    For use as a light adv bike I have heard the new poly/aluminum frame does offer as much support for soft bags and weight as the all-aluminum frame. I also heard that the 2024 Gas/Gas still uses the all-aluminum frame. Thoughts?

    Would you recommend getting a vortex ECU before upgrading the exhaust? Or should I get them both and install at the same time?

    That housing would be much better with a HID unit from 50-60-100w.

    Waiting for the 2024 501s to get to the dealerships then plan on doing a build. Desmog/get ecu/ all that. What's the status with your quick-shifter for it? Do the 24s still have the charcoal filters in the frame like my 18 500 excf had? Are there still reeds in the airbox? Could you guys post a full desmog video for those of getting the dual sports? Thanks

    Regarding the pending improvement to the fuel pick up, have you developed it and is it available? I am considering a larger after market tank but want to wait for the product that will solve the usable fuel issues. Thanks.

    Why husky over ktm for the shop bikes? Key benefits or is it just colour?

    I went to the dealership this past weekend to check one of these out and the guy who helped me said that the rear tank from a 701 could bolt right into the subframe of the 501, is there any truth to this? It would be sweet if possible but I haven't found any information on it anywhere.

      “As for power, engines are tuned the same for GasGas, KTM and Husqvarna models as they share emissions homologation. However, there are some differences in the gearing. Also, GasGas has an aluminum subframe and its own bodywork, while the Husqvarna dual sports use a Carbon fiber reinforced polyamide subframe and the KTM uses an aluminum reinforced polyamide subframe. Both bikes are about 3-4 pounds heavier than their KTM siblings and the GasGas machines carry slightly more fuel. “

    I was going to the dealership tomorrow to look at some 2023 FE 501s they have which have ~ 350 miles used on an employee day. They have some bolt on mods on them such as steering stabilizer, etc. One has had a WP Cone Value upgrade for a rider with similar weight to me. The price is similar to a new 2024. Given the changes in '24, in your opinion should I grab a modded 2023, or just go for the 2024?

    Experimenting with torque values on the chassis is a pretty slick idea! Best of all- it’s FREE! Have you tried the new FCP racing engine hangers on the new Husky chassis yet? Curious 🤔 They say they’ve done ‘a lot’ of testing & development.
    I’d be curious of how the CMT composite hangers work on the new Austrian platforms as well.
    Good show🤙 thanks as always!

    • @TACOMOTOCO
      @TACOMOTOCO  11 місяців тому +1

      Swapping engine hangars vs playing w torque values of strategic fasters often have similar results, but there’s so many variables at play.
      Chassis flex and how a rider reacts to changes is completely subjective and a set up one rider loves may be one that another doesn’t.
      But feel free to do some experimenting on your own and see what what you think

    What’s the latest radiator guard tech. I have run EE stuff and other brands on various bikes, but saw some recently for the 501 that were unusual. Seems like the first thing I break on a new bike is a radiator or radiator hose… so looking for guards or braces to put on my new 501s.

      @@Throttle.Monkey depends on the terrain, I take my 500 everywhere, there are ways to soften the vibes, cush wheel, bar mounts with gel etc. Different tyres even, it's all a balance eh, I trade comfort for what it gives in return which is utter joy in majority of my riding, there's always the nag though when I know I've got a long road section.... This is why the 690 etc are always there in back of my mind, all I can say is each time I ride my 500 I'm happy, I'm sure I'd be same with 690 but the trade off then is the weight in cert terrain, over here in UK our rides are different to USA, thus my experience is different to yours.
