- JD Vance is returning to his home town on Monday for his first solo appearances on the campaign trail since being named as Donald Trump’s running-mate (Bevan Hurley writes).
He is due to appear at a campaign event in Middletown, Ohio, at 1.30pm local time (6.30pm in the UK).
The Ohio senator, 39, will then travel to Radford, Virginia, for a rally on Monday evening.

Why is this rally not televised. I only found it on you tube, what about other social media.
His delivery is plain oats. He appears inexperienced. He's not connecting. Even when he says things that are intended to be wholesome or modest, it comes across as a performance.
And just to go beneath the surface and pick just one piece of content so I don't write a book of my own here...
At 28:30 he says that Harris speaks about the history of America with condemnation. I can't confirm to what extent she does that or not, but JD should understand that if he weren't white he would probably have some damning words for certain historical figures himself. And this, folks, is why the Trump-Vance ticket is about as likely to get a solid share of the black vote as it is to give you access to Willie Wonka's chocolate factory. It's common sense.
