Honestly, I love giving my money to Mike and his crew. I cannot find many businesses that put out so much information on UA-cam to really educate a customer, not push products and sales. They are also so laid back and cool to work with.

Excellent content Ian! You probably saw my 24' 501 at Taco Moto. I'm getting the "ultimate" build on mine and we should have a similar bike when mine is complete! In hindsight I wish I would have gone with a 23' as aftermarket parts are impossible to get for these new bikes...at least they were in January when I dropped my bike off with them. Seeing your build has me excited again to get mine...it's been a frustrating process to say the least! Thanks again for posting!
I'm also waiting for a lot of parts, I totally get your frustration. I bought my bike in December and as of today it has maybe 200 miles on it. Early adopter issues with the new generation for sure. But I think the 2024 changes are worth the wait.

I congratulate Mike on his determination to support his customer base w/USA sourced components. I recently installed a shark fin on my Beta, a known name brand (component made in the country governed by CCP) that I won’t mention, yes it needed further machine work to make it fit.
Thank you for introducing me to this true Us company . I’m too old to be riding dual sports put still appreciate knowing company’s like this are still around . Reminds me of dealing with company’s like Wheelsmith in the70s .

It's *"Helmholtz resonator"* , not "Heimholtz".
It works on sound at certain frequencies - to emphasize them like a guitar, or to damp them out.

Really great info. I've always advocated for spending $$$ on suspension, ergos, and then fueling.
I stereotype riders who throw on exhaust, spoke sleeves and graphic kits.

No need for all that. Knock out the screen in the back of the muffler, remove the reed valve from the intake and set the TPI. Did this on my bike and it run's great!
Did you dyno before and after? The ecu and exhaust mentioned here will add almost 20 HP and add tuning functions and also optional traction control.
@@BigRockMoto Just my "butt"dyno. I actually regret knocking out the mesh screen in the muffler. As much fun it is now it's too loud. Why add 20hp and then take it away and more with traction control?

Tacomoto says each ecu has different features it would be nice to describe those features and what capabilities each ecu has. They aren't cheap so in in depth review would be great on each. Does it connect to an app on the phone to see engine parameters, can you adjust rpm yourself etc etc. Would be nice to see the features.

If I installed the end cap from TacoMoto plus the ultra silent insert, would I have to mess with the mapping? This would be on my 2024 ktm 500 exc-f
it won't add much power unless you change the fueling to compensate

either will work. ECU is better.
It's illegal to change out the stock exhaust in California or to remove any emissions equipment.
Although i love to customize my bikes, there is the common sense point of view of how far you should go in “upgrading” your bike. I just seems that some of these upgrades go too far and is a waste of money.

Mike Spurgin is a hugely valuable and trusted resource with real integrity. Exactly the kind of person Ian should be partnering up with. And if they can mutually benefit commercially, even better. I'm already buying most of my parts from TM. If Ian can get a cut by helping promote Mike and his top-notch business,, even better. There are very few companies these days that I will go to bat for, but TM is one of them.
