no matter how bleak and dismal our future may look, we can always follow our dreams, no matter how crazy...
    Kudos VFS, Kudos...

I understood this short perfectly. The grave digger is sad; the way the robot just tosses the bodies in the graves, without dignity, bothers him. He thinks it's a horrible resting place. He imagines himself down in a grave (that's the black and white part, kids) and it terrifies him. So he builds himself wings and finds his own way to get to Heaven.
That's just beautiful, I loved it.

What happen if this song is used when someone dies or for funeral?

I have never seen such an amazing piece of art. This animation blew my mind away. The sounds, music, details, and feel of the piece fits together like a puzzle.
I think it in general give hope to those of us who have dreams, but I havn't heard anyone talk about it in other context. I believe this piece is relevant in many cases. Society as a whole treats most things with this mundane and thoughtless process that is sometimes not seens as such. This shows us the human spirit overcoming that.

I loved the way you can see ever inch of movement and how developed the animation was and yet still rought and rustic looking. VFS students are obviously very talented.

Very Emotional and very to the point. It makes you wonder what is going to happen when if we ever become old and forgoten. This film put tears in my eyes. Medical help, Emotional Help anytype of kindness or dignity has completely left this planet, and it is only getting worse...

I don't really see how people find this sad when he finally finishes something that he has worked on for a long time and leaves that dull and sad place for something better.

Vancouver has got the ability to adopt innovative styles of animation, that is place where greatest artists are nurtured. This short got a melancholic mood and takes the viewers into it. The Music ads up to overall feel.

Very beautiful animation. Its refreshing to see ANY animation (handdrawn or Computer) with so much emotion when I do see.

Though I can't say the style of the animation is to my taste, there is no denying that there is a very rich quality to it. I found the image of the robot hurling the dead out into pre-dug graves to be very beautiful and very haunting. I find it to be in the spirit of Studio Ghibli.

Thanks. I am an artist and the same thing happens in graphic design & advertising. I went from a creative atmosphere in college to the corporate world, what a shock. People willfully wallow in mediocrity. My company didn't want to stick its neck out and the first thing clients ask is "what is everyone else doing" to do that. Its almost impossible to believe. There should be a class on what to expect with the intersection of creative art in a corporate environment for all students of the arts.

I also saw it as a story of a man who is facing the twilight and cannot bear to die trapped and decomposing in the dark but rather free and have some sort of choice in his passing. Even if it is from robots and maggots.

well the good thing about computers is you could take 1 hand drawn charator and move it around and use the computer for the animation but still keep the hand drawn feel and look that's my point disney has lost the feel and look that we all love, remember, and miss.

theres no misunderstanding, i understand you completly, the point im tryin to get across is that its more personal preference weather you like traditional animation or 3d animation, and yes animating a drawing through a 3d program is fine, but also takes time and is quite difficult, iv tried, i studied animation in colledge, iv tried my hand at most forms of animation so i can say with expiriance that i know what your talking about and what your trying to say but i can also say its hard.
