About Man of Steel:
A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind. Featuring an all-star cast, Man of Steel offers up an entirely new Superman: alienated, misunderstood, but forever a beacon of hope.

• Man of Steel Official ...
This guy is a musical genius. "Oh you wanna buy an expensive instrument? I can make music out of junks you throw away"
Brilliant!
I hope Hans Zimmer and Zack Snyder can bring Chas Smith back for Batman v Superman and beyond. This guy is amazing and make some of the most organic cool sounds I have ever heard. I wish Neil Blomkamp would use this talent for his next Alien movie.
+André Kevermann Best combo is Hans Zimmer + Christopher Nolan.
4:05 This is the sound i want my morningalarm to have...
Airborne It was literally screaming at the end.
"you want a chaos, i got chaos" lol
This is a perfect example of how beautiful the "music of sounds" can be.
Holy shit this guy is my new hero!!!
"Where you gonna get that? That". Walks away epically
Hans is right, they hit you very well. They sound amazing. Some of them sound like a full brass band.
This guy also worked on the first hunger games at 3:42 i recognized that sound from when the hunger games first started at the cornucopia speaking of which made a tremendous impact on the scene/movie
That copper box was definitely used for Zod's focus.
Rest in peace Chas - you incredible musician 🙏🏼
It is always awsome to see an artist, who creates sounds we have never heard before and therefore make us feel a certain way we have never felt before.
The "Lockheed" is my favorite.
....fuuuuuuck, this dude is a beast for this.....
This is just absolutely beautiful.
Wow, I am lost for words man, these are completely new instruments, and not one, but many!
To think these instruments have been sampled now for any composer to use... crazy
what an incredible job congratulations
this is genius i must say, no hardware and software can modulate such real sounds!
Que Lastas is my favorite in this video, it created a natural bass sound.. so organic
this is just amazing!!!!!!...there is no other way to describe this!!!....
amazing, beautiful sounds
that sound is amazing at 1:46
pure geniality
Astounding and inspiring. Too bad this video is in mono. Would love to hear some of these instruments in stereo, or better yet, full surround. Though I realize I that's beyond UA-cam.
Grateful for the enlightenment honorable sir
Amazing...
incredible
This is so great! Thank you!
OMG OMG OMG ..... SPEECHLESS :O
Thanks so much for this wonderful video.
That is insane! love everything about this
That was awesome.
Wow.
Mind blown! Amazing
Chas Smith. Unbelieveable that his name doesn't appear in the title to or anywhere that I can see in the credits. He's got some amazing albums out on the "Cold Blue" label. And the devices he's built are works of art. I'd love to have time to record with them. instead I just try and get something in the same sound area out of my modular synth and send it through my tube amps.
I hope this video bring to light the unknown universe of sound sculptures. Bertoia, Ariel Guzik, Ellen Fullman, Julián Carrillo, Smetak, Limpe Fuchs.
Fucking brilliant.
Awesome, incredible outstanding sounds!
@ 1:55 Hans is like.....facepalm Zack....This guy rly doesn't get it....
Laughed my ass off when Snyder made an ass of himself right there. Poor Hans.
+Airborne haha that made me laugh
lol.. i think snyder means well though
Dopeness, welded.
i've known Chas since....1976, and trust me, ya would want to hang with this guy. He made the case for a synth I just put together for Tool. Danny Carey went though his shop here in awe. You guys should check out the completed music he maks with these things. It's incredible. goog "An hour out of Desert Center" and "Nikko Wolferine" for starters.
Woah.......
beautiful :)
In case no one else answers this, I can only tell you "not the one wich was used here" :) just kidding, great video! but the overdrive in 4:10 could be avoided. so, it's a bit tricky. you should have mic and preamp suitably matched so that you can record wide dynamic range of sounds. all of this instruments sounds even better in reverberant environement so you could use a good pair of omnidirectional small diaphragm condenser microphonse.
Wow. My mind is jumping right now. Wish we could record something with him. - Brian (singer) WHY
I am honored to have the same first name as Chas Smith.
1:58 nobody
Zack:
jajaja
What is this "parachute cable" he refers to? Does he mean paracord? Because parachute cable looks nothing like what's in the video...
It depends on the movie. Some movies wouldn't sound right with catchy tunes, atmospheric soundscapes work better.
woow
Of course Charlie Clouser now owns the Que Lastas
last instrument.....boom tube?
holy shit
what type/brand of microphones do you recommend to recored these types of sound (metallic resonance / noises etc.. )?
Now that's what I call analog.
0:50
Limbo has a similar sound on its soundtrack.
I miss the days when the music was a character in the movie. You'd leave the theater humming the theme and remember certain scenes. Now it's just drums and sound effects-not bad...but not as good as before.

Hans Zimmer and Zach Snyder looks so awkward in a conversation it's a like an experienced adult and a kid.
Man Of Steel for Junk. BVS for Junkie Xl.
La ha fatta questo tizio la ''musica'' non hans zimmer ahahahaa
こういう機械に頼らないアンチデジタル的な思想って大事だよな。
1:57
Zack Snyder looking like a fool, Hans Zimmer totally annoyed by his crap.... xD
that man must use lots of drugs
Zach is just pure cringe in this video- a 10 year old bumping elbows with geniuses.
That cringey ten year old made one of the greatest movies after 2010 vro
Hamsa exactly and maybe that's what we need instead of the hacks a person who holds his childhood close and understands the depth of these stories told upon comic books and creates something beautiful out of it with the help of these genius like Hans Zimmer
Please don't use the expression "pure cringe." That makes me cringe.
Also, what are you talking about? He made one joke and then expressed his idea for the film.
You saying pure cringe is cringey
This is awesome! … It is people like that who add colours and new textures to music. I love what this artist designs. …. and not to mention Hans Zimmer who is also one of my favorite film composers! nice video. thx for sharing this with us.
