My school performed this same musical and I was in this number. That was three months ago. Now my school is being invited to perform this again for a national award.
In my community theatre, we are doing Beauty and the Beast and rehearsal are going AMAZING!!! I'm a plate, a villager, the baker, and the young prince and I love our dances to "Be Our Guest" and "Human Again"!!!! We open in June and we run for three weekends!!!!
People complaining about the guys take on lumiere. It is good that each actor puts a unique take on their role be it they're body language, character voices. If lumiere were to be played so identical to Broadways it wouldn't have it's own distinct approach just a mere copy, granted the choreography is somewhat similar. Lumieres voice is great it does however as people say take on a little yoda but the entirety of the performance was fantastic. Clogsworth should be more opposed to lumiere instead of dismissing.
For an "amateur" production, this is pretty damn good. I am obsessed with Beauty and the Beast and I've seen the professional traveling group. "Be Our Guest" was the one memorable musical performance from the play. (Like Memory in Cats) And I must say... WOW! You did fantastic! Just as good as the professional traveling group! Job well done!

The UK Tour had an extremely intense choreography. Only it was missing some backup vocals from the ensemble. And the stairway of dishes and a long dining table! And the verse with an entertaining meal (which the Cruise Line portrayed perfectly)! You should’ve seen the tap dance!
I had the pleasure of working on this show for 4 weeks, and it was the best show Ive ever worked on! Fantastic cast, awesome crew, and 18 amazing performances. And might I add, the best dam can can girls ever!!!
in addition to being one of the three silly girls in my high school's production of this show, i'm also a WHISK! this number is SO wonderful!!!! i LOOOOVE IT!!!!
This is pretty kickin', not going to lie. Lumiere doesn't really bother me...his enthusiasm is great, as is everyone's. Good costumes too. Great rhythm...wow, this is marvelous. :D

I would say be flamboyant! Use your hands on the end of keywords like "Put or service to *test* !". He's a really fun character to play, don't be nervous! Just let the music control you XD!
I LOVE the blocking and costumes for this number. There's so much going on, there's no way to get bored. I admit our production is rather...dull compared to this. Then again, it's only high school and we've got a low budget. It's still loads of fun. I'm Madame de la Grande Bouche, and an off-night napkin. It's so much work, but it's worth it! I love this show so much.
I think it's a gorgeous production. I love Mrs. Potts' voice, and unlike some others, I think Lumiere's voice is fine. The only thing I don't like about him is his movement. His shuffling when he walks reminds me of C3PO from the Star Wars movies. But that's probably more a reflection on the direction and not him as an actor. But the production as a whole? Terrific!
In our performance the napkins have the whole section after the tango for a dance break...im in it...it's veeeery tiring! but worth it cuz it's awesome!
if this is Amateur then my acting group is less than mediocre. The set design and choreography, coordination, and not to mention the wonderful costumes and the actors are simply splendid!

I love what they did!! The costumes are fantastic! The only thing I don't like is some of the blocking and it could stand to be a little faster, but if they don't have an orchestra, then not their fault haha! But all in all, looks and sounds dead on haha
I think is not amateur, probably is not broadway production , indeed, is not broadway production but the vocal ensamble it sound very very profesional like a Broadway Company, Congratulations, Its Amazing...
Have you ever been in a big performance? If you had you would know they're going to have to see your backside SOMETIME. ;) You can't just walk sideways the whole time... Especially when dancing.
Oh my! I've been digging and digging for a good video and this is the best I've seen! There are tons of stage versions of BOG on UA-cam and this is the best. This fall, the CYT (Christian youth theater) I'm in is doing B&TB. I only wish ours could turn out this good! We have a really small budget and a cast of about 60 total, but I hope we can do something cool like this!
I just want to say something…. I was watching the broadway version on UA-cam. It was very annoying. I wanted to see if ANYBODY could get it right! You guys were the only ones who has the spirit of be our guest! I can make a list of everything you did correctly and i have an even longer list of IMPROVEMENTS you made to make a good on stage adaptation!

Absolutely great scene! In a relatively short time, this scene is becoming one of the great classics of musical theatre!
