Well she’s singing in her actual range while they have to do falsetto as men but as the harmonies kick in for the Prechorus they do ascend the register a few intervals
way back when the Spice Girls first broke here in the U.S. i didnt think much of them they were just more pop music. i had been hanging out in the Goth scene since the 80s and was more on the death rock end not the Cure end, so i wasnt really listening to the radio and the charts. but the Spice Girls were so big at the time that you couldnt not be aware of them, and i started sort of digging on Posh, and i totally was not into Sporty because i didnt dig that whole look she had with the athletic gear and everything. just a couple of years later Ginger was gone and the whole thing was basically over and a few of the songs had grown on me by then. this was before youtube or before i even had my first DVD player and i had sort of been collecting VHS tapes for years and been doing the equivalent of making people mix tapes except with music videos and other clips. some how or other i got some VHS tape that had all the Spice Girls videos on it as well as a bunch of live clips and soem interviews and other things. i sat down and watched the thing and i started noticing that in ALL the videos Sporty was clearly the best dancer, i also started to notice that in EVERY song Sporty would sing the more difficult parts, i also started to notice the lean tone little fit physique she had. any way that was just a pointless long winded story of how one of my least favorite Spice Girls became my favorite. and she still looks pretty cute in this clip.
I recently heard Into the Valley by the Skids which reminded me that Buzzcocks featured it in this round. I remember: Into the Valley Peas sure sound divine ( .....?) The soldiers go marching There's masses of lamb Whose disease is cat skin My picture is Hugh's toe . ........? Does anyone remember the missing bits? I'd love to hear it again :) The Tenpole Tudor one for Swords of a Thousand Men featuring the barrel of fudge is also a classic, as is Blur's Song 2 ...... is there any jam?
Great show. I love hearing folk who don’t have worldwide successful songs and albums taking the piss of those who do. Em wakeman, you can be excepted. Shitty spice! Why are you on this?

I nominate Rick Wakeman as the best guest in Buzzcock history
+simonal1989 what about Richard Fairbrass though?
+MsMoonTheLoon No idea haha! I nominate Rick
Boy George, Pete Burns and Richard Fairbrass.
Preston tho
Oh yes indeedy! They should have got him to sing his version...
Mel C is lovely.
Yes, agreed, and she carried the other Spices, as she was the only one with talent.
Yes. Yes, she is.
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks she's still 🔥
So is Rick Wakeman.
this was the best round of the shows format, never understood when they dropped it.
Possibly my favorite Indecipherable Lyrics round, this and the Wuthering Heights one
Damn, I miss Buzzcocks! The series with Lamarr.
What a line up, i don't feel like there'd be such good guests these days
One of my favourite moments ever.
"Now you know why he did instrumentals.." 😂
How did I not know how much Rick Wakeman was on this show.
Sporty Spice talking about Dope.... I approve
love mel c's voice

I had such a crush on Mel C 20 years ago. Seeing this made me realize why.
Huey holding up some rizzlas at the end haha
His Buzzcock's prop comedy is always smashing
He gets a kick out of rizzles
I never knew Gok Wan hosted in the original series.
We've all got to start somewhere!
Savage.
Yep, and it all went downhill after good old gok left.
That's actually Gok Two
Wait, the Bee Gees were higher pitched than Mel C, I did not see that happening. I think they were up an octave. Sheesh.

Overshare :)
Not to mention she could sing and play guitar. always looked fit.

I'll also remember Brass in Pocket "Gonna use ma-ma-ma mashed potato-oh!"
Good to see Huey laugh on this show instead of smash cups... even though he is well into the drink here. Red as the Devil's pecker innit
Any other bisexuals a little bit obsessed with both Mel C and Rick Wakeman after this clip?
2:01 Hey up, Dracula's here!
Natalie Appelton is beautiful. Mel C is too .
Tallest BeeGee has the highest voice.
I wish this was standard and Shaq has a mere squeak, Peter Dinklage voiced Darth Vader
Beer Up from Huey, there's an honor. (eyeroll)

Is that the mugblaster with hair on the other team or what
Who's the chick with the skeleton outfit?
Natalie Appleton from All Saints
Liam Gallaghers wife also
@@ajorngjdonaydbr Bit late, but it Nicole Appleton that was married to Liam Gallagher. Natalie Appleton was married to Liam Howlett
The regional dialect that for instance Mel C has is like nails on a chalkboard for me.
Can't really be any worse than your leaving out the commas!
@@SpeccyMan Are you trying to tell us that you are retarded?
i thumbs downed this because of the advert
