The first generations last for ever I have 2 . And the first one it's 5 years old and still works !!!
I didn’t have good luck with them. They didn’t last long for me.
They last a year tops if you hang 3.5 to 4k feet of board a day the Bush bearings wear out on them they are designed to fail I have the second gen I run it with the 1.7 ah powerstack and I love it so far very light weight it's always on me and I love how you can hold the on/off button in for a flashlight love the grip on it let's see if they last longer then the first gen had it for 5 months now
I think this is the 3rd Generation of this tool, I have the 1st Gen DC550 with the 18v Nano base so I skipped the 2nd Gen because other than the 20v Max battery the tool were very similar. Once I saw the brushless version I upgraded. Although there is nothing wrong with the DC550 still works great and DeWalt has the DCA1820 20v Max to 18v adapter.
2nd gen of the 20v
The problem with the design is the fan opening is to close to the top. So the dust always going inside and when you turn it back on it become a dust cloud.
Every single router on the market collects the drywall dust after time
I should’ve gotten the kit..I bought the tool and it didn’t come with the battery or the charger. It was $138 at Lowe’s 😩
i have not used a roto zip ever since the oscillating multi cutters came out
What sizes are the two collets?
Looks Awesome , but I never buy the Kits because of those 2.0ah batteries or they can at least upgrade them to 21700 cells then I'll think about it ...😂👍🖖
Did they send this for free? Lol
For me it's not even worth the upgrade ... The same as for the new screwgun ...
The new screw gun is totally different. It’s way better than the gen 1
@@builttoughtooltalkI think its worth the upgrade!
For sure
@@builttoughtooltalk I too think the screw gun is worth it. Especially if you bought the older non-brushless gun. One thing people look for when buying knives is the ergonomics and balance. Just looking at that screw gun, both look way better than the old one with all that handle that's never used (if you hold the gun properly). The extra modes and all are just icing imo. Although if you work in hospital or business that needs to keep running while you work, having the setting where it's push to start could be beneficial.
