The couch arrived in two boxes four days early, which was great because we'd just moved into a new house and needed places to sit. My son and I put it together pretty quickly ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxitRzxya-XugamYgLwa_2G1gxPg4MCJHa . Another reviewer suggested inserting the seat into the side and I'm glad they did as the instructions weren't clear on that matter. It's incredibly light and slides easily across the wood floor, making it easy to move. It's firm, but comfortable. It will even be great to nap on. I got the gray, which definitely has strong blue undertones, but I'm okay with that.

You guys and gals really know how to lift up a fellow hunter!! I have been so scared and nervous to show this day. I am in tears reading these comments and I can feel your support. For you guys to take time out of your day to watch our videos and make such positive uplifting comments when a guy is down speaks volumes on the kind of people you are. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!!

I gut shot a mulie this year. The most emotional night of of my life. You spend countless hours shooting your bow so you can put an ethical shot on these animals that deserve so much respect. And when that didn't happen, I have never in my life been been more disappointed in myself. I feel for you Trent, there's little anyone can do to change the way you feel after that. But luckily I was able to track and recover the deer the next morning. The emotions were almost unbearable. I love how you don't hide the emotions on here. This is hunting, this is what really happens. Keep up the great work guys.

      Trent,
That's what I love about BRO and Hush. You guys show it like it happens. Good and bad. A true nightmare is shooting an elk in the paunch, tracking it for 3 days until the birds lead you to it and then only bringing bone out of the woods. That elk just got an education. He'll be fine. Thanks for keeping me and countless others entertained.

What an emotional rollercoaster of a hunt. Keep your head up boys. You guys are doing quality work producing REAL LIFE hunting footage. Us hunters know hunting isn't what you see on your typical hunting show, hunts don't always end with a monster trophy at the end of each day and that's not what it's about anyway. You're heart is obviously in this. That wasn't supposed to be your bull it was supposed to be a lesson and an experience to learn from. I'm excited for the upcoming episodes as are many other viewers so keep that raw, REAL hunting footage coming!

Guys, I have been watching these videos everyday since you have launched and one thing i will not question is your ethics! After watching the Oregon bull you guys shot and chasing it forever and forming the grid to find him and then watching this video ethics is not a flaw you have. I am 41 years old and have been bow hunting for over 20 years and i can honestly say you did the absolute right thing. You watched that bull and heard that bull plenty to make the correct decision that he was alive. This is hunting and not catching for a reason, its hard! This happens. After witnessing the bull alive I would not have punched my tag either. Keep your head up Trent, you did nothing wrong. I absolutely love this series and keep it BRO!!

I am a avid hunter and watched this episode 18. My husband and I have operated a wild game processing unit for years and its amazing what we have found on both elk and deer. We have seen several shoulder shots and have found that animals that were shot in this way have healed over with scar tissue. We completed a deer that had a broad head completely encased in scar and gristle tissue along his spine and the hunter said the buck was not impaired. I throughly enjoy your hunts and sympathize with you on your loss. As a hunter we all stride for clean and ethical hunt but amazed just how tough Elk can be.

Bummer. If you hunt elk long enough this will eventually happen to you no matter how much you practise or how hard you try to do it right. In a long career of bow hunting elk it has happened to me a couple of times. What it taught me though was to focus on not only picking a spot to anchor that sight pin on, but to try to pick a piece of hair. When you stop a bull and they look at you I think the eye contact between you and the bull takes your focus off of picking a spot and you end up shooting high or too far right/left, thus focusing on the piece of hair keeps you from looking the bull in the eye.
Great project! I'm loving it. You fellows are talented, hard working, and ethical bow hunters and I appreciate your willingness to express your faith in the middle of all of it. Some of my most spiritual moments have been in the middle of this fantastic gift of archery elk hunting. Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to when you hunt my home state of MT. Best wishes!

I love this series! Love everything about it. I lost an elk last year and I was alone and I endured 11 hours of blood trailing and the agony of the next day. Guys,
One of the biggest reason my buddies and I watch this series is the incredible attitudes and perseverance you all show. Very refreshing to not "blame on the release" or "wind/limb must have grabbed the arrow."
Taking full responsibility is key in a hunters character and we appreciate it.
Glory be to God when we shoot them, Glory be to God when we don't.
    Keep up the good work!

It’s been said over and over in the comments, but I’m really glad you put this episode up. As bowhunters, that is our worse nightmare. But your empathy for the elk and the reverence for the hunt is what is striking. There’s a lot of people out there who wouldn’t think twice about what happened. But I’ve been there like most hunters and it’s a horrible feeling making a mistake hunting. You are dealing with a life of an animal you greatly respect. Misses happen, misjudged distance happens, shoulder shots happen, the best thing you can do is learn from it, practice practice practice and move on. Proud of you guys, keep up the good work!

  • @j6784d

The hi's and lo's of elk hunting. I never understood until this year when my buddy and I were in Idaho. He called in one for me end of first day and I had the same thing that happened to you happen to me. Hit the shoulder at 55. Two specks of blood and nothing else. Worst. Feeling. Ever. The next morning came and I was just so down. But good friends and the respect we have for these animals keep us going. Went back to the scene and there was nothing. Gridded it out. Nothing. I'm sitting here now thinking do we really include the footage we have from that but the right thing to do is to be honest, learn from it, and keep moving forward. Looking forward to more of this series and next elk season. You guys are an inspiration.

Wow Trent, your crew is in fact human! After all the successes you have posted, I wondered. I say that in jest and with the utmost respect. This episode was real in the highest sense...the agony of what transpired was apparent in the moment and during the rehash in the studio for sure. You can not make that up, and hats off to you and the crew for the humility in showing what can happen and what we live as public land bowhunters. There is no script for the emotions involved in what yoi experienced, but it is apparent your crew consists of the type of friends you want and need around you when unfortunate events transpire. For anyone who has been in that gut wrenching scenario, they get it. Too many emotions are involved for the depth of what a hunter feels when the investment of a family and a hunting family is involved. Nothing more to say other than I resoect the heck out of what you and your crew have done and shared...please keep it up. You are an inspiration to more than you know. Hats off to you and your crew for all you have done...simply amazing.

Thanks for sharing the mistakes! That is the top thing I love about Born and Raised Outdoors. It is reality for all of us at some point and the fact that you can share that in front of thousands speak volumes. Elk are tough and sounds like to me from the footage that the bull quickly ignored his mere flesh wound and was back to chasing tail. Your raw emotions really show how much respect you have for the animals and you as a group have demonstrated that before on this project. (Over a 1000yd tracking job to find B-mack's bull.) That is dedication and there are a high percentage of hunters out there that would have given up and moved on. Thanks for keeping it real. On the bright side, the bull was able to continue breeding to produce more calves for another season!

If a fella has been hunting elk with a bow long enough, unfortunately shots like this happen. I think Treavor is right, we get jacked when we stop em' and can rush a shot. That bull was wounded but lives on for sure. His bugling and moving around after the shot shows he was going to make it just fine. Bulls get tine puncture wounds all throughout the rut. They are tough! I'm glad you guys share the raw, real experiences...the roller coasters. That's why we all love the Born and Raised Outdoors fellas and videos!!

It's hunting and unfortunately it happens to everyone. I 100% support the decision to continue hunting the rest of the tag. Good job Trent and BRO!

Youre getting a lot of love here and thats the only thing you should get. Your reaction, the sick to your stomach, nasty nasty feeling you got just shows how ethical and honest you are as a hunter. Most hunters have gone through this in one way or another, but everyone knows by the way you feel about your mistake, youre a good dude and deserve nothing but greatness in the woods! Keep it up, stay calm and all will be well. Elk are tough sons of bitches... look at the all too famous Firebull scenerio... a shoulder shot is minor compared to that. You've gained even more respect from me because of this and continue to do so as this series goes on. You've got great repectable friends around you and you should be happy... keep on hammerin man!!! Wow!! I️ just relived my 2017 elk season. From the privilege to hunt with a good buddy who is known as the “elk whisperer,” to putting in some serious time and hard work, having close encounters just not quite working out, to nearly the exact same shot placement once the opportunity arose. I️ absolutely get what you went through and probably still feel to this day. The sickness, disappointment, and feeling of letting everyone down not just yourself. Knowing the efforts made by others to get you that opportunity and feeling like you failed them when the game was on the line. Totally feel you brother. Sucks. But I️ don’t think any true hunter will or can hold anything against you. You did everything possible to get another opportunity and were able to observe and reasonably determine it was not a fatal hit. As said already, if you hunt long enough, this type of incident is bound to happen.
You guys are an inspiration to hunters and just how to be a good human period. You definitely have something special going and I️ look forward to see what’s ahead. Keep up the phenomenal work.

What I thought was a perfect shot turned out to be just a few inches off. Spent the next three days tracking to finally spot him on his feet bugling, and pushing his cows around! You guys hit the nail on the head. Learn from your mistakes, stay positive and get back after it! Thanks for showing the real side of hunting. Keep up the good work!

I've been watching this series all week. It is fantastic and I'm loving it. I just want to say, as a bow hunter, I've been there. It really really sucks. How you handled it speaks volumes about you. I've got nothing but respect for you guys. Thanks for producing this awesome series. It is something very rare and special.

Hey Trent, your honesty & humility are obvious and genuine, and you should not tear into yourself on this one bit. Mistakes happen, it sucks, but you owned it and there really isn't anything else to think about on this, so just let it go (I know easier said than done). We have all made that exact kind of mistake or similar mistakes, and if a guy tells ya otherwise then they just aren't being honest. I had to watch the video over again because I kept pulling for you to get that 2nd chance for another shot. I know you did too. I'm thankful that you had a great bunch of guys there on the mountain with you to help pick you back up. Remain strong and remain uplifted because you have a good heart and a positive spirit. Realize also that you have a tremendous number of others out here that are there supporting you to keep you uplifted. You really don't have any idea of the huge positive influence you are having in so many lives; and a big part of that is the integrity, honesty, and humbleness that we can all see are really who you are, along with the rest of the Born And Raised Outdoors crew. Blessings, Tom

I think it speaks volumes that you had the courage to show the reality of what can happen. As most hunters can understand a simple but real case of "buck fever" is all it takes to be a little or a lot off target. I think if I ever stopped getting it, I'd quit hunting.

I used to watch/buy Primos, but I got bored with how they put the hunts together. This project is the opposite of Primos. Straight up , real hunts. That's what real bow elk hunters want to watch. No hidden mistakes to please someone in order to get money. I think this is going to be the rocket for BRO. I am looking forward to seeing episodes of BRO on the Sportsmans Channel soon!!

Trent, You did what i think every experienced bow hunter has done. I, myself have taken a shot (or two) that didn't connect the way I had hoped, but that's just it, we practice and practice and shoot and shoot and when the time comes it doesn't always go the way you planned or hoped. Don't beat yourself up! you did everything to ensure that bull was either down or still living strong. That's a REAL hunter. You guys are all the real deal. just awesome.

As a hunter, I am glad to see this episode. If you hunt long enough this will likely happen to you. I'm also glad to see you guys not only show the highs while hunting but also the low parts. Its real and raw. It is such an emotional rollercoaster when hunting these beautiful animals. I've been there.

So I think I can speak for all of us when I say that it happens. I've never elk hunted but when I lived down in ks, I had probably the only chance I'll ever have at a bc buck. I shot the shoulder and high and from what I could tell, my broadhead bent on the way in and never deployed. I'm not blaming the broadhead, I blamed myself. But where I'm going with this is, we all make a bad shot. You're not a true hunter if you've never made a bad shot. Dude, yalls videos are awesome. The comrodery yall have, I envy! I know this is 5 years old already bit keep it up. My favorite show right now.

It took a tremendous amount of courage to share that emotional roller coaster. Nothing wrong with your bow setup, just missed your spot after nearly a minute on draw. You hit the bulk of the bone. The only thing I’ve seen kill an elk at the location is a bullet. The bull survived and your self-esteem was wounded. Thank you for not burying the truth!

  • @josephfeldhaus6164
    @josephfeldhaus6164 6 років тому +1

Killed my first archery bull this year. When I was skinning it out I found a broadhead stuck in the front right shoulder. It was a fresh wound, probably from another hunter earlier that same day. The elk was not even limping when he walked into my calling set up at 10 yards. The broadhead was broken and barely pierced the shoulder bone. When I was cutting up meat from the same shoulder I found the remains of a second broadhead that must have been in the shoulder for a few years. These animals are incredibly tough! Thanks for keeping it real and being honest. This series is amazing!

Anyone with any sensibility can plainly see your not just flinging arrows. Thats a tuff pill to swollow but you definitely made the right choice to not punch your tag. That bull lived no doubt about it. And to see even way later doing the uncut its obvious you have nothing but respect for for the animals you pursue. You sir are a prime example of a true sportsman. I gained even more respect for you after watching this. Cant wait to see tomorrows hunt.

I know you have the support of everyone here and the group you're with. Hope for the best and keep your head high. This is exactly why everyone is waiting for that next video to be posted...you guys put everything out there not some edited Hollywood version where every hunt is perfectly wrapped up & on time for the crowd. Thanks for your honesty and can't wait to see how this goes.

Man, tough break Trent! It's OK to feel down on yourself...it means you really care. Allow your self a brief time of introspection and to learn from this....but you must make a conscious effort to pick your self up and move on. Having your boys around to aid in that process is priceless. You guys are very blessed to be supported by a great group of people. Loved this episode!

I have made that exact shot and spent two days looking for that elk, a month later in rifle season I shot that Elk he had the arrow head in him along with some arrow , but was amazed at how the muscles had healed around it, that elk would have lived a long and wise life ,if I would not have shot him in rifle season ! I like your disappointment,it's a true characteristic of a honest hunter !

Chin up - he's still out rutting his cows! Btw. Heart was pumping, when he finally came in - great show guys.

I did the same thing in '09. Highest of highs and lowest of lows. I tracked mine 300 yards and was following pin drops. Then, in the middle of tracking, had 2 more bulls walk in on me and proceed to feed and bed down within 18 yards. Did not shoot either of them as I was not done tracking. That said, after I was sure I had not fatally wounded the animal, I went on hunting. Its the deal. You guys certainly put all the effort a person can into being prepared but it is not scripted. I appreciate you showing both what success and failure looks like. There are lessons to be learned from both. Great series and glad you guys are putting this together!

This will happen to every hunter, that’s a given. I believe it’s how we move forward that defines us, you did everything perfect, exactly what we would have done!

Well your not alone in this one young man. My ol-man taught me along time ago that if your a serious hunter, regardless of how good you are, and you guys are good. In fact some of the best and most honest and down to earth guys I've seen here. These things happen to us all. I still kick myself over my first of 3 hunts that went sideways. One I shot high and tracked for over 7 hours before I seen him chasing cows at the end of the day. He was dropped the following year by a good friend of mine. And the other two I never did find. You fellas keep going and don't ever quit. You've all got good values, and strive for the good hunt and to me that's what it's all about. Till next time, take care and God Bless you one and all.

  • @NimrodOutdoors

Tough tough deal right there man. Hate that feeling and even tougher decision whether to punch your tag or not. That is for you and you alone to make that decision and no one should be telling you whether or not you did right or wrong. No one else was there in you position, you alone were the shooter and it is a hard choice. For me if I know the animal is still alive and not wounded to a point that he will die because of what I did to it then I keep hunting. I have had that situation go both ways. From the video and listening to that bull after I would say your good with that decision to keep hunting.
Love the series guys. Thanks for doing this.

WHile you call it an elk hunter's worst nightmare, this is truly a BOWHUNTER'S worst nightmare. No matter the species being hunted, the lethality of the shot is solely dependent upon hitting a small target within the animal. Donny got lucky with his poor shot and everyone acknowledged it. Trent, your emotion was genuine and any bowhunter who has hunted long enough knows the feeling. Hopefully you pick it up and get another chance. Can't wait to keep watching.
