Great content. Just bought my watch 5 days ago, these videos are really helping me utilize the features in alignment with my short and long-term goals.
Thank you for these videos. These really help me figuring out my watch. How do I turn off my alarm? Everybody I turn it off and it rings again a few minutes later...
I did a test on this and it looks like there are 2 buttons you can hit when it goes off. If you hit GPS (top right) then it will cancel/turn off the alarm for the day. If you hit the Down (bottom left) button, then it snoozes the alarm and it will go off again in a few minutes. So it sounds like perhaps you have been hitting the snooze button?
Hello, I have a problem with the alarm clock, when I set it both in the application or here in the watch, the watch does not go off for the alarm clock, does not ring, does not do anything at all, I don't know what to do next and what to do with it..😔
Here are quick links to each feature in the video: Set an Alarm: 0:25 | Set a Timer: 1:23 | Use the Stopwatch: 2:03 Cheers! [Update 1 month after making this video: I have used the timer like crazy: making tea, holding a plank, timing how long one of the kids gets a toy before they have to share it . . . fun times]
You could go into the menu (press and hold middle button on the left), then go to Settings -> Controls -> Add New -> Alarm Clock (or Timer, etc). Once you add this you can then access it by pressing and holding the top left button. Hope that helps
I agree it is rather quiet depending, especially if the environment you are in is noisy. Unfortunately the volume on the timer is not adjustable. All you can do is select whether you want the tone, vibration, or both.
I've ended up with multiple timers I don't want. How to remove them? I can't seem to find an option. Just the option for "add timer" but can't seem to reverse the process. ,,, OK found it in the manual... select it with gps button.... then select "up" button and choose delete option... if anyone else wants to know... thanks for the video.
@@olivierognn you can just follow the same instructions as in this video at 1:23. Press and hold the set button and then go from there. Your activity will run in parallel in the back ground. You can also start the timer, then press the Set button to go back to see your activity fields while the timer runs in the background. If you end up back at your main clock screen just hit the GPS button (top right) to get back to your activity screen. Hope that makes sense!
@@olivierognn Ah, I see what you mean and can understand what you are looking for. Unfortunately I don't think these features will work together exactly how you need them to for that scenario.
Yes it does. (assuming you have your phone with you and bluetooth is active and connected). It also vibrates. If you are running while it happens you can press the "down" button to read it.
@@MilefortheCamera hey sir, excuse me again but I saw 3 people already that told me the watch only vibrate when receiving notifications from the phone (sms, whastapp, etc). Are you absolutely sure that the watch makes the beeping sound? It's decicive to me. I like very much the watch, but without that feature it's not useful for me. Sorry for the inconvenience
"Chris Here" shows you how to set alarms, but amazingly doesn't show you how quiet the alarm actually is, making this feature useless. It always amazes me that watch designers have yet to figure our how to make an alarm you can actually hear in the outdoors, full of background sound, drowning out their poorly-designed buzzers inside.
Thank you! Watches these days don't seem to come with directions anymore

Thanks, Philip! Let me know if you have any questions about it that I haven’t answered in a video yet and perhaps I can make something helpful!
Good straight to the point video !!
thank you. Nice video!

Can you also switch to the time during the stopwatch function?

If i have remove the shortcut button with something else, how shall i set the alarm directly from my watch from the Setting?
You could go into the menu (press and hold middle button on the left), then go to Settings -> Controls -> Add New -> Alarm Clock (or Timer, etc).

With regards to the timer function, is the volume adjustable? I can feel vibration but barely hear alarm?

Can we transfer the saved stop watch data to phone?
Can you use the timer in some activity View?
I just tested this and yes you can! I hadn't tried this before but that is good to know. Thanks for the question!
How can you do that? Is a kind of field in a custom activity?

I need to see boat speed and countdown at the same screen, for the start of the race i need it and can’t switch the screen in that moment

would have been a great vid if you had said which buttons you were pressing at each step....
Can you tell me if the garmin instinct makes any sound like beeping when receiving text notifications or other notifications from the phone??

@@MilefortheCamera Thanks so much friend. I'm watching from Portugal! Gonna keep watching. Thanks!
