    Love your attention to detail .
    I much prefer the guy that talks his way through a job , rather than just filming in silence.
    Great work , keep it up ! 😀👍🏻

    Nice work on the body lines Roger. That stripe on the door is the D90 SS option stripe. Nick (rarerat) used it on his latest 68 restoration and it was beautiful. Thanks for the tips on hanging the doors, that will be helpful. Also, I don't mind the background noise. lol

      Wes Perry thanks , yes I looked that stripe up , got all excited thinking I may have a real ss camaro... kept reading and the stripe was also an option on non ss cars 🙄

    You are fine talking, they are your videos and the more you talk the more information, experience and motivation I absorb.

    Great to see you working on the 68. The tips are a must have for all of us in the cheap seats. You’re not going to get the kind of experience you share out of a book. And if people don’t like Japanese inspired cartoon characters, well, tell them to go and play in traffic...🤦‍♂️🤔😳🧐🤭😅🤣😂🤪🙊👍🤟😎😝

    You put out amazing information. Getting ready to get going on the 72 here shortly and this information will help immensely, especially knowing just how critical the door placement is. Thank you

    Love the alignment. I know doors can be tweeked top to bottom. I have a friend who owns a body shop and he has a tool just to bend the frame of the door to get them right. The Chevelle has the same problem at the top where it meets the quarter. The door lines up respectible all aroung but goes out above the handle. I don't know if maybe pulling the handle for 50 years may have just tweeked the top frame of the door or what but I will get it right. I have my fenders on and am getting the motor running soon. I wish I had the time to put into it but soon I will make a video hopefully with it running lol later Roger. I genuinely enjoy watching your video's they inspire me to get out in the garage;)

    looks like the right hand door needs to go in at the lower hinge to flush up with the rocker and pop it out at the top of the rear quarter

    • @MrFireman164
      @MrFireman164  6 років тому

      messylaura right but the Lower door to rocker front is perfect, can’t move it in at the bottom rear and out at the top without screwing up the front bottom, however maybe I can move the top hinge out without moving the front and get the door to move in the back , I will try that tomorrow

      btw what you doing with the doors, keeping the same ones or reskinning them (looking at the bondo in the left one)

    • @MrFireman164
      @MrFireman164  6 років тому

      messylaura I looked at the inside of the doors , and they actually only have random dents here and there I think. I can strip and metal work then straight , not sure why they got so crazy with the filler but then again look at the rest of the car it was a mess

    That looks great. I would say that is weldable! I know you have some blasting to do and some more prep, but other than that it's ready! Nice work!

    Really like the strap trick …. I don't think you talk to much on your videos by the way …. there is a lot I have picked up and learned by watching and listening to your videos …. don't shut the front door !!!!

    firebird and Camaro are the same door it jut needs a little block of wood and some persuasion to help it out but it looks good. I had to tweak the right door on my bird worked on it for hours to get it just right then I took it off for some reason lol start over but I got a real good understanding on how to adjust a door.. keep up the good work roger nice to see some progress

    I made many comments about your early videos on this car. I couldn't believe you were going to replace so many panels that are integrate to the structure of the car. But here you are steaming ahead and making progress. And then you cut the roof? Yikes. Great lessons for me however, as I have learned a few things about doing metal work.

    Hah! Keep up the blabbin' Roger. If we didn't like your ramblin, bitchin, and cussin we woulda left a long time ago. Makes us all feel like home, cause you know, we ramble, bitch, and cuss too!

    I'd sooner listen to your girl's cartoons in the background than some of that obnoxious speed metal that most car videos seem to play.

      troglodyte1969 lol , I know it’s distracting but it’s kinda the only way her and I are going to get along in the shop , and If she isn’t happy ... well you know how that works

      I have a baby girl myself and actually find myself trying to identify what your daughter is watching because I have most likely seen it before. Sometimes I completely miss what you're saying and have to go back. I watch my car videos as soon as I get home from work because the evening is for the two of us.
