lot of fun with that. Looking forward to your next adventure. Take care Kenny. 🤙
Thank you! I think it turned out great! Just hope it performs well haha never know what will happen when ya get out in the field. Just got the X3 stove now waiting on the tent! 😊
You are inspiring ! Keep it up! Can’t wait to try this myself. I think we are near each other - based on the landscape - in the same half of the state anyway! See ya out there!
So glad you found it useful! I think it is going to be of great use 😊 I love my bbq kitchen lol I have another UA-cam channel where I do a lot of cooking on it ua-cam.com/users/baumgrillinzbbq
My Otter is cracking and falling apart after like only 2 Winters. I have the next size up and use it for dragging firewood around my property by hand. It takes it pretty hard some days but I expected a lot more durability from it. I'll buy a new one but will reinforce every corner and point that broke one my current one before using it.
Have you ever thought of adding skis to the bottom? (raised up of course)... like how ice fishing communities does it "Smitty Sled", basically same thing but reason why ice fishermens add skis is because they pull/ glide so~~ much easier, smoother ON snow. You should check it out.

I've been toying with this general idea but have NO mechanical aptitude. You made this very straightforward & simple. The video was made very well-it was organized & concise. OUTSTANDING!!!
Kenny... I absolutely love this video. super easy and cheap. I got my jet sled today and I already went to the hardware store. It looks like it's been working well. Is there anything you'd change about the design now that you've had some time with it?
Thanks! Yes it has been working really well! The only thing I would change is having a better attachment than the carabiners. They tend to come off easily especially when turning. I’ve thought about putting tape around it but would have to redo it every time. Any ideas?
Sorry I should have specified. It’s the attachment at the sled that comes off. The carabiners that connect to belt are just fine. A locking carabiner would do the trick! I’ll definitely be getting some as well 👍
@@BaumOutdoors let me know how it works out! Also I'm not sure if you saw, but I sent you a PM with a question. You may not have seen it. If you have a chance take a look. Thanks and God Bless.
Can’t wait to get this thing out on the trail! More camping videos coming soon!

Good job Kenny. That'll be a big improvement. Looking forward to seeing it in action
Thanks Peter! Can’t wait to get it out on an adventure!
That was fun. I love seeing other's DIY ideas from concept to fruition.
Thanks! If I can make it, I like to do that rather than buying it!
Comment for the Al Gore Rhythm Mr. Baum. Love ya brother, God Bless you and your beautiful family.
Great video. Your enthusiasm is contagious. The sled setup looks nice.
Thank you so much! I really enjoy making these videos, I have a lot of fun!

So glad you found your GoPro! Nothing worse than retracting your steps to find lost gear haha! Thank you Colleen and Jonny!
You got the bigger Winnerwell! You’re gonna need a big hot tent for that one!
Good pulking!
Yes I am!! Haha working on getting a bigger tent 😊 can’t wait to use the stove!!
Very well done, clever how the orange cord extends under and around the sledge‘s edges. Also the belt clips.
Ya I think it will work well! Very excited to get out and put it to the test 👍
Just came across this. Very nicely done, great detail and thank you for showing each step in-depth.
Here in germany I'm happy to even see snow once a year if I'm lucky. Would love to do what you are doing in your adventures
I’m very blessed to be able to play in the snow! Hopefully you can get out and travel to a place that has some snow more often.

Thanks!! Definitely give it a try! Very simple to make.
That thing is slick man, great build!! Now you just need some snow shoes! Bungee cords will be a good simple way to hold your gear down.
Thanks! I think it’s going to work very well! No more losing gear while pulling the sled 😂
Looks good ,good luck thanks for sharing 👍
Dude! Didn't know you had two channels. Good to know. More content is always good. I'll check out your outdoors stuff as well now.
Ya I decided I needed to split the channel up since I was doing a lot of outdoor stuff on a bbq channel lol I’m really enjoying it a lot! 👍👍
@@BaumOutdoors I think they go hand in hand but I see your point. Good luck building this one up!!
Thanks I appreciate it!
This is great. We are going to use the idea. Thank you for walking us through.
Now lets talk about your BBQ kitchen? Will you do a video on that?

Put some skies that that great idea and you have an even better sled. Thank you for the tips and idea

Thank you! I hope it helps in some way. It’s going to be a great piece of equipment 👍
Looks good Kenny. I think the sled needs some fpv stowage 😉
Fpv stowage for sure lol
PVC becomes brittle in cold weather, best to use fiberglass poles. Been using fiberglass for over ten years, haven't broke one yet.
Good point!
My harness is a yoke type worn over the neck and shoulders, easy to put on, easy to remove and can take on heavy loads with ease.
Interesting! I need to look into a different type of harness myself 👍
Great video! Will that H harness you used fit a guy who is 6’5” ? does it extend enough? thanks
I’m not sure that it would. But they may make larger ones.
Is that the medium or large sled?
It’s a medium sled I believe.

👏👍👌hey should have had some elastic in the drawstring so it will be more comfortable to go with😃🇳🇴
Great idea!

Great vid.. 👊🇺🇲🤠
Thank you! I’m excited to give it a try soon! 👍 🇺🇸⛺️
Love it !!!! AWESOME
Thank you!
Otter sales a very nice cover
I will look into that. Definitely would be a great addition to the sled!
THUMB UP EVERYTHING EVEN MY OWN HOPE THATS COOL LOVE YA BRO BAUM OUTDOORS!!!!
Thank you 😊😊👍
WE ONLY LIVE ONCE ! ! !
awesome that's good need something like that thanks a lot
It works very well!! Handy for many things
Good one! I'll bet that's going to make life a lot easier. Now maybe you could make another with wheels.
Cool idea
Thanks! I think it’s going to work well 👍👍
👍👍👍
👍😊👍
Why did you have to cross your poll's??? I don't think those things
You just pushed on your belt, will work.
Crossing the poles give you better handling of the sled 😊 it tracks better that way!
No lo había visto. Jaj.
Saludos, amigo.
Gracias por mirar a mi amigo!
Why those plastic tube for me it’s just embarrassing, just rope will do the job 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
The tubes help hold the sled at a distance. So if you are going down a hill the sled will not slide into you 🤷♂️
@@BaumOutdoors this is a good idea finally y didn’t see it like that. Thanks
