Super proud of B-Mac, and the whole crew. It's weird, after watching both of your guys' video channels for a few years it feels like you get to know you all. I shot my bull this year (shot a little high, but thought it was a good shot) and caught one lung during archery, and gave him an hour at first, after what looked like a good shot. I jumped him, then gave him 3 hours, and jumped him again after a TON of blood... I backed out, and after recruiting some awesome brothers and friends, we found 1 tiny spot of blood in-between 300 yards of not finding any.... The next day I gridded and thought all hope was lost, but after climbing through a hell hole of down timber in backcountry SW Montana, I found him! Best experience of my life. Three weeks later I welcomed my firstborn, a beautiful daughter into the world. We have meat for the year, and it was 100% God who helped me find him. Thanks for all you guys do. It keeps my passion for hunting through the year!

So.... get up in the morning, walk along eating berries, shoot an elk!
    Then the work starts.
Congratulations on having the friends you have. Better stories were never written.
You all possess a few very unique qualities that a lot of folks don't even know their missing. I have such a great time watching what you do. I'm missing out. I envy each one of you equally.

Hey guys. Loving the show. I was 76 last week, have worsening eye and knee problems so my Elk hunting career is drawing to close. I have some monster Utah bulls taken on hunts that are the stuff of dreams. Living every moment of your hunts and loving it. None of that crap that is on the hunting channels, just ordinary guys that are doing what they love and having success the real way. Keep it up, you are making an old Elk hunted relive his dreams.

Cry away fellas. Those who don't get it never will. Elk hunting is just as much as a mental hunt as it is a physical one and it will make or break bonds. You my friends will never be broken. You guys have something special. Elk hunting in the blood is an addiction I'm glad to be addicted to. The only thing I have a hard time with is the time away from my family but they know I'm doing what I love. Love what you guys do and hope to meet you all on the mountain someday!

Has to be one of the greatest episodes ever!!! Starts off hilarious with the waking up in the morning, excellent hunting, and then the highs and the lows of archery hunting. It's like all emotions a hunter could ever experience all happens in this one episode. Anyone who has shot an animal and struggled to find it after a good shot knows how low you feel and the sense of relief when you finally find the animal. Glad to see this one end positive. Love the show guys, love the positivity, congrats to you all and congrats to b-mack especially. Heck of a hunt! Keep up the good work and keep it coming! Can't believe this is only episode 4!!!

This episode is so very special guys, as it showed my little ones the true reason for loving archery elk hunting. It showed them the love, passion, excitement and emotion that is elk hunting with family and friends. It's so great to have a hunting series that shows/teaches them the true reason to love hunting. Thanks Born & Raised for the great example you are to the future generations of hunters. Keep up the good work and thanks for the laughs!

    These are fantastic!
The experiences that you highlight show the reality of what hunting(and, in particular, bowhunting) is truly about. The successes are great, but it’s the time with friends and the journey before and after the shot that is truly what drives the passion for it.
If anyone doesn’t understand why we do it, these videos explain it as plain as day.

There is something to be said about a group of guys that are emotionally "all in" a hunt. There is no doubt in my mind that this raw emotion can easily transition into everyday life. As someone who has just begun to hunt at 45ys of age (now 47) as a way to test my way of being and as a way to "be still" in the moment this video serves as a true Testament of what life could be like when your "All In". Great perseverance. People think you just have to be in physical shape to elk hunt.... Ah no. You better have a mind set that when every thing says "the heck with it, I'm done", that you stick at it. A true archery hunter is one of the toughest when it comes to physical and mental. Great job Bmac. We have all been praying for you to find success again. Way to go BRo crew on setting him there to get the shot, and then carrying him thru to get the elk.

Thanks for showing your commitment in finding that bull. I also have experienced "the thrill of victory" in finding a bull and the "agony of defeat" when the animal was not recovered. I really liked the uncut where you shared what you learned about the search and the shot. What I've appreciated the most in "Land of the Free" is your humbleness and selfless attitudes with each other. After archery hunting elk for about 30 years I've discovered the most enjoyment for me comes in helping another fulfill their dream of shooting an elk and the deeper relationships that also occur. I do backpack DIY public land hunting in Colorado.

I shot a bull in 2011 in Eastern Oregon and had this almost exact thing happen, except I wasn't able to find it. Five days after I shot it some guys drove by my camp with it in the back of their truck. It had gone over 1,000yds all up hill with a double lung shot. That really opened my eyes to how tough elk can be; I hope to never experience that again. Kudos to you guys for sticking with it and finding that bull.

I shot at least twice a week for 6 months before this season, I got shots four times this year and nothing's in the freezer. I fully understand how things don't go as planned sometimes and I love that you guys are always raw and real. Keep it up!!

Best video yet! I love that your videos are raw and uncut. You guys aren't afraid to show anything that happens even it didn't go as planned. B-mac did what most of us would have done and flung the arrow before the bull stopped (I'm guilty myself.) It was close range and seems doable. But for you guys to talk about it and give advice to the viewers based on your experience is awesome. We all need to be reminded to think about the shot play by play before we loose an arrow and attempt to take the life of a wild animal. This is a great reminder for me and prior to next season I'm going to somehow incorporate this into my practice shooting. You guys rock! B-mac nice job buddy you deserved that bull! Well done.

This is what hunting should be like! You guys are very inspirational and keep one another up when one guy is down! The brotherhood shared between you all and the non competitive attitudes you guys share is something I wish more people would do. Can’t wait for the next episode guys I will continue to share your videos as long as you make them. Thanks again for making “Real Hunting Videos”

Elk season is over, I had the best elk season I've had in 7 years & took the a once in a lifetime Bull, Then it's over & regular life resumes. I totally look forward to every evening to watch this adventure & experience & extend elk season for the rest of the year. My family & I watch together & they love it as well.

I was hoping you'd recap the shot placement, and it all makes sense. One thing I've always done when things don't add up is do an autopsy to identify the path of my arrow. There's always so much to learn. The dark red blood of a liver pass through can be deceiving for sure and often times you're best clue is the path/direction of travel of the animal.
In general, I've noticed some trends. Heart shot = all out panic sprint and can cover pretty long distances given the speed at which they are traveling. Lung shot = Startled reaction followed by confusion, often short to expected recovery distance. Gut and/or liver shot = may or may not hunch up, calculated escape route. I leave gut/liver hits for 8 hours and 90% of the time will find the animal in their first and only bed. If bumped, the odds of recovery drop significantly.
You guys ROCKED that recovery - nice work, and congrats to you all!

I gotta say. I have been watching @hushin for a couple of years now. I have seen @bmack19 struggle with all the ups and downs of his elk hunts. I was literally yelling at my phone when I saw him shoot that bull. Then all the highs and lowes and determination. I am so stoked for ya bmack congrats. My year hunting this season has been nothing but lowes. Inspiration abounds in these vids. Thank you so much. Love you guys.
