That scene where Caitlyn was worried that Vi was being hurt and she just comes in and say "my hero" was probably the most adorable thing I've seen in a while.
And when they are on the bridge and the sheriff shoots at ekko, but the thought of Vi immediately goes to caitlyn and she doesn't think twice about going back even if she misses out on the promise she made to jinx. FUCKING ROMANTIC AND I LOVE IT, this is not sex, its just BETTER

@@enniervasti2233 well, just because of Vi x Caitlyn I'm at the doorstep of depression and feeling fucking lonely. And no other thing so far made me feel like this, and I'm not mad bcs of that. It's the other way around, i love it. This show just pushed all the right buttons in my soul
The fact that Vi thought that Caitlyn was cooked by jinx it flashes back to the one moment that she was most vulnerable with Caitlyn because like Vi could have pictured any one of the other scenes her and Caitlyn were in together but she specifically pictured the intimate moment that they had on the bed when she opened up to her and I find that really cute
She's so cute she wanted to remember her in one of the time she fell in love with her, and she was so afraid she make me afraid of jinx, and that is amazing cause i play league, i know Cait wasnt there but the scene, the Vi's face, her feelings, that little frame when she see Cait in their most beautiful and intimate moment, make me think cait was dead and i was afraid. Just amazing...

I'll never get tired of their beautiful moments. And how poetic is, at the beginning of episode 5 "Begs the question, young Kiramman. What are you shooting for?" and in the end of the episode she shoot to save Vi's life...That's so beautifully done.
Vi always had to be the one who protect, the only ones doing it for her were her parents and Vander and she lost'em all. Then Caitlyn came and wanted to protect Violet.

Forgot the little yet meaningful scene where Cait didnt hesitate one second to trade her weapon for medicine to help Vi.
YES! That scene was so great, especially since she was shown relying on it so heavily until that point, like it was HER gun and she just immediately gave it away.
I don't exactly know why I didn't include it, either the scene went on too long and the video got blocked or I think it just didn't really fit in the compilation style for this video 😞
But yeah that was a great moment that I don't have in this

It was also the ultimate move to prove that trust is essential (which Cait insisted on) and therefore exposing herself to the dangers at the spot they where at that moment wasnt as important as her partners health. Also very fond of the fact (or its not shown) that Cait never really talked about it/mentioned either? She did not rub it under her nose that Vi owes her one or anything.
That scene lives rent free in my mind! Like show me a better picture of dedication and loyalty
@@FreshDub200 I'm hoping that it was obvious to Vi since Caitlyn didn't carry around her backpack/gun bag anymore after that.
And that gun was the most important thing she had. It was a prized possession in addition to a necessary protection.
I enjoy all their scenes together, but especially love when they’re in front of the entire council and then start affectionately staring into each other’s eyes while Cait explains to them how great Vi is 😆
And in front of her mother, no less.
Not to mention, when Vi stormed out, Caitlin looked to her mom, who nodded.
She approved.

Personally I think their relationship progression is perfect. It makes sense, coming from such different backgrounds and with Vi’s inherent distrust of everyone from Piltover, that they’d be slow to move into anything explicitly romantic (though they’re really toeing the line there) despite the clear developing of feelings. Now that they’re in a place where they know they can trust each other and being on the same small team trying to prevent the coming war, there won’t be much stopping them from accepting and acting on their feelings when they get a moment to themselves.
Plus.. Mel and Jayce had known eachother for 7 years when they got their smash. Caitlyn and Vi have known eachother for what, 4 days? If course they haven't been intimate yet, lol.

No but like, the way Jinx’s voice wavered in panic, trying to find something worth more than Caitlyn’s life and she resorts to “…you can have Powder back.” And it hurts because Jinx knows that Vi wants to go back to how things were but Jinx knows it’s not possible but still plays that card out of desperation - it’s just so sad all around 😭

@@klaudiam5287 Jinx’s real name is Powder. That’s how Vi remembers her but it’s been years and Powder goes by Jinx now - she’s not the same person anymore and they’re suffering :(

I think the scene when Caitlyn talks with Ekko about how being in the Underworld made her see the problem, and something must be done about it is really overlooked.
The look Vi gives to Caitlyn is something else. You can tell Vi did not expect to hear those words, this was the first time in her life that a person from the topside was genuinely concerned about Zaun. That really made her think everything is possible, and the oil and water can be mixed, you know.
Yeahhh I was thinking about that scene too! That's when the wall between them built from the differences of topside and underground completely melted, allowing for more intimacy

ikr! she looks so confused in the background, despite the fact that Caitlyn's mum just called her a stray. usually, she would be all defensive and proceed to beat the shit out of her, cosnidering she also nearly got shot again, but no, her face is just like "uhhhhh"
They literally had a breakup scene and weren’t even a couple yet
The part that I think deserves more recognition (not that any of these aren’t amazing) is when Caitlyn is asked to identify the owner of the grenades and she hesitates.
She basically went down into the Undercity to track down Jinx, retrieve the stone, and bring her to justice. Yet in this moment she cant even bring herself to name Jinx as the menace, despite all that she’s done, and it’s completely because of Vi.
Caitlyn knows now how much Powder meant to Vi, that Vi blames herself for Powder’s transformation, and that she still has hope that her sister is still reachable. Caitlyn even glances over at Vi who, In an equally touching moment, grips her hand reassuringly and let’s her off the hook by identifying Jinx herself.
Yes!! I don't think anyone's talked about how huge that moment was despite being such a small thing.
Yes I love that! It shows how much her priorities have changed. She's not just thinking as an enforcer trying to prove she's up to the task, she's thinking of how it will affect Vi ♥️
A+ character development.
Ironically Vi naming Jinx ruined everything. Jayce didn't know who she was. He wouldn't have known who to ask Silco to give up in their deal. Which would have resulted in the dinner not happening, Silco not dying, and the council not being nuked.
@@zapspiders92 Yeah but from the start it was Silco's fault, because he gives Marcus a bomb that was clearly made by Jinx.. without that proof nothing of that would have happened (sorry for my English xD)
The fact that Vi also understood this it’s so sweet to me..that’s why she touched her hand to show her the affection she literally deserves because she always took so much care of vi
I love the development their physical affection throughout the series. At first, Vi is standoffish and gruff, which is understandable considering she just got out of a corrupt prison where officers would beat the shit out of her for funsies. The only time she accepts Cait’s touch at all is when she literally can’t move on her own after Sevika kicked her ass in episode 5. However, Vi’s demeanor greatly changes when she’s injured and Cait has to give her that dose of Shimmer. At this point, Vi is complete vulnerable and is on the brink of death. When the Shimmer takes affect, the first thing she sees is Cait gently cradling her face and soothing her through the pain. I think this was the moment when Vi realized that Cair was truly on her side and wanted to protect her from anything that tries to harm her. Then of course there is the bed scene, which marks the first time Vi not only accepts Cait’s touch but grasped on to it, leaning into Cait like she’s her anchor or safe space. Vi has always been forced into the position of the fearless leader and protector so seeing her finally embrace her vulnerability and lean on those she loves for support is so beautiful 🤧
It is maybe a bit far fetched, but your comment reminded me of how Singed tells Viktor that shimmer makes change easier. And in this scene shimmer also helps Vi change.
I like how at 5:56, it's uncertain whether Cait's crying or if that's just the rain.

Some people say this relationship is rushed, but despite them knowing each other for only a few days, it feels really well balanced to me. I don't feel like it's rushed at all. Like what others have pointed out, these two have way more chemistry than Jayce and Mel, and they've had more screen time together. I'm really eager to see more of this pair in season 2. I've become obsessed with them. ♥
To be fair, Mel didn't sleep with Jayce out of 'just' love. She's manipulator. And because of her Jayce grew to be egoist asshole, which is why I hate this Noxian chick. Vi and Caitlyn didn't even need to have "bed scene" per se to show their feelings to each other. I mean, if i got so emotionaly demolished after watching this show, and i had to commit to drinking liquids of questionable legality just because of Vi and Cait ... there has to be something in this.
Its pretty balanced to me and there's also another reason for this is that Vi has been in jail for a long time and Caitlyn was one of the first people who was gentle and nice to her from a very long time since the last time she was out in the world, so it does explain the bond between them as well
Dunno, I'd expect more reservation after enforcers killed Vi's family.

After watching the series twice and this video a few times, I realized that here at 2:20, Vi realizes that Caitlyn has feelings for her and Vi starts being more romantic with her
If you think about, since Vi has been in jail since she was like 15, and only hung around her with sister, adopted brothers, and adoptive father, Caitlyn is probably the only person she's had a romantic interaction with. So I believe Vi will be pretty oblivious to that stuff, accept for the fact that she's a natural flirt. While Caitlyn has had more free time and probably knows better when she likes someone and how to deal with it.
There is that exact moment when you can see Vi realize that. Just for a split second, but it's there. Damn, animation is just spot on

the gestures of physical affection between them are so touching, the knee patting, face touching etc. Very sweet but doesn't feel forced
it's unbelievable how much this scene 4:55 touches me! Vi has such a hard shell. But you can see how vulnerable she is in that moment. I mean just look her in the eyes.

I found it notable that when Cait was trying to figure out the case on Silco, Jayce brings Cait flowers, but they are simply tossed aside and forgotten about. She ain't interested in the Golden Boy despite her long standing close relationship with him. It was a subtle scene that had good metaphor and it proved she's been out for girls all along and that Vi and Cait are meant to be.
that's not the reason why Jayce brought those flowers for her. Those flowers as get well gifts. Not romantic gifts. and a relationship between them was never going to happen because in episodes 1 - 3,(before the time jump) Jayce was 24 YEARS OLD while Caitlyn was around the same age as Vi which according to the league of legends archives, was 17 YEARS OLD during that time. Caitlyn was most likely 16 or 17 during that time. Some even speculated she might be 2 years younger than Vi.

U can see the realisation seeping in, cogs working around whilst she thinks to herself "wait she trusts me?". Because when they were sheltering from Silco his goons, remember that Vi replied with "You topsiders always find a way to screw us" when Cait told her that "this can only work if we trust eachother". Damn more than half a year ago I watched this and I'm still discovering new details and just EVERYTHING

Arcane is so brilliantly written. This romance sub-plot is romance done right. Nothing is ever said directly but the chemistry is on point. It's both subtle and very obvious in a genuinely charming way. And it's sweet - like a cupcake!
These two are the heart of soul of this show imo. I love well done romantic subplots.

I want to point out Jinx had to have fully dressed Caitlyn in her uniform before the table scene. Thats kinda decent of her considering whats about to happen there
I love how both of them, especially Vi, are pretty rough and tough, and try to keep focused, but when it comes to eachother their soft and gentle and caring. Both of them. Willing to sacrifice their lives for the other. Once they began to trust eachother more it was so amazing to see they way they respected one another even though they are so different. I’ve loved seeing how differently they react with eachother versus the other characters in the show. Truly magical experience, I always get a shiver down my spine seeing some of their interactions.
Look at their eyes at 2:22, there’s so much freaking emotion, Vi basically melting into what is probably the first positive physical contact she’s really had in years, staring in a bit of wonder at this girl that’s completely changed her world, and she just stares, it’s beautiful.
So true. Vi's loneliness in prison following the death of her entire family is often overlooked. She believes her entire family to be dead, remember her last image of Powder was seeing her crying with Silco (knife in hand) standing over her ready for the kill. She then spends years in prison, beaten by basically everyone (certainly the guards) with no one she can trust and the images of her family (though mostly her sister) going through her mind. The extended lore (not shown in the series) show the guards logbook, stating that she screamed for Powder so much, the guards though she was crying out for a drug.
When Caitlyn meets her, she has accepted this hell as her life. Everything has been taken from her. Until she sees her sister's drawings and realises she is still alive, only to find out she willingly works for the very man who destroyed her family and seems to love him for it. Then Caitlyn, a stranger and (former) enforcer helps her, thus showing how starved for affection and deeply traumatised Vi truly is.
I think they don't even need a kissing scene.. their chemistry and the certain moments they share are proof enough of how they slowly let the other person in, despite the wild rift in between.. so beautifully written and animated!

2:14 I loved this scene so much. Caitlyn's touch is so gentle and you can see when Vi flinches the 2nd time, Cait's hands glide without hesitation up her neck to her face/cheek, which is very adorable and gay lol. Also, when Cait found one of Silco's workers on the airship after Jinx's attack, she gets out a napkin/handkerchief and puts it on his wound, keeping a distance saying the same thing she did to Vi "Easy, easy" anyway, loved the vid
I just f*cking love how slow and balanced this relationship is...its not just some rushed gay couple that producers wanted for their token lgbtq representation, but a genuine pair with incredible chemistry that care for and understand one another. Nothing is a "reach" when you observe their interactions, its all there, and its executed so well. The tiny details as others mentioned, like how Vi slowly gives in to Caitlin's touch and shows her vulnerability willingly by the end of the season. How Caitlyn shoots for Vi in that one scene, showing her answer to that question the general asked her when she was younger. How she continuously protects Vi, who all her life was a protector of her family and only knew loss until she found Cait. Theres more in the rest of the comment section. I love this couple and how they were written #violynftw
Also there's no signs of toxicity whatsoever. I love how they contrasted these two's relationship to jayce and mel's, which was more power play really, and manipulation. They were rushed too, unlike violyn. A nice switch up for once. No doubt i cant wait for season 2

They care so much for violyn. Riot is a chinese company, so... Y'know. But the writers had been fighting for it for soooo long. They sneakily added lines to vi and cait in the game like when cait dies she says something like "tell vi that i... *drops dead*" and they get a boost when they're on the same team. I wouldn't be surprised if the higher ups at riot vehemently disagree with their relationship but the writers are hard headed so they make the relationship obvious without saying "i like you" or a kiss.

That's because the purpose of the sex scene wasn't meant to perceived as positive. It's a literal foil between Jayce's and Viktor's ambitions and priorities in this moment. The flashes of Viktor literally almost dying are *meant* to make the scene unsettling to watch.
