  • Bigfoot Man Or Beast? (1972) Full Movie | Includes Famous Patterson-Gimlin 16Mm Footage | Great '70s Nostalgia!
    Check out these reviews:
"Started off a bit rough but became a pretty fun watch once the expedition starts.
    A few items of note:
    1. Bald leader of the expedition team came off super hammy and hyperbolic at first but I came to appreciate his passion and determination towards the end.
    2. The interview with the miners and the guy who was dragged off into the night were two of the first stories I remember reading about Bigfoot. It was nice to see the people involved in them. The miners story has always stood out as one of the more interesting and powerful claims.
    3. The scream "approximation" is one of the most bone-chilling things I've ever heard.
    4. The Bigfoot hunter in Harry & The Hendersons seems to be a mix of our fearless expedition leader and the foreign fella' who said he plans to shoot the mythical furry freak from far flung fairy fails"
    Great documentary..classic 70's genius
"This movie is a great nostalgia trip to the 70's, especially if, like me, you have a fondness for 70's paranormal programs (OK, maybe I'm the only one). J. Smith narrates as we watch Robert Morgan, John Green, Rene Dahinden and a host of others discuss Bigfoot! Watch Robert Morgan's expedition into Bigfoot country (in the shadow of pre-volcano-blasted Mount St. Helens). I just love it, it takes me back to my 70's childhood, when Bigfoot, UFO's and other topics were really getting a foothold into popular culture. If you like In Search Of, chances are you will like this."
Vintage Seventies Paranormal Documentary at its Best!
"As a kid growing up in the 1970s, I was addicted to paranormal documentaries. Documentaries such as Mysteries From Beyond Earth (1975), docudramas such as The Legend of Boggy Creek (1972) and TV's Project UFO (1978) and TV documentaries like In Search Of... were the kinds of shows I lived for. Recently, while wandering around on UA-cam, I found the opening segment of one of my all-time favourite 1970s' paranormal documentaries, Bigfoot: Man or Beast? (the release date is often mistakenly said to be 1972, but it was actually released in 1975). Unfortunately, UA-cam only features the first 10 minutes of the film (you can watch the first 11 minutes 48 seconds of the film on Google Video). Apparently, you can watch the entire documentary online at The Film Wall (www.thefilmwall.com), although the poster they feature on the Website is for a different Bigfoot film and the website asks for your credit card #, even though it insists you can watch movies online for free. It looks pretty dubious to me.
Bigfoot: Man or Beast? is a beautifully made documentary with outstanding production values, compelling footage and, at the risk of being accused of hyperbole, I consider it a work of art. Sadly, this outstanding documentary has not found its way to DVD. Many of the old- timers in the film are now, alas, no longer with us, so the film is also a very important historical document about early twentieth century sightings.
The film holds up beautifully today. The last time I saw it was on TNT back in 2000. Too bad it hasn't been released on DVD, because there is definitely a niche audience for this film and I think it would sell fairly well. The location filming and gripping eyewitness accounts combine to make this a remarkable film. If you see it, do not miss it. The sound of the screaming Bigfoot in the film (based on eyewitness descriptions) is chilling and worth the price of admission."

I have seen this movie at least 20 times. When it came out in 1972 I was 12. Most of it is nonsense but I loved it in 1972 and I love it in 2023. Because, even after half a century it's pure escapism. And these days we need all the escapism we can find. Thanks for sharing.

The scariest part of this movie is that harmonica playing.

Yes, I dragged my parents from Dallas to a little town out side of Fort Worth called White Settlement to see this. I was about seven and really into Bigfoot. I'll never forget this movie. Back then Bigfoot, Loch ness & UFO's was all us kids wanted to see. Good times. BTW, my dad would seat me in the theater with popcorn a coke and candy bar while my parents went shopping......Worked for me. 😉

I hope the original film for many of these 70s Bigfoot movies exists somewhere so it might be scanned and restored someday in HD or 4K like Pamela Pierce did for the Legend of Boggy Creek.

I do too, but I bet that the negative, if it exists, will need a lot of restoration.

When I was 12, in 1973, this film played before the main feature...The Legend of Boggy Creek, at the local theater.

I found this movie a few years ago on dvd, its old 1970 style original version but it is very CREEPY ....and it solved my curiosity living in a small missouri town next to woods....😮 We have one they call "Mo-mo" the monster.....there have been stories that go back a long way about him .....it used to intrigue me, not anymore, I've had UFO experiences and large black cat experiences but so far I've managed to avoid ole momo.....at my age I don't think my heart can take it 😮😅😅

I remember watching shows like this when I was a child,I'd sit in the floor watching mesmerized. What strikes me now not much difference between the shows now and then. Foot prints, hair, bout all they ever find. Now they look for tree breaks, tree structures, listen for tree knocks, still no real proof. Just the proof of the people who has seen them.

I love these pseudo science/paranormal/unexplained documentaries. I don't believe in any of this stuff at all because I'm an open-minded skeptic, but I do enjoy thinking "what if." Many good times were spent watching these late at night. And for those wondering, you can see many of these on youtube. Overlords of The UFO and The Search for Noah's Ark and The Bermuda Triangle are my favorites. Movies like this, along with the king of them all ... In Search Of with Leonard Nimoy, are the greatest.

Has the government coming out reporting that these UAPs that our military keep seeing are real change your mind at all? Sincerely wondering. They have them dropping 30 thousand feet to a hover one foot over the ocean in less than a second. Then back up to 30 thousand feet in a second. That is just one example. They break all laws of physics. We have seen them on radar and visually at the same time to confirm they are real. Interesting to say the least. Anyway just crossed my mind since your comment was two years ago.

If Patterson faked it 1- why hasn’t anybody been able to match it and 2- why waste it on a super 8 film but he could have made a movie and that would have been the best suit in movie history. Either he made a poor decision or it was real.

Morgan said "Its kind of sad we're in pursuit of such a creature" Uh, then why are you pursuing it? You're pursuing it because you wanted the money and the fame. And 51 years later you still haven't found it.
