#Vinesauce #Vinny #TF2
Gonna leave a quick explanation comment for those out of the loop with TF2 and its botting issue:
Yes, Sydney is a part of the bot problem; they have bots named after themselves and the bots in question seem to primarily target KOTH maps - especially Harvest, though I have seen videos of them on other maps on different game-modes such as Payload.
megascatterbomb is indeed a UA-camr as Vinny says in the video - megascatterbomb has been working on their own anti-cheat with hopes to combat the rampant bot + cheater problem; not end it mind you, but make it more difficult for bots and cheaters to ruin games. A bot hoster is using megascatterbombs name on the bots seen in this video to slander and/or frame him; they seem to be only confined to Australian/Oceania servers from what I've seen.
Additionally, the reason why Vinny constantly gets kicked immediantley from servers (aside from being mistaken for a Vinesauce bot) is because the bots are programmed to call votes on humans so that more bots can flood the server - they are also programmed to deny any votes in the event that one of them is threatened to be kicked from the server, so long as there is more than one bot on the team in question.
It's a mix of two things from what I can see: they find the disruption of matches fun to watch and they're doing this in a desperate attempt to gain attention and unfortunately; due to how widespread the bot problem has become, they've gotten all the attention in the world.
The bot hosters that are doing this are basically internet trolls - they crave any sort of attention; positive or negative, which is why so many of the bots are spamming links to their hosts own personal social media pages, personal Discord servers and/or websites run by them.
I'm sure there are other bot hosters out there with their own agendas, but the primary reasons for why there are so many bots in TF2 to begin with is for their own brand of fun and for them to get attention they never received from their friends and family.
In layman's terms: Some men just want to watch the world burn.
@@ThreeHundred_Thirty_Three No reason for conspiracy theorizing. In addition to everything thebogieboy said; Valve has made it pretty clear through inaction that they aren't particularly interested in doing much about this, and whenever a game becomes known for lax anticheat it's like a magnet to trolls. Same thing happened to games like BFV and GTA 5. If you don't fight them they turn it into their personal playground.
ive seen MSB bots outside of aussie and oceania servers
@@Odyanii You can't really do anything about this, Cheaters and Bots can at best be dragged down to top players in level of skill. Sniper already suffers from that though since there stopped being ways to reliably tell. At that point you can never verify and since so much of the community sat through the cheating issue they will naturally assume.
I love that this is such an ongoing problem that it needs extensive documentation like this. Thank you Valve for your tireless care and maintenance of this beloved game.
Predicting everyone thinks hes a bot cuz the bots have stolen his in game appearance
No, the bots spam votekicks if the bot hoster has paid for premium for each one of them. It's why getting rid of them by kicking them first is imperitave.
they arent subtle at all about being bots either
You are correct.
bingo
It's hilarious because he knows it happens, knows people are impersonating him, and this is the SECOND time he's been kicked because he wanted to fuck with the settings
I predict the bots kicked him, these days bots have been annoying as fuck
tf2 botters will go down in history as one of the biggest type of losers who have shared our soil
Living on welfare isn't a moral failing. There's so many more relevant things you could criticize channers for lol @stellarstar6553
@stellarstar6553 4channers?
@stellarstar6553 4channers like Vinny? did you forget, smart guy?
And easiest problem to fix by TF2 devs. But refuse to.
Bruh you can't blame everything on 4chan. Hell Vinesauce use to be advertised on 4chan all those years ago. @stellarstar6553
For those of you considering getting back into TF2;
Just play Community Servers.
Uncletopia without a Halloween map list during Halloween is not what I want to play during Halloween
@@batofdestiny I don't even like Uncletopia. There are servers that run Halloween maps, even off-season. On top of that, they also run Community made ones that aren't added to the Casual rotation yet.
Or be European and play casual without bots
In which Vinny is continually booted from this plain of existence, screaming 'I'M SENTIENT' in chat as he goes
For those who haven’t followed TF2 lately, some of the times that Vinny here got kicked was because the server was infested with bots and will try to kick any human player as quickly as possible, and other bots in the same team will vote yes. This, plus other cheaters have been doing this a lot, with pretty much every class, despite most of them being snipers with the same weapon and cosmetics of various usernames and all different accounts. It has not changed since 3 years ago, and official Valve TF2 servers still do not have a proper way to VAC/ban those using cheating software. Community servers have plugins and other things that have worked against cheating bots/people, I’m just sad that hasn’t been implemented in regular casual/competitive matches
People love to blame the source code leak, but the bot crisis has been a thing since and the direct causation of the Meet Your Match update. The bots were here the day of.
There's also the fact that there are bots that imitate Vinny's steam profile with the same name and profile picture lmao
@@ckorp666 People said that hiding the community servers would kill the game, then they said doing automatchups would kill the game, then they said Man VS Machine would kill the game. And yet what really did it was just... Negligence.
@@VulpesHilarianus core game is too good for the game to die yet but honestly the matchmaking and competitive mode thing was the worst update ever
so where should play? faceit?
1:01:18 The Family Guy death pose. Also it's always fun seeing Vinny react to the new things adden into TF2 even with all the bots running rampant.
"im real"
Exactly what a bot would say.
The weirdness of Halloween is the PERFECT vehicle for bonkers TF2 content- especially when the source already has stuff as wacky as a haunted bumper cars arena.
Happy Halloween!
halloweing
I'm really happy he played the Halloween update and that I could see the premiere! I sent in the request for him to play and gave him a list of maps to check out including Laughter, including where to find the Vinesauce references. In case anyone was wondering, the Jerma reference was a sign titled "J. Elbertson's Robotic Sideshow." It's too bad he kept running into bots though. Wish Valve would do something about them.
21:06 epic sick kill!
I log in and the first thing I hear is “Everyone has gone to the underworld. I’m jealous”.
Megascatterbomb is in fact another youtuber who was targeted by the bots because he's trying to make his own anticheat.
"i will not get a single kill like this, mark my words"
*IMMEDIATELY gets a single kill like this*
Just so you know, they are named megascatterbomb because that is a real person making an anti cheat client for TF2
No hes not lmao. Keep dreaming.
@@victor-hw7gv he said it himself that he was making an anti-cheat to combat the bot issue better, are you perhaps one of those people who hate him?
@@Marathon-7So? That doesn't mean that a botter can change his username to megascatterbombs username.
@@vanjavicko20 Steam lets you pick a display name even if it's already taken

The real Halloween spook is that the very game you're playing is a zombie.
Tf2 is one of my most favorite games. Such timeless characters. Thank you for playing! :)
Never before have I wanted a prerecord to be a live stream so I could tell Vinny through chat what was actually happening. He was so naive to what was going on, and I was like that one Interstellar meme of the dude screaming into a window unable to be heard.
The "i can identify light poles" joke had me rolling
the reason for you being kicked was because the bots in the lobbies, they fill them then kick any non-bot
21:05 random vinny god gamer moment
Its always nice to see Vinny play tf2 but man that bot crisis just keeps getting worse and more vicious
The real Mann vs Machine situation
The worst blow was the removal of F2P communication. That change made me leave TF2, because what is TF2 without communication? I can't call out spies, "POOTIS", or just talk.
@@scrittle I miss that
@@scrittlewhy'd they remove it?
@@aamikamm To stop bots from mic spamming and destroying chat with malicious links. They possibly spammed "Medic" too, however I still don't know why voice commands were removed.
There is a drop-down "View Maps" under each map group, e.g. at 09:25, that allows you to select/deselect exactly which maps you want to queue into.
Appreciate Vin showing some love to TF2 and TF2 fans.
Dude that midair shot was badass!
*FOOL. FIND THE GARGOYLE!*
playing casual is like pulling teeth, especially at this time of year
feels like a slap in the face every time you feel like coming back to this game, best hope would be to stream it and just open a server for a little bit like Limes does sometimes
Vinny got the real tf2 bot experience
even with text chat off you should still be able to use 'say' in dev console followed by your message
Maybe Vinny should bring a friend next time to explain some stuff he may not know like how the featured maps are usually botted to hell and back.
Vinny got voted kicked from the thumbnail at 24:11
There aren't any photoshops of Jerma, only evidence of his true, monstrous Cryptid form.
Nice to see you enjoy the weird wacky and rather interesting halloween stuff, despite bots attempting (and fairly often failing) to ruin the fun (new gimmicked modes further cockblock sniper bots, like the non-headshotable salmann and zombie gamemode confiscating their guns on death.)
This year's halloween was pretty interesting, the most unique and new stuff TF2's had in a long time.
The "Perks" map is quite unique in rounds. TF2's never had a map where the teams vote on the buffs they get each round- continuing into the next until the best of 3 completes.
Some perks synergise too, great to promote teamwork
As for some maps like Corruption and Sandcastle, doors and/ or coffins open only during a match, not pre-match, and there might be end-of-round things.
Spineyard had Mafia Skeletons which use SMGs that look like mafia ones. Skeletons never used to have guns before, so that's new.
Mannsylvania has no boss fight, but the Mercs are blood delivery to dracula.
Zombie Infection definitely takes time to sink it's teeth into you, so it's fine that it didn't work out as well for you.
It's more enjoyable with more time played, and it's intense how quickly the Human team can collapse after a few deaths.
Oh, and Sanitarium had functional ladders. Dev made them be extra paths to climb.
At least you got to see enough of these things.
vinny, as a tf2 fan, im sorry for the experience
Don't tell me he went through this entire video without even activating the first Halloween contract . I'm sure Vinny doesn't care in the slightest though lol but seeing that contracts available button on the screen is getting to me more than it should.
That’s rough buddy. 😂
have you watched the previous videos? he unfortunately doesnt know how to activate contracts, nor does he care. too bad he wont ever play tf2 live ever again outside of private servers
33:10 vinny just so you know, the bots can talk and they do say they are real people.
21:06 Vinny becomes a were-Watto
33:09 you just read my mind lol
im tired. i hear the first 2 seconds of this video and thought the OST was Death Grips - Takyon playing in the background
What? He played the halloween update? I hope he played Los Mueretos or Crasher. Those maps are really freaking cool. Especially Los Mueretos.
the new maps this yr sucked tbh. only 1 im a fan of is the sandcastle map, even if its just a reskin of medieval. dont get me started on the half-baked zombie gamemode 💀
Corruption is pretty high tier. randomized underworld layout.@@rey.jazzzzy
@@rey.jazzzzyI heard the zombie game mode is pretty fun now that the zombies have been buffed.
@@hooraw7760 It's pretty hard to win as the survivors now. I enjoy the mode, but man is it annoying to survive on them.
@@blobbem Thats how it should be imo, its more fun if the survivers are the underdog over the zombies. Remember how on most maps, survivers just camped at a spot on the map and the melee only zombies with no access to blast jump physically could not reach them.
There were times were the best play was actually to go heavy and sneakily try to taunt kill someone.
Veinyplumpsauce IN FULL ACTION
The best times to play imo are during the day times as at night when there are less players active the bots swarm like crazy. With more players, there's less bots so if vinn is playing this late at night that explains the outrageous amounts of bot infested servers he's getting. In my experience I've never gotten this many bot infested servers and usually the players are able to sort em out most of the time. Only sometimes are the bots just so overwhelming.
Also fuck that spy in the first zombie infection map, lol. They did that exploit where proc'ing the dead ringer and kill binding nearly together confuses the game into think there are still players left and just prolongs the round till time runs out. They did atleast patch that out a week ago so this video is a week old atleast when the bots were really ramping up too.
All on all, this was just bad timing for vinny.
just bad time AT ALL to play ANY casual server. ANY TIME
What could stop the problem is an anticheat not made in 2007 at the latest
The reason you got kicked immediately was because the entire team was bots
Man what are the chances I queue up with him like that lmao. I couldn’t think of anything to ask him though. I almost asked him when the next episode of Grey Leno would be
Should've asked him what his favorite color was.
35:31 quacking
"Now that's quality" - Demoman
YESSSSS, Halloween TF2!
Valve could at least try adding a captcha before every match.
or they could just mute f2p players (including voice commands) for no reason, add some more shitty cosmetics, a bunch of terrible maps, and bait the community into thinking they're gonna fix the game by adding a community fixes tab to the workshop then not actually add any of them.
This has been discussed before: it would be futile, because there are web services that you can pay for to be able to send CAPTCHAs to other people around the world and have those people complete them for you. And given that these bot hosters have already been willing to spend money to setup and host these bots in the first place (whether it be through buying Raspberry Pis or running them on some external service), as well as hide their IPs with VPNs, a small fee to bypass CAPTCHAs wouldn't really hit them hard.
@@Wryyyong we won't be paying for captcha lmao. It's not gonna work because Erik is a lazy mfer who can make bot fixes only if the community would give him a code to paste.
@@vindanger5759 and then part of the community praises valve for putting slightly more effort into their updates (even though most of it was done by the community anyways)
I didn't know the bot problem was still this bad, I'm in the UK and I barely see bots anymore
To answer Vinny's question half way through, the botters get gameplay experience that unlocks random items into inventory that can be sold in the steam marketplace
vinny vinsauce i heard you asking for a solution to this team fortress bot crisis and well i have that solutoin for you, COMMUNITY SERVERS.. you can find a decent experience and all u gotta worry about are hackers with good configs
This video just makes me sad. I wish Valve cared, even a little
Sometimes I forget that there's TF2 players who have never read the comics (or even know they exist), & that there's actual in-lore explanations why Demoman's missing eye, a bomb-themed Necronomicon, & a wizard are all Halloween bosses. (TL;DR: Blame the wizard. Sort of.)
Vinny definitely should change his profile on Steam now, so actual players can stop confusing him for one of his robotic impersonators.
57:02 STANDING HERE I REALIZE YOU ARE JUST LIKE ME TRYING TO MAKE HISTORY
Do not forget to check food in the oven
I didn't know zombie mode let you change classes once you died. I thought you were stuck with the class you had as you died, making you need to strategize your classes for what may happen once they fell
That would be an interesting concept but the ADHD Andys would complain. I’m sure community servers will tinker with this mode to great effect.
> pick sniper
> barely contribute while alive
> dies
> wins the game as zombie
In the spirit of halloween (and not the costume store) TF2 being a ded gaem is sadly yet strangely appropriate.
after this, i guess my tf2 pause has ended
pleade doo the community server 😭😭😭
That Degroot keep map rats version looks interesting reminds me when I used to play medieval mode
there is also a giant wizard and a headless horseman you can fight
Vinny, every time he picks the cheater class: "Why am I getting kicked!?"
Vinny pls do bouns stream to check classic halloween maps
American servers seem to have so many bots! On european ones, i at most encounter a bot or two in several games.
Ironically, for me I tend to encounter more bots on European servers than American ones, and given I usually play on European servers it's a bit of an issue lmao
I have noticed, though, that the earlier in the day I play, the less bots I see, so I'm sure that has something to do with it.
the bots immitiating vinny musta annoyed him huh
Wow, tf2 never changes huh, even with big community content update the bots still permeate.
These updates seem to make the bot hosters react and put all the bots on the new mode to enact maximum suffering on all the new players as well as old. The same happened with the summer update.
@@AParticularlyPointySoldier yup.
votekick yes and no should either be swapped or be F11 and F12 for reasons that become apparent in this video
Vinny should play the Christmas mode, there's an accepted map that we fight KRAMPUS and HELP SANTA
The state of TF2
what's the Vinny's water ice gag?
FYI Vinny picking Sniper and saying "i'm not a bot" is the easiest way to get kicked
This game truly is a disaster now. Valve clearly doesn't give a shit about it anymore.
59:32
How is it possible that Valve still hasn't slapped down this horrible botting situation? There's no way they can't do anything about this.
The sad thing is that it isn't that Valve CAN'T do anything about it. those few people that still work on tf2 would probably love to have it all fixed and for new content updates to happen too. But as things are, Valve WON'T.
Hardly anybody at Valve cares to work on TF2 these days. Less than 5 people at any given time. The way the company's organized, Valve developers are free to work on what they want to, for the most part. People would either have to want to work on TF2 versus any of the other shiny newer projects they could also work on (which will themselves likely never see the light of day, knowing Valve), or there'd have to be a company-wide mandatory All-Hands-on-Deck push to get something done with TF2.
The problem with botting is that it's kind of a cat and mouse game. You stamp out one way bots can exploit the system to ruin everyone's fun and then the botters find some other exploit and do it all over again. On and on it goes. The dedicated fans still play TF2 and buy things despite the minimal amount of manpower dedicated to working on the game, so Valve still makes money, and so I suppose the higher ups/senior devs don't see any incentive spend the time, money, and resources to fix things when they could be making new steam consoles, or some new game that, again, will likely never see the light of day. The Bot developers make a fair bit of money from the weirdos willing to pay for bots, so they've got a (rather perverse) incentive to find any way possible to keep their bots running. Without a dedicated team to keep on top of it, there's not a lot that can be done.
From what I can see, TF2 isn't getting another major content update for a long time, if ever again. Not by Valve at least. And they probably wouldn't/couldn't ever officially declare the game as being Done For Good, since they do still make money off the game, and they very much fear the backlash players might bring forth if their tf2 stuff is suddenly useless and/or worthless, and the possible knock on effect that might have on CS2 and DOTA 2's economies. They've been making some small efforts to get the community more involved in certain other changes and bug fixes and the like, but that's been slow going, if it ever even pans out at all. They had a whole thing with Community Bug Fixes that was meant for the summer update but ended up not happening. It would be nice if Valve could hand the game over to some other studio or external team just to keep the game updated with more regular fixes and maybe even some fully new stuff, but who knows if that'd even be possible/practical.
there was a video recently released by somebody that theorizes that valve's horrible execution of TF2's competitive mode through meet your match and the subsequent community backlash of that and other strange decisions caused them to just give up on the game completely, leaving it in the place it is now. the more i think about it the more it seems plausible that its less a case of valve ignoring/not caring about the game and more a case of valve feeling like they fucked up too much and can't reverse the damage they caused, and just cut ties and went to work on projects that didnt depress or stress them out to that degree.
from a certain point they seem to have not really understood TF2's value to its community and viewed it merely as a way to compete with overwatch/other fpses and very little else. people even believe the devs don't actually play it at all, which there is substantial evidence to support that. there is also substantial evidence that while there were active devs there was practically no attention paid to community requests and/or extremely strange choices that no one asked for that ran completely contradictory to their own goals.
the TF2 community is very loud, very passionate, it knows what it wants, and it remembers Everything valve does to them. valve devs seem no different from devs at any other major studio. they only care about the new, are practically desperate to destroy the old, and when it fails at something it recoils in shame from it and never addresses it again, never has the courage or the humanity to recognize the STILL enduring love and passion the community still has for TF2. the fact that valve never seems to discontinue its legacy titles is a huge part of what has allowed this game to endure and outlast the games valve was so desperate to compete with initially. but were just dirty laundry to them now. they dont like thinking about when they wore us proudly.
@@ScurrilousSpades the only future tf2 has is tf2c or tf2s2. Valves tf2 is dead and will never recieve an update. We will still gonna host bots on seasonal updates just to remind you that you shouldn't support the company who doesnt do anything for the game with your money. Just play tf2c, it actually has a soul in it.
@@victor-hw7gv you host bots?

vinny confirmed not real
31:49 That broke my heart but in a funny way u.u
I thought that the map Vinny first checked out was added last halloween?
rough, goes to show how bad the game's current bot issues are for someone not actively keeping up with the game.
Can someone explain the water ice thing
It was kind of painful watching Vinny being so blind to the cheating bots filling all of his matches, like it took him forever to connect the dots that the spinning snipers headshoting entire teams in an instant that have the same loadouts and cosmetics were bots. I feel like Vinny needs one of his friend's to kinda be like a guiding hand in TF2 or he just gets really lost and confused.
Somebody on the summer update said that Vinny playing TF2 and navigating it is like watching a senile old man escape his caretaker; this video sways me towards that opinion.
reminder that vinny is almost 40.@@mostverticalproductions4808
Still sucks that nothing was done with the bot situation on regular servers, I still hate the Meet Your Match update for this. Also Vinny doesn’t play TF2 all the time either, granted he could’ve gone for the custom servers instead so I’m more lenient on letting shit like that slide. Upside to all this, I am happy TF2 did get an update which sparked more life into it after all this time. Also Vinny did play MvM with friends and that was a fun watch.
From what I have observed I'm genuinely concerned for his health at his age.
His memory and problem solving skills seem to be declining, it used to be funny rare one of things. It has become more common and he seems more lost even when he is familiar with a thing. I feel like he needs to visit a doctor and get this checked out.
Of course if there is nothing that can be done it might be better to not find out he has a horrible mind eating illness and enjoy what time he has left free.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 this is an unhinged take. just because he's bad at video games?? maybe mind your own business lmfao
Shame the multiplayer segment was overrun by bots, but I enjoyed the map exploration.
Just a tip if you want to keep doing these, use buddha (godmode) and noclip around, there are usually secrets hidden underneath maps.
Is the cheater problem very localised? I almost never run into the sort of stuff Vinny was dealing with here in Europe. I don't even remember the last time i was votekicked
As a fellow eurocuck, I run into bots *and* cheaters every day I play.
Love seeing someone with the grizzled veteran badge and the cheater's lament reacting to MONOCULUS! like it's brand new.
Sad to see how many people are mindbroken by bots into vote kicking Vinny on sight without even giving him a chance. Playing right into what the bot owners want.
Booyah
The recent Scream Fortress update has brought a new wave of bots. Like 3 of 4 groups of bots and the bots kick real players.
Also cause bots used to copy your name and pfp, so why not change the Nirvana pic to the vinesauce mushroom?
Just remember that the botting issue will instantly vanish the moment TF2 is not longer free to play because then VAC bans will actually do something.
It should remain free for anyone who already has it in their library because then it would only affect the botters and cheaters.
The existing bots would be drowned out pretty dang fast as often as you see them vac banned.
botters pay enough to make bots premium accounts, you think this will stop them?
People assume Vinny is a bot because some bots SPIN and Vinny is very associated with SPEEN and also GLITCH.
One of these days in TF2, he should manually spin around really fast as sniper, randomly fire, and see how people react.
*90% chance: Votekick*
*7% chance: People lol, taunt, or spin along with him*
*3% chance: DUDE, ARE YOU THE REAL VSAUCE JOEY?!*
21:07 how did he do this
21:05 FaZe binyot
This year kinda sucked for Scream Fortress but I genuinely love Sandcastle. I don't care if it's just a reskin of Degroot with a skybox, I live for that shit. I hope it's added to main map rotation.
I liked the cosmetics (especially Last Laugh, I love jesters), Sandcastle was great, and Zombie Infection is fantastic. The only bad map added in was that Gravel Pit reskin.
I never get how people can say this year sucked. We got a whole new gamemode and some new map mechanics which is more than we usually get. I guess people just don’t like zombie infection.
If you want to play TF2, play on community servers. They are always bot free, and the player cap on some is 100 now so 50vs50. Its still a lot of fun to play.
sad he didnt play Ghoulpit
Im amazed tf2 just managed to outlive every modern fps that released this days and continues on strong, yes they are bots and such, but right now they are just a minor inconvenience, im glad people enjoy the most classic fps in story so far among others
I'd sooner say it's continuing to drunkenly stagger along rather than going strong, but the fact it's still around is kind of incredible, agreed.
this is "continuing on strong?" this is nothing like TF2's heyday. this is a joke.
"outlive"
is bot infested and ignored by the devs
idk what's up with tf2 lovers (i have 1800 hours on the game) that makes them drink some terminal copium if they think Overwatch or shit like Apex or Valorant are both dead in comparison or not making money
What's stopping me from trying out TF2 again is not being allowed to communicate as F2P and the bot problem.
TF2 outlives others in a way that it's on a hospital bed with life support while Valve milks whatever money they can still get from it using community content
no way more tf2
so true
For the kicking, I'd suggest, next time you want to play TF2 in public servers, temporarily change your nickname and profile picture on Steam. You may have better experience playing. I hope to see more TF2 videos from you in the future!
