  • in this video I switch from a power hungry Dometic RV fridge in our travel trailer that we full time in. The old dometic RV 2 way fridge would pull somewhere around 500watts of power when running vs this new 12v iceco vl90 pro pulls less than 100watts of power. This will extend our time off grid significantly.

    Pretty sweet. I would be installing a shelf with a fridge slide at an ergonomic level in there. Use the area below it for storage, or sh*t with that low a draw, I would be installing one of the old Icecos in the bottom just to put drinks in. You have the room.

      I think we are gonna put it on a slide then build a pantry there.

    Your in Victory Texas and didn’t get fresh eggs??!! Give em a tug bud!
    Luckily you have that chest fridge. I was in the fence, but now I’m sold on the Ice Co.

    I have the VL45. My only issue is that it is about 1" too tall to fit under my Tacoma's tonneau cover. Apparently the Pro version would fit...I just need to sell the VL45 first as I don't need two fridges.

    • @SirWilliamGoes
      @SirWilliamGoes  Рік тому

      Interesting. That was one of the selling points I thought was that it fit under a typical bed. The VL45 is an awesome fridge shouldn’t be hard to sell.

    Been waiting for this video. My dometic crapped the bed, and I’ve been thinking of doing the same thing. Happy with the VL45 in the 4runner that I’ve had for about a week now, maybe I’ll go with a 60 or 60pro in the trailer. What did you do with the dometic you removed btw?

    I know you already did this, but I saw someone awhile back that did a 12v conversion on the stock fridge. It has me wondering...

    • @SirWilliamGoes
      @SirWilliamGoes  Рік тому

      Yeah I saw that too. I think by the time you change it all out you're about the same cost wise. Also these danfoss compressors are really good and three chest style is by design more efficient

    I never use AC power for my rv fridge. i only use propane, i get about 2 years use from one propane bottle for fridge only. thats crazy for me to use AC power with that kinda miles. it runs 2 weeks every month (then off2). if you do the math its not bad. but full time rv i have no idea.

    • @SirWilliamGoes
      @SirWilliamGoes  Рік тому +1

      Wait, ur getting that kind of efficiency??? I was running through them.

      @@SirWilliamGoes yes sir! propane rocks for the fridge! even way cooler than AC. i also have 500 watts of solar, but i have always used propane for fridge and cooking only. but use only one tank for the fridge and the other for heat and cookin. dont know why you had such bad luck with it, but man propane rocks for the fridge.

    Do you have solar? What is the size difference of the two fridges?
