I have a tip for you sir (from a G100 Legion). Use Counter Ready Titan kit to get yourself extra electric smoke. When you use electric smoke (in pvp or in Frontier Defense), enemy AI stops shooting at you if you stay inside the smoke cloud. This works 90 % of the time if the enemy AI unit (reaper, titan, drone etc) is at least 3-5 meters or more away from you and the smoke is deployed so that it is between you and the enemy. In practice, this is like an indirect defense upgrade that will save you a TON of health because you can prevent enemies from targeting and thus shooting at you twice before getting your core. I personally prefer this perk, Counter Ready, over any other Titan Kit in Frontier Defense. With Legion, for example, this is very handy when used intelligently with defensive abilities. As a Legion, you use Gun Shield for defense, but what to do if your shield runs out and enemy AI titans are still pushing you and you have to deal with them right now before they reach the Harvester but you cannot afford to lose a lot of health? Well, after Gun Shield runs out, deploy 1 electric smoke and shoot through it (enemy titans are often highlighted through the smoke with a faint red outline so you don't need to guess where they are). During that time when electric smoke is active, your Gun Shield recharges and when the smoke clears, you can use Gun Shield again (the smoke lasts about the same amount of time as it takes for Gun Shield to recharge). When the next Gun Shield runs out again, deploy another smoke and wait for the next Gun Shield, as previously. After that, two rotations, you should pretty much have your core ready. After the core, you keep repeating that cycle. Or you could save both smokes for the core duration or for later rounds. Also, if you position yourself well, you may not need to use electric smoke so often after the Gun Shield. Positioning yourself well means here that you do not stay in the open but instead stay near cover to reload Predator Cannon behind that cover or to use that cover to recharge Gun Shield safely. So try to reduce health loss first by positioning, and then with smokes. Also, you can store like 8 or 10 smokes in total if I remember right. This takes 4 or 5 cores, respectively. All in all, try to position yourself well firstly, and if enemies still try to push you and you don't have Gun Shield ready, use the smoke tactic to give you more survivability. With this in mind, I personally recommend that you usually don't use both Gun Shield and electric smoke at the same time because doing so does not give that significant a benefit. However, the exception to that is if you are in very very low health and really want to be 100 % sure instead of 90 % sure that the last enemy titans in front of you cannot see and hit you. However, using both at the same time will break the combo unless you have other smokes ready. Good luck on the Frontier.
