Kratos Bowing to Brok and calling him a great Blacksmith, Brok has no idea how honourable that is from someone who bows to no-one.
As a fellow spartan of the UNSC I agree
@@GrifterTheBoyIdiot ,,spartan of the unsc" what a joke, beyond making these jokes and killing brown children for us imperialism, you also seem to have time to delude yourself
Kratos had change a lot went from a monster from the ghost of Sparta to father and good man he has got to be on the best characters ever made for a game definitely one of the most iconic
Facts!!
At this point Kratos treated Brok as family. It's sad that later he loses both him and his brother. I hope Sindri returns and is able to let go of him.
“It is a nature of thing that matters. Not it’s form” that’s what allowed Brok to see past Odin
Brok is really smart, he figured what Sindri did on his own, he also figured Odin was impersonating Tyr
He didn’t, he just saw through “Tyr’s” bullshit
He was bugged by the pretentious nature of “Tyr” and it turned out to be something far bigger
@@duckymate9555 Brok knew that something was wrong with Tyr... he knew from various stories how the man was supposed to be and he knew that even after imprisonment that should not change because it was the fundamental nature of Tyr.
He didn't knew it was Odin
He just saw Tyr bullcrap.
Brok didn't know, he just realized something wrong with Tyr's bullshit.
Sindri is actually right. Brok dying at the forge is terribly sad but that’s always the risk in his profession. Sindri defied the natural order of thing for love, but also for selfishness. Brok should have passed away and Sindri should have mourned in a healthy way.
It make even more sad considering what happen later in game.
Still ... i feel now he is a little hypocrite because he pins the blame on Kratos and Atreus too, only because NOBODY expect certain someone was inpersonating Tyr all this time. Unless you see the clean "signs" of how easier was to "find Tyr" at the begin, compared to find it him in the post game.
@@SenseiRaisen Typically you have two choices when something tragic happens in your life. Arrogance and resentment or humility and understanding . allowing people to have their initial feelings is ideal because there is a chance they can find the positive with a clear head. But arrogance and resentment is the root of all evil and the risk of Sindri going down that path is high since he very emotionally immature. The optimal way for a person like sindri to come to terms is for his friends/family to be their for him. sindri is not mature enough to be left with his own thoughts. It would be the path to ruin.
*Me currently learning to be a blacksmith*
“Ay hol’ up.”
@@kraken7353 yeah! its kinda the same path Freya was going as well too.
@@SenseiRaisen he knows Kratos is not in the wrong but Kratos did bring trouble along with him. He even takes out his anger on Odin only and goes away to be alone. He's overwhelmed by anger but still never chose to hurt his allies except through words.
Brok earned my respect, when the All-Father Kratos has bowed for him. ❄️
why you call Kratos "all father"?
@@jeffGordon852 Cuz' he is ... and have been all along on his journey ❤️🔥
@@jeffGordon852 he is gonna become the new All-Father
@@sriraam_11 What's the meaning of "all-father" then?
@@jeffGordon852 well, definitely not in a Zeus way (he is All-f**ker) but more like how your father is the one that supports, protects, and guides his child. All-father is gonna be like he is like that to everyone. This Kratos is kinda like that already plus he is a god of war and that is also one of the titles Odin has. I think he is gonna replace Odin here
Even though Brok died a second time, he died in the arms of a loved one. The silver lining here is Sindri received a proper farewell, forgiveness and closure.
Sadly brok was given no after life. Without something to return to he has nothing after his death.
@@DeviTLR I know it’s just wishful thinking but I hope there’s something we can do about that
Though it may just be best to not screw his soul up anymore than it already was
@@anthonysmith7504 i dont think there is. Appearently by looking at it, norse magic is weaker than greece
Sadly... Sindri did not think it that way...
@@DeviTLR Every party needs a pooper, that's you, party pooper
"i bow to no god"
But ... he bow to a great blacksmith and someone who can also call "a friend".
Brok did give a very honorable blessing.
A blessing worthy of a mighty weapon
Brok’s last words were,”Ya gotta let go.” Everyone feels this impact. It’s really depressing, especially seeing Sindri change like this. From a kind hopeful person,to a hateful, confused, lost person.
Kratos really has changed his younger self would never bow to anybody
Shit even older kratos bows to no one
Brok earn it a lot.
@@SenseiRaisen yeah
Not only Brok is a part of his new family, he also saved Arterus's life technically speaking.
It was because of his help that Kratos could return from Helhiem
@@MadZwe1 exactly.
@@littleman938 this video says otherwise
god damn what a quote at 3:15. young kratos was so rageful and arrogant but this kratos, man he is so humble now.
Later Atreus does the same with Kratos remembering one of his phrases from the first game, that's why Kratos feels proud.
It suits him
Such a Greek thing to say, “it is the nature not its form”
I cant imagine prime kratos saying that line 😂
I still love that version that beat the shit out of Zeus 😂
That part where Kratos kneels and asks for Brok's blessing, reminding him of his own phrase about the value and nature of things according to the philosophy of the dwarves, made my heart break into pieces and be forged again in impregnable metal. .
Sindri literally did the equivalent of going to the river Styx just to save his brother.
Sindri is the best brother you can have, Brok too.
Except he shouldn’t have lied to him about it this whole time. He should have came clean about how he brought him back because he couldn’t let him go.
Also it is a terrifying thing on an existential level to have a part of you missing that might affect how others see you and your afterlife.
That is not exactly something a good brother should do.
Not really. Sindri's actions prevent Brok from having an afterlife. Sindri did it because he did not know how to handle the loss. That is not far from being strong.
Do you know that his soul will never know rest and it will wonder forever and ever and ever and ever
When someone you love died, you have to let him go. That is true love.
What Sindri did was selfishness.
The sad part is, after his death, Brok's soul constantly wanders somewhere in the 9 realms, with no final resting place that can give him peace since a part of his soul which gives him direction is missing. It can be considered torture to any sane man out there, wandering forever, without rest, nor direction where to go. And he still forgives the person who caused all of that suffering to him.
Brok may be a foul mouthed dwarf, but he is the most loving person in the game.
...
God of war part 3: The search for Brok......
Man you made this cold heart feel sad , poor brok , he was the best dwarf ever
@Peniley Majorey Direction, which is the most important because it directs the soul and it's other parts toward the lake of souls which is their final resting place, so there is a chance of Sindri reviving Brok but without direction, all the other parts are scattered somewhere in the 9 realms
yep even mimir said that he would be denied an afterlife which really sucks
Source: you gotta believe me bro :v
Brok will always be the greatest black Smith.. but he will be missed ... sindri even though his heart has closed it self .. in time he will heal ..
I doubt sindri will ever heal. He closed himself towards everyone and felt rage towards Atreus and Kratos for being blind. He trusted the two of them and even considered both family, and broke that bond when Brok died. In his own mind, he felt betrayed. And dwarves dont disclose sensitive information to anyone they dont trust. Now we got to see the bitter side of Sindri, corrupted and full of hate.
@@mpost3520 still though .. even if he's closed off .. there is that part of him that still cares and if everyone had figured out Tyr was Odin in disguise maybe brok would have been spared but .. then again fates always played their hands and what sindri did in order to get his brothers soul back ... well maybe that was hellhimes way of cursing him ..
i just realized the only reason why the healing magic was failing, was because Brok wasn't really alive, not properlike at least. With a part of his soul stil lin the beyond, a part of him wanted to return to it.
The way Sindri peaced out after killing Odin. Felt like he didn't seem satisified.
Also a theory, Sindri's hammer could now be possessed with Odin's Soul. Although there was no Giant magic involved to make the transfer. Odin is one of the most cunning characters in Norse myth and has defied deaths many times. And since it seems like Kratos is gonna stay in midgard and rebuild the eight realms, the cycle of revenge may not be over yet.
@@mpost3520 Even Freya healed.
Bringing Brok back after this wouldn't be what he would want, but of they were to find a way reconstitute enough of his soul to let him into the afterlife, now that sounds like a worthwhile quest.
Problem being that Direction part of Brok's Soul is in Light of Alfheim. Time itself does not work normally in it so it would be ridiculously hard and greatly risky to find that soul piece without a real effect time has outside the Light of Alfheim.
Well maybe that’s why we got a bit about Kratos stepping into the light, even “Tyr” was shocked he did, maybe just maybe
Kratos have a huge respect for the guy. How he figured something was off about tyr when even mimir can't tell was a great feat. Sindri on the otherhand is really broken from his departure, we didn't saw him got better even at the very end of the game.
Sindri was the real hero because he was supposed to rally the dwarves and couldn’t. We were losing Ragnarok then he shows up alone and gives us the upper hand. He’s the only one to smash the ball with Odins soul, he had enough when brok died. Without the help of tyr, sindri took his place in battle
Also at the end of the game it’s only really been a few days dealing with all of that.
Your soul is your essence. Brok would be nothing without his soul.
And yet he was still the greatest blacksmith in the 9 realms
A great blacksmith
Brok has 3/4ths of his soul... I'm of the opinion that having 3/4ths of something is enough in the real world to mimic the whole or to allow something to 'grow back' over time.
Remember: We have people who have literally lost 1/4th of their brain IRL and they still are like they were pre-accident.
@@christopherkidwell9817 ha ha good point but, is fiction only men.
@@christopherkidwell9817
A soul in this culture isn't a singular entity, it's made up of parts. These are form, mind, luck, and direction, at least in the interpretation of the writers of the game. Brok lost his direction, it is the first part that entered the light of Alfheim because it guides the rest. Because he lost direction, when Brok died again, he cannot enter the light of Alfheim because the remaining parts don't know where to go, they're still lingering about, if not dissipated completely.
3:15 Remember when that Kratos said "Intention dosen't matter, only consequences does"? Man, this hits harder than I thought when he asked Brok to bless the weapon.
Craziest part about this in my opinion is how the entirety of these two games have been showing “atreus holding a dying Kratos” yet here’s both of the duos friends instead. The other bald and bearded character was the one to be killed. Maybe I’m reading too far into it but it feels like it was never atreus and Kratos it was always brok and Sindri in the jotnar writings. They knew Faye, the pose in the last scene even validates this. 4:20
freakin amazing that Sindri was able to do it and survive. Also amazing is Kratos KNEELING and ASKING for a blessing.
oh man the ending bits... that freakin hurts
Replaying the game from the mid-way point, and knowing what happens in the story, Kratos' words to Brok asking for his blessing made me tear up.
So brok has been dead for years
Well, a little dead. Again, he still has most of his soul but... yeah, I don't imagine it to be an enviable position
"It is the nature of a thing that matters, not it's form."
Kratos drops some philosophical bombs in these two games.
He's rather good at using a line someone told him
The funny thing is that Atreus does the same later in the game and in the same way that Kratos does, at that moment Kratos looks very proud of his son because he has learned very well what he has taught him.
Brok said it first, Kratos just reiterated the quote.
Brok: Ma'am. It would be an honour if you might... bless it for us..
Are you uh...? Hello?. Hello?... The fuck was that?
She acts like I weren't even here
Broke is most funny dwarf lol 😆
But it sad when Brok got strabbed..
The original games focused on the spectacle of being a god. It was so cool. But the new games are focused on showing the humanity in Kratos. Both great, but it’s the human moments that Kratos displays that make the new games that much more interesting to me. Kratos mentioned earlier that blessings didn’t mean much, but he did this for a friend. Great Kratos moment here.
"May it be put down when it's job is done". such a great blessing line.
this line shows that deep down Brok's heart, he is a peaceful man, he don't want the weapon to be used as it means bloodshed.
despite Brok's foul mouth and quick temper one liner, he is a wise and peacful man deep down.
I’ve always wondered why Brok is blue and his brother isn’t, now I know that part of him is dead.
I think Sindri tells us why his skin was blue in the previous game (something about working with silver I think) but this proves that was a lie
@@SifGreyfang I think that might be true, argyria is a real life condition where if the body is too much time exposed to silver dust or high amounts of silver might cause a blue skin tone.
@@kairos8183 then its why his skin is blue but not why he died
I’d say that Sindri told Brok a half-truth. Brok is smart so Sindri gave him a logical explanation for his skin changing colour that he would genuinely believe.
@@kairos8183 you need to realise that a person with that condition usually dies before their entire body has turned blue.
Brok is blue because he wasn't fully revived 😦😕
@@quaronncz464 that was a lie.

@@quaronncz464 Sindri lied to you
@@dollmaker6599 no, working with silver will cause you to become blue even in real life
@@pct4to well you gotta make a convincing lie, don’t you think?
I missed the first part of story (about how he died) because of a dumb glitch... the enemy I’d just defeated somehow did an attack a few seconds after they’d died... Sindri had started speaking and was about 3-4 seconds into his story and then bam I’m killed by a delayed attack from a dead enemy. Wasn’t too impressed as I couldn’t go back and listen to it again. So a bigs thanks for uploading this and filling in the gaps.
It goes along with the theme of the game. Sindri didn’t want to accept Brok‘s death so he went and changed his fate but he ended up dead anyway so it didn’t matter.
The funny thing is that the Mermaid blacksmith blessed Draupnir and Brok didn’t even know
If he did, I also noticed and it even seems that he knew who Kratos is after manipulating his blood.
@@dunkan0097 i mean the greek sign of war and the spartan logo were a dead give away
@@DeviTLR No, those symbols represent Kratos' origins, his divine nature, and his Spartan lineage.
@@dunkan0097 its also the Omega symbol, which was the symbol associated with war in general.
@@artorios637Curiously, the emblem of a war general is the Spartan symbol, The letter Lambda (Λ) that represents the point of the sword upwards, also represents masculinity, the omega, on the other hand, alludes to chaos and is the symbol that represents the end of things.
If I understand right brok got really screwed over considering he doesn't get an afterlife now
i think he will actually. that last part of his soul is sitll back in the lake, so its likely his curernt three will find their ways back.
@@taddad2641 No he won't, the first part became one with the light and without it the others cannot find the light, because the said part happened to be "direction", without it the others don't know where to go, like lost tourists whose guide abandoned them.
@@ultimatevtgb7551 exactly, Mimir even outright states in no uncertain terms that there's nothing left of Brok TO bring back. and he assures Atreus that if there was ANYTHING they could do about it, they'd be doing it.
Perhaps this is also the reason why the elves didnt show up in the war. Maybe they refused Sindri's plead.
They did show up during Ragnarok, they were rallied by Freyr
Only the dwarves werent there. Just Sindri
It always kinda soured me when I hear about the demise of brok and what sindri did. Alongside what happened before, sindri didn't save brok out of love, he saved him because he couldn't stand being alone, because of his weaknesses that he refused to face. But then ironically in the first part, he ends up alone because of their bickering but in the end he begins to feel loved and accepted by Atreus and Kratos he's not alone, and in Ragnarok he's got a home full of his family and friends but then when Brok died he regresses and forgets all of that even when Brok confronts and forgives him even when surrounded by all his loved ones he runs and isolates himself. I just dislike the way he blew up at Atreus when it's not his fault, and now Atreus is on his own journey so who knows what will happen with that.
I remember meeting brok for the first time in GOW2018 , remembered him saying he has a brother, and when you run into him again your meant to think it’s his brother lol, until you finally meet sindri and realize dwarves aren’t supposed to be blue.
The writing is so god damn good. I cried like a bitch at his funeral, But don’t go tellin no one I told you that.
rip brok, keep ya head up sindri .
In an odd way I feel like broks blessing cursed him. “May it strike true. May it be wielded with wisdom. May it be put down when it’s job is done”
It’s job was done but kratos did not surrender it.
So thats why he's blue
Sindri also said that Brok is blue because he uses Metal with his bare skin instead of gloves but that could be a lie by Sindri to cover up the truth
@@charliehammond8396 well sindri said right after "dont ask him about it since he's insecure" could be tryin to cover it
@@charliehammond8396 yes of course it is a lie. Cause after Brok's death, he touched metal with his hands and nothing happened
@@charliehammond8396 Yeah probably a cover-up. If the story was true, then half of the dwarves would also be blue, and then there'd be no point in shunning Brok.
@@cavidanquluyev4795 It's a lie, but "skin turned blue from silver" - called Argyria - is actually a common symptom of silver poisoning.
If you look closely at any dead dwarves along the path to the forge, you’ll notice they are blue in color. Not as vibrant as Brok of course due to the nature of him being alive, but still blue. There are clues all around and I have been wondering this since the previous game.
Whole soul, 3/4 soul, half soul?? Brok still one of the greatest blacksmiths in the 9 realms. RIP
God damn they made a masterpiece with this game pulling heart strings left and right making you care for a made up character
After years and years we can finally play as BOY
why do I get the feelin there is going to be a 3rd and final game to this particular saga....
The fact brok's cause of death is venomous bite of a spider while they're making a leviathan axe very, in the Norse myth Brokk and Eitri /brok & Sindri/ dwarves forged Mjölnir. In order to create the powerful hammer Mjölnir they must keep the ideal temperature not a degree more or less, brokk blows the bellows and Loki turns himself into a large mosquito and bites brokk's eyelid, and he stopped the bellows and due to the temperature change Mjölnir handle is broke. In GOW Brokk did not stop after bitten by venomous spider and perfected leviathan axe, but he lost his life

Brok dropped this when he was stabbed: 👑
The fact that people defend sindri is honestly baffling. Brok was in the lake of souls moving and sindri brought him back against his will with only 3 out of the 4 parts of his soul. Sindri was beyond selfish to literally deny brok a place of peace in the afterlife is just wrong on so many levels. Then have the audacity to blame atreus and Kratos for his death when he wasn't supposed to bring him back in the first place. Y'all that defend sindris or empathize with his actions are crazy
Do you have a brother? Because what you said is fucking insane. Many will do irrational things to save the ones we love. He wanted his brother back. He did it. It's a very understandable thing to do. Idk why you're so worked up about it.
@Elliot Valente yes I do I have 2 of them. I am not worked up about something said in the internet 🤣 I stated why people are ridiculous to think Kratos and atreus is responsible for brok death

One question I’ve nver got the answer to… which part of broks soul is he missing exactly … it seems like he has everything except maybe luck hence why he got stabbed and died idk idk
He’s missing Direction, hence why he cannot have an afterlife as the rest of his soul cannot find its way to the Lake of Souls
So i got a theory weve been in the soul well in alfheim what if part of his soul was in there and when atreus and kratos fell in it attached to one of them or both of them
He should accept when brok dead for second time.
The soundtrack just hit at the right moment 😢
So mermaid already blessed the spear right bcus she spoke to kratos? Brok just dont know bout it... and kratos do this only to make brok felt good but also get a bless from one of best blacksmith?
If Kratos of War was a blue, short dude he’d be Brok
Sindri he just cannot accept but he know deep down Atreus not the want to blame..he just upset.
Brok technically cheated death and was robbed of his afterlife that’s sindris consequences
Its so sad...
Sindri loved brok so much.
But it's also his fault that brok lost his soul, so after brok died, he doesn't even get an afterlife.
No wonder Sindri is so messed up by the end of the game... Imagine the guilt he feels.
Wait so not all souls go to either Helheim or Valhalla?
Humans and gods go to Valhalla or Folkvangr or Helheim if they died in battle or not, everything and everyone else goes to Alfheim
honestly, i think that's actually a pretty weak and unnecessary storyline, considering how those two were in the previous game - it comes out of nowhere and makes brok and sindri's relationship in the previous game make absolutely 0 sense
This game leaves many unanswered questions. Like it was done on purpose to leave the door open for future dlc
I don't expect a DLC, God of War games don't have DLCs. If you want answers, wait for the next game.
what question was left unanswered?
So spoilers right there in the caption. Nice 👌🏻

Why is he mad? He's still alive even though he only has 3/4th of his soul. What's the big deal?
The Lady will never acknowlege him for one. Another is Brok's soul will never know peace, it won't go into the light of Alfhiem.
Is the crawling of the souls over Sindris body the reason why he is such a germophobe?
And Sindri has the gull to blame Atreus for his essentially a deadman walking brother die again and Brok can't get to Alfheim because he was banned
WOAH I just had a theory! What if when brok "blessed" the spear, he put a bit of his soul into it.
So instead of being completely dead, he can live within the spear like the Joutans live in the stones....or something like a Zanpaktou from bleach.
