      It's insanely easier to lift heavy with the knee wraps and suits. If you have to tie tourniquets around your knees to keep them from blowing out in order to lift the heavy weight than technically you're not lifting the weight with your own strength and durability. It's more impressive to see this guy lift the heaviest weight possible without any assistance than with it.

      Anatomically we are, as humans, equipped with a 'conditional myotatic reflex'. This is when the brain believes, that the tendon of the muscle is about to be damaged because of the muscletonus is being changed rapidly. This reflex can be used in an advantageous manner. Especially in powerlifting, where the reflex is helping him contract the muscle tissue/the quadriceps-tendon by hitting the depth/stretch in his squat. This may be what he is (quite succesfully) trying to obtain and use.
      With the myofascial tissue around his muscles and wraps combined, he may also be able to generate both momentum and force by doing the little bounce in the bottom of his lift.

      bodybuilding is not even a sport, it's a beauty pageant 😂 Asians dominate in weightlifting, they break the most world records and have the most gold medals, look up chinese weighlifters if you don't believe me.

      @@seaweedglob dude, dont fuking pick on me when 1 out of the last 50 Mr Oly has been white or black. Asians have won many world class powerlifting events but rarely in bodybuilding. If you are an asian and you want to go the hard way to top in bodybuiding, a sport with such a low top cash prize, go ahead.

      what's funny is, chinese asian weighlifters look "better" than bodybuilders in the body game, yet they don't live the bodybuilding lifestyle 🤣😂

    I have never understood the point of equipped lifting. They use equipment just to lift more than they actually can, like what is the point in that?

    • @kahahabahaha
      @kahahabahaha Рік тому

      Originally, it was probably for injury prevention/support, but it eventually became a sport of its own when people started using tighter and more assistive gear.
      The training and execution of an equipped lift is supposed to be much more demanding than raw, since you're handling weight beyond your raw ability. But I wouldn't know, I'm just a scrub that does raw only.

    Why did he use wraps ? thought that in the IPF they only let use sleeves.

    • @trin3146
      @trin3146 Рік тому +1

      There's multiple divisions in powerlifting and he competes in equipped where wraps are allowed, sleeves are used in the raw divison.
