Hi! I've started doing daily yoga for almost a year now. Sometimes I do 1 hour, most of the times, it's 25 min and if I'm really tired I only do a short practice, but I do step on my mat everyday. What helped me the most was finding the right time of the day for my practice and integrating it into my routine. I tried different thing and for me, evening yoga is the best option. I like doing my practice around 8 pm when I got off from work. Instead of collapsing on my bed with my phone, I do a bit of yoga. It feels so good to pause and stretch after a long day on my feet at work (I'm a cleaner) also my muscles are still warm so it's easier in my opinion than in the morning when your body is stiff. I never thought I'd be able to stick with it, but now that it's part of my evening routine, I just can't imagine skipping it, it just feels wrong. Also it feels good to see how much I'm progressing. My flexibily has improved a lot!!! My strength, not so much, I still can't do chaturanga properly, but I'm not giving up, it's nice to have goals but I'm not putting to much pressure on myself. I want my yoga to be a nice time, not a stressful time :)
Honestly I´d tried yoga various times before, but I had always been too scared to do something that wouldnt be entirely focused on growing muscles. When I was in a very bad place with myself and my body I used to think to myself that yoga is for "weak people" or is just an activity for active rest days because it wouldnt be challenging enough to count as a workout. Over a year ago I started my journey to a healthier mindset and that´s when I first did one of your yoga classes. They just reached so much further than the purpose to change your outer appearance. Since today I have tried different yoga classes, but none of them touched my soul like yours. I honestly cried a lot of times during your practices, just because I was so deeply moved and in such a vulnerable place. Nobody achieved that during a practice apart from you and I´ll be forever thankful that you introduced me into the wonderful world of yoga
I confess I went into yoga by accident : broken foot, caster, so the only thing I could do was Pilates at home. And some day, when the caster was removed and I was authorized to stand on my feet, I still wanting to do a Pilates class. But the teacher I was training with also taught power yoga. And I clicked by accident on a power yoga vid, and said 'why not ?'. That's how I got addicted ! Then, I discovered different styles, different teachers... And Cat, you're my absolute fav !! My dream is to go on a yoga retreat with you😃
So happy that I saw this video. I started the Yoganuary 2.0 before I wanted to subscribed to Soul Sanuaury just so I would find the time and not waste my money as I am recovering from a traumatic brain injury. I am on day 26 and have found how much it has helped me. I will be signing up for SS and I will be subscribe to the beginners class. Thanks so much Cat, you have given me so much motivation just by being you!
what a great video to start my day with! i’m certainly not new to yoga but in our busy world (and as i’m transitioning to self-governed, remote work and settling into a new home) maintaining consistency can be such a struggle. when you shared tip number 2 and talked about your own practice/how ok it is to work in smaller chunks where we need to, i felt so seen! thank you for the tips, cat! my practice is so much fuller thanks to your channel. 🙏✨
i live in germany and i started yoga online with you and another german online teacher, cause on the beginning it was difficult for me to understand everything in english.i also already was member but due to 2 times breascancer issues i stoped doing yogapractice twice and the last one since aug 2021.so i think this is a great idea with the beginners class,i will join it cause iam desperatly want to start again but my mind still slowing me down. i really agree your recomandation to start online class on the beginning.actually a tried after a time the public clases and some of them i did not liked that much...think the yogateacher is also important. i really like your way to teach and explain. sending you my gratitude for beein so passionate and present and give us,person like me,maybe shy or insecure, the chance by youtube or soul sanctuary to experience and dive in to the world of yoga.stay healthy and happy
Thank you so much for sharing your insights. ❤️ I have been following your flows which have been very challenging but fun. I’m getting back into yoga and this time around I’m changing my approach. I want to give myself freedom to fail but always getting back on the mat each time until I get better.
Just seen this sharing. Found my practice habit almost same as your tips. 🙂 Thanks. But face-to-face class is also required since some interaction can help improve.
I do your videos morning and night and love them so thank you . I wondered if you could do a series on poses .... I have never done in person classes and just want to be sure my form is correct . You explain things well and I'd love to know if you've already done some videos like this or if you could do them? Thank you again Cat !!!
I'm very interested in yoga and Tai chi. For mental health, I just started getting into weight lifting this past April and while YOGA will help me physically, my main focus is emotionally. I never got help for my mental health and I refuse to get on anti depressants and Xanax because I used to have a Xanax addiction. While it will help, I just don't want anything to blur my mind. I want to keep my brain and body clear of anything that FOGS THE MIND. IVE BEEN CLEAN OFF OPIATES SINCE 2015 AND STOPED TAKING XANAX 2018
