Unbelievable amount of fine craftsmanship and brute force goes into bringing these engines alive. Nothing that is broken can be just pulled off a shelf and bolted on. Takes extraordinary skills and dedication. Congratulations and best of luck in 2024 and beyond!
What a lovely video. So informative and shows what excellent work goes on behind the scenes. I don't know how you manage to keep everything going, as the time it must take for some of the jobs. So glad you are so patriotic to get the Great railway engines back on the rails. Well done to you all.
What a privilege to see the fitters/engineers realms in such detail. 😍 Thank you for taking the time and effort to record it for us. Can't get enough it. Wishing everyone connected with NYMR am Happy Peaceful and Prosperous New Year. ❤
It’s wonderful to see what goes into keeping our historic locomotives in working condition. Thank you for sharing this and giving people with no experience of this side of a heritage railway a look behind the scenes!!
the shot at 6.30 shows the middle driving axel on a 9f. if you look close you can see there is no flange on the wheels . this is called a blind tyre, the 9fs had these so they could go round corners.
A fine watch through the method of rebuilding. An enjoyable video to watch. Thank you! 🇬🇧👍🙂🇺🇸

Glorious sight, a Southern Railway Schools Class locomotive on the end of a train of carriages!!
Interesting stuff, lot of hard graft…..well done. Best of luck for 2024
I’m hoping to come to Yorkshire sometime this year, probably after July when I change my Renault Zoe for a small camper.

Interesting insight, thank you for sharing. The loco on steam test at 14m. 37s. is actually 926 and not 825.
Thanks. Well spotted. Typo in the title. :(😔.
Black Fives are not unattractive locomotives. I wish they were used more in the south!! Happy New Year!!
