Chef Pasquale, you always make me remember my Grandmother. I was so blessed to grow up in the same house as her. She used to make dough every Friday, for pizza and spinach pie. Have you ever made spinach pie with sausage, potatoes, spinach, onions, and capers? She was Sicilian and every time she made that all the neighbors seemed to know. Even the poor Irish kids who grew up on boiled meat loved it, they happened to be my cousins, but they were OK. Really miss her and all the great things she made, like the Struffoli, and a lot of the things I see on your channel. You are a precious soul. Thanks for keeping these creations alive.
You brought me to tears watching this. I miss my grandparents so much, and listening to you talk was exactly how they did. They were funny, yet serious, gentle, yet tough. They always had this on the table for get together so after dinner with the espresso.
Struffoli reminds me of my (late) grandmother! She made this every Christmas. How I miss those days. Struffoli is my favorite! I will definitely have to make this again soon. Thanks for your video. I love your instructions, substitutions and your cute accent! You remind me of my (late) grandfather. Your videos always make me smile. :-)
My mom was from Calabria and used to make these during the holiday season. I miss them so much-they are out of this world delicious-she made them with red wine instead of anisette. Glad I found the recipe for them!! Thank you
Pasquale.. happy new year .. love you and your show.. I studied cooking in France and Spain in the early 80s been a chef for over 35 plus years and still learning .. you are a great teacher of passion.. huge hug and kiss my friend
Brings back so many memories! I have not had these for such a long time. I will have to try and make them next Christmas. Thank you and have a blessed New Year!
Phyllis A Reilly Yeah! We call them porceddhruzzi in the South of Italy and used to eat them every Christmas, handmade by la nonna of course! Ciaoooooo from the ITALIAN FOOD BOSS 💪💪🇮🇹🇮🇹
Thank you so much for not using a food processor! I hadn’t made it in decades and I couldn’t remember how. Your detail makes me believe I can do it again! When I was a kid, we couldn’t touch it until Christmas Eve, and it would drive us crazy with anticipation. Now I have the same feeling, just looking at yours.
This looks like a great old recipe from the old country, would love to try it I have never had it. Wonderful, thank you and I love seeing your bloopers .
My Sicilian Nonna who spoke no English, made theseevery Christmas but she did not cut them into regular squares. She just dipped a teaspoon into the bowl with the raw dough in it and dropped it into hot oil. They came out all irregular shaped - delightfully playful! Then she after cooling, she sprinkled powder sugar over them and placed a bowl of honey next to them. We took one but hand and dipped it into the honey and ate them. So delicious!
Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy new year Chef Pasquale from the great state of Maine. Love all your videos. They bring me back to my youth and my Italian grandparents❣️
Hope you had a Merry Christmas and wishing you a Happy New Year from South Jersey. Just love your channel and all the recipes from my childhood years, brings back great memories of times gone by.
Merry Christmas Pasquale.. and a happy New Year to you and la familia.. my grandmother Giavaninna from Sicily, used to make this for Christmas, she would have little chunks of chocolate bits around it, was one of my favorite treats at her house during the holidays. Thank you for sharing...

I hope everyone here had a very Merry Christmas 🍷 Cin Cin Chef and family 💃💋👍🏼 Loves from Carlsbad CA (currently) 🌴🏄🏼♀️🏖☀️ I love those beautiful bowls I always forget to mention 👊🏼
This one is FANTASTIC! Don't be afraid to use the full amount of anisette or even a bit more. I used less honey and sugar to coat them with and there was still plenty. EDIT: Try adding a bit of fresh squeezed lemon juice on top of the pile after they get coated with the honey. 👍🏻
Omg great recipe 👍👍👏👏👏 in Mexico cols sorongos now I know how to make it thank you 🙏 so so much I love love your food recipe 👍👍😋😋😋 congratulations on your Chanel 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I learnt a new word for a refridgerator yesterday, they called it a «ref». Now that is a lot easier to say than refridgerator, that’s for sure❗️ So, put your dough in the ref❗️☺️👏✌️
Please tell me where I can find a beautiful board like the one you have!! Lots of surface to work on and I notice it stays put even when you are kneading!
