Freddie's last words sung was May 1991. He died November 24th 1991 6 months later. Brian actually contemplated suicide after...his dad died too. Brian does suffer depression. He said he was driving over a bridge and said he thought about how easy it could be to drive over it.....but the thought of his kids stopped him. The whole band suffered in their own way after Freddie died.
Brian sang the last verse because Freddie got too tired and sick to continue but said he would be back but he never made it. This was released in 1995 from vocals recorded in 1991 and mixed and finished by Queen later. There is a whole album called Made in Heaven that was made from his last vocals recorded.
They all grieved in there own way. Deaky being so heart broken he couldn't play with Brian and Roger. Ended up retiring from music in 1997 roger was the last person to see him in 2004 at a pub. Brian going thru a divorce, losing his dad and his brother ( freddie) all in one year. Roger being depressed and upset with what the media was printing out about Freddie not wanting to talk nor hear about queen.

My heart breaks for every one of them including Freddie.
Brian May I felt the most sympathy for him. So many losses in one year.
Queen were like a family they all suffered heartbreak from the death of Freddie but poor deacon couldnt carry on without Freddie

Knowing how sick he was but still soldiering on makes this song even more poignant and tear jerking.
The moment Brian may comes in after the long solo, knowing Freddie died somewhere in between is still the most hollow feeling...
first time I heard it and realised Freddie had never got the chance to finish the track, it killed me. I think of all the tracks on Made in Heaven this one is the most poignant.
Yes, he was so sick he had to lean against the mixing board to stand unassisted and, obviously, never made it back to the studio to sing the last verse. Listen, public reaction or not, to the official video. This video distracts from the song. The official one is a beautiful shot of Freddie’s statue overlooking Lake Geneva. Great reaction. I can’t fathom how anybody who knows/likes/loves Freddie and Queen can listen to this, especially for the first time, and NOT cry. 💛
This is the blessing and curse of having someone who shined ever so brightly in your life.
You feel the light and warmth of their love they have brought into your world and when they leave your world turns cold and dark.
But remember the good times you had with them this they will help to keep you warm and lighten up your days
What the world felt on his passing his family and friends felt beyond measure.

This is one of the few songs that had me cry in front of my screen, it is too heart-breaking... All Freddie Mercury cry to this song.
That one's very hard to get through, and I don't listen to it often. Great song of course, and Brian does a good job finishing it. I'm sure I can speak for all of us Queen fans and say, we miss you Freddie, and through your music...you will live for forever.
Last of Freddy singing was at 4:27 or so. Final verse sung by Brian a few months after Freddy died.

One of the reasons Fred left almost everything to his first love, Mary Austin, was that he said no one could love him the way she did. That under different circumstances, he would have married her. She was, he said, his wife. He wasn't interested in the sex, the passion, he just wanted Mary's motherly love. Because she did love him in that pure way.

It is so surreal hearing Freddie sing anything and not see him anywhere..in a video.

The song ends with lines from the first song Freddie in 1972 recorded as Larry Lurex called 'Goin' Back'. So it is even more bittersweet with that and knowing it was the last song he ever recorded.

DAAAANG, Sweety, You made me CRYYYYY (again!). It's hard to get through this song w/o tearing up.
You have a very perceptive listening ear: I think you can definitely tell which songs Fred recorded during this last stage of his life because his voice is still BEAUTIFUL, but "not-as-strong", as you put it.
Near the end of this song, you hear a little bit of "I'm Going Back" .... which Fred recorded under the name Larry Lurex back in 1973(?)... It's a BEAUTIFUL song; hopefully you could react to it sometime?

Its not from Innuendo. Innuendo was released 9 months before he died. These recordings Are done after Innuendo which became the Made In Heaven album. Which was a bunch of New versions of Freddies solo stuff in Queen version, and unreleased recordings from previous sessions. Except this one and You Dont Fool Me.
It was an unnecessary album. At least the way they did it. It would never been like that if Freddie had anything to say about it. But listen to Innuendo. Its Epic! And one of my fav Queen albums.

Freddie has AIDS and he was in the last stage of before he died. And it is always sad for me when I see him or hear him sing.

As to Freddie's voice his natural voice was lower than he used to sing. Please listen to Ensueno to hear his natura voice.

Indeed. Mercury died before he could finish the last verse, so Brian finished for him.
Freddie was in the studio singing this then said he wasn't feeling well.
Brian: he told me he would go home get some rest then said " don't worry darling I'll come back and we will knock this out dear". And that was the last time he was in the studio and that I saw him.
Sadly enough roger was on his was to see Freddie then he got a call as he was out the door telling him don't bother coming he's already gone.
The Show Must Go On...Freddie was bedridden, basically.

Those notes though that he hits in the first verse, what a powerful singer and dedicated artist to do that in his condition. The only voice that comes close is Marc Martel.

Brian May said that Freddie's voice was beautiful, but weary on the last album. He was in extreme pain. Brian said that he would take a big swallow of booze and say something along the lines of "I WILL f*cking do it!" I love this song, but it does go to the bone. I prefer pulling up the lyric page to listen. This lost in space thing is dumbest ass video ever! What the hell does it have to do with Freddy?

Mother Love made you think you should tell her to listen to Dragon Attack. Its a very overrated song. Some songs on Hot Space is better then that one. Like Cool Cat and Chat Back. Dont need to mention Under Pressure.

I can't watch this video without crying, and i've been watching it since 91... This is a man who is so thin and consumed by this terrible disease, almost unrecognizable, and to the point where just the fact of having clothes on his body actually caused him physical pain... But he made this for two reasons, his love for music, and as a farewell to his fans (the last line in the song). THIS IS a true LEGEND!!

Lovely song & so poignant. But there seems to be no connection between the song and the video. I think it was a student filmmaker project, so I guess it made sense to someone, but I just shut it out & listen to the music. When Brian comes in with the last verse I sort of fall apart.
