My father has had his Y for over a year now and I think I could provide helpful insight being from Ontario weather ourselves. One thing is regenerative breaking has been off a good chunk of this winter, when its too cold out its almost never on until about 2 hours of driving, then it becomes available. Always pay the extra distance in my opinion. As for auto pilot we have it and used it twice. If you enjoy driving its just an easy handle depending on your settings that you could let it drive straight without having to put too much "work" in. In my opinion overall the autopilot isn't worth IF you have ask yourself if its worth the money. I think at that point you see the 10k and if you have to wonder if you should do that *typically* means that 10k means a lot to you and you'd be better off investing/saving it. Just my 2 cents anyways! The car is great overall though :)
I've had beta for a couple of weeks now. It definitely enhances highway driving but residential and city driving is still inconsistent and scary. Thankfully I am not relying on it to get from A to B yet.
great informative video! I have heard about some phantom braking when driving during bad weather. given you have tons of experience with this vehicle, would love to hear your thoughts. As I'm waiting for Tesla to be delivered and really debating on FSD.
Thanks brother! Luckily I’ve been able to drive this car for a while and some other Tesla cars. I didn’t experience really any phantom braking which was a pleasant surprise even in these mucky conditions. I really did enjoy navigate on auto pilot on the highway, is it worth $10,000 along with the other features? That’s really up to you to decide. Coming out with a video next week on the summon capability which is also quite neat, and actually useable once in a while. Personally if I had the money I would buy it, and when full self driving does come you know you’ll be able to get support.
@@carswithsonduren Thanks for your honest opinion. My perspective is if I don't have to break a bank and I could enjoy some of the added features without trouble, I would love to go for it. I did wish that we had a subscription option in Canada as they do it in US (I would assume that they would come up with that at some point, but who knows). EDD for my car is in August (just got pushed out from May), so I do have some time to make a decision on this feature. Until then, I would continue to watch your video and some others to do more research on this FSD :)
I'm a little confused, you said the Tesla model 3 doent have full self driving capabilities today. But isn't that what you're doing now? Sorry I'm new to Tesla and trying to figure it out
The burning question is what this will do to the standard Driving Licence? I mean, at the moment you will still need one to drive a Tesla, I realize that but let's face it, considering how much the Tesla car can already do on its own now and how little a 'driver' needs to do in it, the normal Driving Licence would become pretty outdated and pointless once these cars inevitably become the majority on the road, right? I'm thinking that perhaps just some form of a basic capability test could replace it so that all someone would need to do is demonstrate that they can read a small computer screen, select modes on it, push a few buttons, stay awake, steer a wheel and push a pedal when required. Very few people would fail such a simple test unless they were unfortunate enough to have serious medical issues that might cause them to fall asleep at inappropriate times or they had really bad eyesight problems that cannot be corrected with glasses, contacts or laser treatment, those are the only things that might cause someone to fail what would otherwise be an incredibly easy test to pass. Once they pass, which most people will, they could get maybe a certificate or a card stating this which they can produce if they ever need to, that's my guess but this technology really is putting the standard Driving Licence on notice that's for sure.
Yoo this video was so freaking good man very very very interesting I’ll probably can never afford one😂😂but watch this video has really intrigued my interest on getting one so really good job👍🏽
So is there two model 3’s now or am I just lost? I saw Marques review “the new model 3” a few days ago so I’m a little lost. Is it just an updated version of this model 3? Also why did they just name it the same thing😂. Like how’re we gonna know which model 3 we’re buying
I'm thinking tesla model 3 performance is my next vehicle I just got a brand new vw golf should of got the tesla but do you have to pay a one time subscription for auto pilot or monthly payments?... thanks
Alright. I am going to purchase a model 3 with FSD because I have terrible anxiety on highways. It's a feeling of being "trapped." I can't stop and take a breath to regroup. I'm stuck, going fast with other drivers around me, and I'm trapped on this straight treck that feels like hell. Being able to (not entirely-- my paranoid ass would of course watch the road the entire time) give the car a bit of control will probably feel like little breaks to me. It'll be less white knuckle intensity. I can't wait.
Awesome you are going to love it! Where do you live? You might want to consider making sure you install a charging unit in your house. Welcome to the channel by the way. :-)
It is worth it if you are keeping the car for years. Otherwise, do subscription. I am looking to resell my tesla, and dealers are only willing to give me an extra 1k for it (if even that) yet mention it in sellers notes on cars on their lot that have it as an excuse to jack up the price on those specific one's.. so both as the person that bought it, and a buyer, you get screwed.
😂😂😂😂You all gonna be the slow ones in the right lane behind the trucks lol. This is so insane. I have no idea who would want this but ONE thing is cool. I hope more people buy this so the left lane is clear for me lmao. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
You should a comparison between ice cars “autopilot”. Eg my civic touring has ACC and LKAS, so it behaves very similar to the Tesla in this video. It cannot do lane changes though but otherwise it can do a lot of it.
This version comes with the Tesla the 12’000 one has other features and abilities which is still in beta but when I’m able to afford one I’m not going to be getting the extra 12,000 the regular one is good enough
Honestly.....yeah. After going back and forth between the two and seeing all the videos, it does look like Super Cruise is better for those long highway treks that Enhanced Autopilot is well.....yeah.
@@Boston_Pilot I have one. If you'd have one you wouldn't be talking shit without knowing. Are you blatantly ignoring the countless videos online? Some in the busiest streets in the USA self driving with incredible accuracy and smoothness??
My Lexus has active steering with radar cruise and I literally can drive an hour on the interstate while on my phone the entire drive only briefly looking at the road and the car does all the steering and acceleration and breaking. Cars are much better drivers than we are. Well worth the thousands I paid for the features.
As a daily driver on 401, 403 and QEW, this will be so relaxing to have!
Exactly. That’s one of the best features of this car!
Thinking about trading in my 2023 f150 for one of these just for that reason. Those highways suck.

Thanks for your heads up and insight. Hopefully one day soon we will get there I guess probably five or six years out.
Is it full self-driving? Probably not, but is it worth it? What are your thoughts?

Thanks LJ welcome to the channel brother. I hope you can get it if it is what you want in the future :)
Does it know when it’s a green or red light if no car is in front stopping?
Yes it does as well!
Self driving stop by itself if traffic light is red?

you can also increase or reduce the max speed by a single mph instead of jiggling the steering wheel.
Ooooo didn’t know this tip.

Hello from Prince Edward Island. I was born in Burlington and am considering buying a Tesla. Thanks for making this video. Very interesting. 😀

Wow thanks for this information good to know! Didn’t know they’re not valuing it as highly as I thought.
@@carswithsonduren it’s just a software update so they turn around and enable it at no cost to them when reselling the Tesla used…
can the car detect cars behind it?
I'm thinking of getting it the rental version for 200 a month but don't know if is worth it
Do it for the thrill. Yolo!
do you know if fsd beta is being given out in toronto?
Doubt it

What happens if you don't interact with the steering wheel when it prompts you to?
it disengages auto pilot
do you know any other car who does autopilot similar to Tesla and the build quality of car is not that bad ?
The Cadillac Lyriq which I made a video on has supercruise and is arguably better than the Tesla for the highway.
Love the coat!! Is that paint or a wrap?
Wrap!
@@carswithsonduren it’s 🔥🔥🔥. Thanks for the video!
Fun fact, they call it otterpilot because it can drive as good as the average otter.
😂

Only in the US it was increased for some odd reason.
This is giving me anxiety lol and I already have anxiety on the hwy so this would freak me out lol

Quite literally the opposite
not anymore because it learns form other peoples driving now
NOWHERE near self driving. Definitely not worth 1K, nevermind 12K.

Do you get any incentives for driving EV vehicle in ontario?
Yes there are and they are also dependent on the province.
