To me, vocals really felt out of place and I decided to remove them for the purpose of comparing it to the original. Opinions welcome.

This has a real Netflix Daredevil vibe, if you will. I think, however, that a purely instrumental version of this song would have been orchestrated and arranged with a lead instrument filling in for the missing vocals to lend a stronger sense of the piece's melody; a violin probably, given Arcane's general love of the violin in its score.

I love this opening so much, it has that "the statues of the greats" vibe that adds to* the feeling of old stories being told to future generations, without having that scene where someone sits down a youth and literally recalls the tales
oooh yeah!!! i always thought the opening statuesque figures of the characters seemed like they belonged to a story

i remember seeing the reddit post for this. people seemed kinda salted about it, but i think i understand the vibe you're going for by removing the vocals. reminds me of intros like House MD or Fringe. i dig it
I've honestly never been too interested in music with lyrics. I love the music underneath, or music by itself, so it's always nice when someone makes these. I totally understand why people like that music, it's just not my favorite. Doesn't always end up being the same quality without them, but I like listening anyway to find out.
@@ODST_Parker I’m the exact same way. Gotta say though, the songs from Arcane are one of those that make a huge exception for me. But yeah, I agree. I especially love the orchestral soundtrack in the show.
@@nz605 I'm a bit iffy on putting more modern music in a steampunk fantasy world, but I will admit that it really worked in this one. I absolutely love and much prefer the complete score for the show, but I also enjoy the song choices for certain scenes.
@@nz605 yeah I feel like it helped a LOT that the songs were written for the show so the lyrics directly related to it, rather than just slapping in some licensed music like some shows do.

0:38 This part without the vocals, you can really hear the violins (i think they're violins), it makes the intro more haunting rather than upbeat.

im really sad they didnt keep the violins in the version on spotify, i think that vibe is so much better
I actually love this without the vocals because it means you can really appreciate the arrangement and how well they edit on the beat
It's very cool to see this. I prefer the vocals version, but experiencing the same media a little to the left really gives you perspective. You did an amazing job, honestly, I dont know how someone manages to isolate vocals and then take them away. Thabks for the video!
usually vocals are center track so a little bit of inversion can take them away but if they are more blended, there are some premium software that can identify all individual sounds through analysis, and then a user can manually go through and remove them

I think adding the vocals are an anachronism and just makes it seem like it doesn’t fit the universe
@@moniquita720 there are plenty of tutorials on youtube but dont expect to be able to pull it off perfectly on your first try. plus, without premium equipment, some songs may be impossible to remove vocals fro,
believe or not, it's what we learn in electronics engineering
In fact, the more iI hear it the better it seems. Because the statues are still with some motions, it complimented well with the non-vocal hinting that you are watching an actual cinematic show that chimes you into the story.

This is so much better omg, I especially always loved the siren-like sound in chorus and wanted to hear its instrumental. You can hear it even better here at 0:50 and it adds such a sci-fi vibe to the intro.
I just realized the siren-like part starts exactly at when Jinx is in frame. You know what siren sounds tend to remind us: danger, emergency, something wrong... Oh boy.
I think adding a violin in for the melody would be really nice. I would probably prefer that over the orginal
Ok but the chorus? BRILLIANT. The way the music blares and then fades out real quick gives it this feeling of suspension that you barely get a hint of in the original song.

The lyrics adds more intensity to the sequence. Without it, the intro felt soft...
I honestly didn’t think it would be that good but although it feels like something is missing, this song without the lyrics is sooo good.
Obviously the version with the vocals is still better as it just hits and is so nice, without the vocals it sound so intriguing and mysterious.
Like something was building up so I think this score is perfect with or without the vocals.
admittingly, i think the non-vocal is better. Kinda hinting the imagine dragons, without breaking the cinematic immersion of it. I love this one more! Hopefully Riot can learn from this and improve on it for Arcane 2.
I like the vocals more, becausw this one was just missing something. The soundtrach was made to accompany the vocals, so it sound better with them. No vocals could be nice, if thwy were designed to go alone.
they could probably just leave it as the outro with no vocals if they dont go for it as the intro. idk

I watched the cerise for the first time yesterday and finished it, I loved it and the cinematography , art and animations are all amazing and the whole storyline is chefs kiss. And the opening credits just makes the whole vibe better!
What did you use to remove the vocals?
The whole mood changes with that edit. I've seen openings and credits where they either play a whole different song, or turning either the current into an instrumental, or some other song of that nature. To simply change the tone of the episode's start, end, cliifhanger or continuation to the next. I think it's cool.
This is still sexy without the vocals. Especially when you can hear the vocals because you're addicted to this song like I am.
I like this. It's like. "Empty", ig, but it makes you hear the story in the music. The lyrics distract from the plot that exists in just the music
Sound terribly empty at part because there aren't any instrumentals to fill in the vocal parts.

i do really love the vocal intro but this really shows the emphasis on the characters you see this season and doesnt overshadow the intro with "oh look its Imagine Dragons!!"
I love both but this really shows an alternate that would maybe be cooler for anyone wanting to rewatch the intro for sure

the vocals have a certain vibe to it which makes the opening better and you can never skip it

I’m one of the rare ones who loves this 10x more than the vocal version. Sue me, but I never really liked Enemy, esp with Imagine Dragons vocals on it….I can’t relate to the fandom in that sense.🗿 It’s also hella overplayed but at least it’s catchy.
