Yet she remained calm, was irreligious, sought reform and finally, marketed herself as a lifelong virgin (what a stroke of genius!). England was blessed with her reign. I'm taking notes.
Not to mention she spoke, read and wrote 5 languages, was an expert horse rider, a hunter, did expert needle point and was a math whiz. She was surrounded by men who wanted her to be queen. She made it a point to be at all meetings. She was large and in charge.

The modern interpretation of Elizabeth makes her likable and real. I always thought those old paintings of her were horrible and couldn’t possibly be her true appearance.
While they didn't consider her a beauty, I think we can agree that she was very pretty. Elizabeth I is my favorite queen after Anne Bolyn. I love how you pulled away the layers to show her in her glory and beauty. Your work is amazing.
She was considered beautiful when she was younger! It was after the smallpox and the scarring and heavy makeup that she wasn’t considered as beautiful anymore, but people did describe her as beautiful when she was younger in court, especially compared to her sister Mary. Also similar to her mother Anne, it was her intelligence and confidence that made her even more attractive even if some of her features were not conventionally beautiful, her personality made her very desired.

Queen Elizabeth I is known to be the best queen and rightfully so. I also think she was the only queen who didn’t have a husband during her reign. She was the only ruler which is just amazing. Your interpretations of the historical figures never disappoint. They’re just amazing. I love them.
An incredible woman! As a woman of "a certain age" myself the modernization of her more mature self is fantastic. She looks so beautiful in both but I love the more mature one.
Elizabeth was a wonder. Intelligent, strong, decisive, a great Monarch. And all of this born from trauma and uncertainty and fear from her earliest days. And in a time when women were thought to be less than. I really admire her strength.
Your modern day recreation animated portraits are splendid! Such a stroke of genius on your part and beautifully captured. Thank you for an educational and moving podcast. -Penny B
This is absolutely amazing, stunning & moving...I always believed this ICONIC woman's portraits/paintings did not do her beauty justice. To see Queen Elizabeth I in such beauty and light brought a tear to my eye. BRAVO...
One of the best modern interpretation of how she would have looked like today. I image her a president, a prime minister, a woman of actual modern stately power. Amazing. Thank you.
I've always felt rather weird and dissatisfied about my double eye creases but this actually makes me feel a little better! Your portrait are really beautiful and it's cool to hear that I share that trait with a historical figure.
This video is beautiful. I have studied Tudor history for many years and this is the first time that I actually felt something as opposed to gathering knowledge. I truly felt her. Thank you for sharing your excellent work
Thanks for the facial reconstruction. I think she is pretty with today's makeup and hair standards. In most portraits, she doesn't look like she had eyebrows. It's amazing what a difference adding eyebrows makes in her looks.
Just when I think you can't outdo yourself, Becca. My word. This is just such a vivid recreation: Elizabeth just leaps into our world, and comes to life! I love how you captured her humor and wit in that image, too. I've got to stop as I'm gushing, but I think other images to kind of round out the Tudor collection would be: Henry VII, Edward VI, Mary I (Bloody Mary), Philip II of Spain, and Robert Dudley would be so awesome to round out the family (and I do consider Robert Dudley to be an honorary Tudor as he would have been one if he could have, Roberts have to stick together after all lol).
Wow the recreations you did, if they show her as she truly was, feels strange to me that she was never viewed as beautiful, because she was actually quite stunning. And the part where Sir Dudley died and she was found on her deathbed with his letter had me in tears. What a spectacular woman.
I love that I stumbled upon your channel. I've always thought the paintings didn't do these women any justice and made them all look, well, ugly. You have done such justice to them and in my opinion are showing their true beauty. I love that you also tell about their lives. Please keep it going. I very much enjoy your work.
Oh the modern interpretation of her at 41 is amazing! She looks intelligent, vibrant and fun-loving - the best of a woman who has properly lived. I hope I age that well.
The recreation of Elizabeth in her 20s is very pretty indeed. Some of you have said she reminds you of Meryl Streep. I can see that in how Meryl looked in the 1970s, but I think this image of Elizabeth resembles Saoirse Ronan even more so.
The recreated looks of Elizabeth are actually quite striking and beautiful. The 2D portraits probably don’t do her justice. Her mother was Anne an afterall who was an attractive woman.
Absolutely love this. Thank you so much for the informative history and amazing recreations of a much beloved Queen. Elizabeth resembles so much to Cate Blanchet and Meryl Streep. Elizabeth I truly was a mix of both Anne and Henry. She had the famous red/gold Tudor hair and pale complexion, with her mothers beautiful dark eyes and oval-shaped face. She had her mothers intelligence and charisma, but her fathers fierce temper. One can simply imagine the sheer power she held when standing in her presence.
That would have required her to take a husband. Picking the right husband was a near impossibility. No matter who she choose a civil war almost a certainty when she produced an heir. The family of her husband would then be at odds with other families who felt they had a more legitimate claim to the throne. She had already seen enough intrigue and didn't want anymore of it.
The fact that I loved about Elizabeth (which is even evident in their portraits) was the truth that has always been said of her: She was the spitting image of her mother with her father's coloring.
In a handful of ways, Elizabeth I was better than her father, Henry VIII. Though she did see some difficulties in her reign as queen, including the challenge of being a prisoner of her own sister, the execution of Mary Queen of Scots, the conflict of the Spanish Armada, etc... I personally believe that she had succeeded as a leader where her father, Henry VIII had failed.
"a handful of ways"? I'd say all of them, except maybe not producing an heir. you really said it all when you said she succeeded at ruling, where he failed
Elizabeth failed as a queen by not producing an heir which led to the gunpower plot and eventually the English civil war. Her successor James I because he didn't have a legitimate right to the throne, just like Augustus did with Caesar and Stalin did with Lenin, Deng did with Mao, created a personality cult around her in the manner of tyrants throughout history, which has persisted to the present day.
Beautiful job with the renderings and storytelling. I loved hearing about Elizabeth I's storied life, and especially to see her rendered so life-like was truly remarkable. Thank you for the education!
I really enjoyed this especially the images at the end. I have to say that the modernization of her face, including her smile actually make her look, by today’s standards, quite beautiful. Very nicely done and thank you.

The final older recreation of Elizabeth, as she smiled at us across the ages & thru your brilliant lens suggested Meryl Streep, a modern queen of the arts. What conversations they would have, eh?! This is such an interesting portrait of her. I can really see both her mother and her father reflecting back at me. Such a lifelike creation. Enjoyed this very much.
The young Elisabeth touched me, so close to Henry's portraits, whereas the older Elisabeth inspires by her mother's eyes and a great sense of independence shining through...great work!!!
This was a great video. Elizabeth I is one of my favorite historical figures. My family is descended through Mary Boleyn and my own sister looks very much like the modern version of Elizabeth, with that beautiful red hair and dark eyes. Their facial structures are similar also. I always envied that red hair. I married my husband who has red hair and later we learned he is descended from Mary Queen of Scots. Did we get red heads? NO! But out of our 18 grandchildren 5 five red hair, and one granddaughter is much as I would imagine Elizabeth was, red hair and all. This was lovely. Thank you.
I love how you are able to narrate truthfully their history in a nutshell. Her recreation in modern style appears to show a very likable and intelligent lady.
Elizabeth’s story is both fascinating and sad at the same time. I feel like if she were respected by her father more, her life would’ve been very, very different. King Henry the 8th might’ve lived longer, as well, because he might’ve wanted to spend more time with her, instead of shunning her and killing her mother. Great video as always! I always admire your work and dedication! Could undo a video on King Henry the 8th, Cathrine Parr, and China’s only empress, Wu Zeitan? I’d love it if you would! ☺️
She was so interesting. I love that all of Henry’s anger/indifference towards her was kind of symbolically punished by Elizabeth never marrying and continuing the Tudor line
@@RoyaltyNowStudios interesting that QEI wanted to punish her father by not continuing his line. I'm sure her early experience of her father's tyranny to his wives and Thomas Seymour's lack of fidelity to his wife put her off too. Her successor, King James was a also a Tudor via Henry VIII's sister Margaret.
Elizabeth I certainly has made an impact on English history. Maybe an icon in itself. Tudor history is so fascinating and definitely inspiring. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos.
Elizabeth did not just inherit her mother's dark eyes. Like Anne Boleyn, she had a long, oval, high-cheekboned face, pointed chin, slender figure and long- fingered hands. From Henry she got her colouring, arched eyebrows , acquiline nose and tight lips.
I really love the depictions of these in modern settings and seeing the smiles on their faces. Seeing Elizabeth as a modern woman is very touching somehow. I can not get enough of this channel.
THANK YOU! I got tears in my eyes when seeing your interpretations. Simply beautiful. I have always admired this queen and you have brought her to life❤️
That was a beautiful recreation. I can imagine Elizabeth seeing herself like that in the mirror. However, it is untrue that Elizabeth never mentioned her mother. She had great respect for Anne Boleyn and put in a lot of efforts to make apparent her disdain for her dad's actions. She surrounded herself with the Boleyn relatives (Mary's daughter who may be her half sister, the Howard family). Even her governess Kat Ashley was a Boleyn connection!
Who wouldn't! When daddy is a serial killer. I would love to go back in time and blow their minds telling these people that the babies sex is determined by the male not the female!!
_“She surrounded herself with the Boleyn relatives (Mary’s daughter who may be her half sister, the Howard family).”_ This doesn’t make sense. Can you please re-write it as normal English sentences that can be easily followed? Mary, the half sister of Elizabeth, wasn’t related to Anne. And what does the Howard family have anything to do with this?
@@Skyebright1 I think you’re thinking of the Chequers ring, which was mentioned in this very video. It shows a portrait of Anne on one side of the ring’s locket, and a portrait of Elizabeth on the other side.
I get so invested in the history and storytelling that I forget that this video is about how Elizabeth looked like haha I get emotional when I think about their personal lives and hardships this channel really makes these famous figures to be seen as human

She was the epitome of the anthem Rule Britania. I have always admired Elizabeth I due to her absolute determination to never have a man tell her what to do. She was fierce in her belief of herself and set a marvelous example for the next Elizabeth to sit the throne. Thank you for this video. The look of her in her mid 20s had me remembering Cate Blanchette as Elizabeth in the movie by the same name but I felt more of an affinity for her in the modern picture of her.

These images are really good for humanizing historical figures we've augmented to mythic status. I love the reconstructed "modernized" image of the more aged Elizabeth from the Darnley portrait. Thank you for doing this!
Your modern interpretation took my breath away and made me tear up, quite unexpectedly! I don't think there is any UA-cam channel I more appreciate and admire than yours. I would be beyond happy if you were to take on Alexander Hamilton...so much has been made of him, his looks and his charm, but I can find no reconstruction anywhere that even approaches what you do. Thank you for your consideration and of all that you do.
Love it. Although her mother was murdered by her father when she was two, I feel (after reading a number of historical books etc) that Elizabeth would have been more her mother’s daughter than we are lead to believe. Yes she has the Tudor red hair, but it appears looking at recreated portraits of Anne Boleyn as well as written descriptions she had similar features to her mother. It’s very likely she had more her mother’s intellect and personality as well. It has been quoted of Anne Boleyn’s intellect that “On a bad day Anne was Henry’s equal. But on a good day she was his superior.”
@24:40 give her a platinum wig and all of a sudden, you have The Devil wears Prada! Seriously, I thought it was Meryl! Anyone else? Dear creator, watching your reconstructions is a few minutes of pure pleasure of suspension - with a usually breathing reveal. You are very talented Bravo!

The modern interpretation of Elizabeth makes her likable and real. I always thought those old paintings of her were horrible and couldn’t possibly be her true appearance.
Neither is this one. Those old paintings were probably more accurate. She liked her sweets and had horrible teeth.
While they didn't consider her a beauty, I think we can agree that she was very pretty. Elizabeth I is my favorite queen after Anne Bolyn. I love how you pulled away the layers to show her in her glory and beauty. Your work is amazing.
Thank you so much. I love both her and Anne so much!
Hi Rose 🌹 I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌹🌹🌹🌹
@@RoyaltyNowStudios me too i love even Queen Elizabeth II
Queen Elizabeth I is known to be the best queen and rightfully so. I also think she was the only queen who didn’t have a husband during her reign. She was the only ruler which is just amazing. Your interpretations of the historical figures never disappoint. They’re just amazing. I love them.
Isn't it amazing how a smile can change so much. She looked like somebody you would like to know.
An incredible woman! As a woman of "a certain age" myself the modernization of her more mature self is fantastic. She looks so beautiful in both but I love the more mature one.
Exactly!
Elizabeth was a wonder. Intelligent, strong, decisive, a great Monarch. And all of this born from trauma and uncertainty and fear from her earliest days. And in a time when women were thought to be less than. I really admire her strength.
That’s the best documentary I’ve seen on Elizabeth I. I really loved the real life interpretations at the end. She has a Meryl Streep look about her.
Yess some of those paintings look just like meryl Streep...
I love the quality these videos are showing more and more of. Love the history deep dives before the reconstruction.
Thank you! So glad you are enjoying it!
@@RoyaltyNowStudios ....
I'd love to see Anne Neville and Elizabeth Woodville as well as Edward IV.
Your modern day recreation animated portraits are splendid! Such a stroke of genius on your part and beautifully captured. Thank you for an educational and moving podcast.

Amazing. Thank you.
We need another like her.
I've always felt rather weird and dissatisfied about my double eye creases but this actually makes me feel a little better! Your portrait are really beautiful and it's cool to hear that I share that trait with a historical figure.
I love them! You share that with Elizabeth that’s so cool
Love your channel. If I were a history teacher, I’d show this channel from time to time to make the youngins appreciate history in a fun way
This video is beautiful. I have studied Tudor history for many years and this is the first time that I actually felt something as opposed to gathering knowledge. I truly felt her. Thank you for sharing your excellent work
Thank you so very much ❤️
I agree! I really felt her too! You have a wonderful gift. Many thanks for sharing this with us!
The contemporary reconstruction is
so relatable and lifelike! Beautifully done!
I got a very eerie feeling that the modern portrait was silently saying...yes...I am Elizabeth. Powerful. One of the best I have seen of your work.
Thank you, as always Robert!
Wow the recreations you did, if they show her as she truly was, feels strange to me that she was never viewed as beautiful, because she was actually quite stunning. And the part where Sir Dudley died and she was found on her deathbed with his letter had me in tears. What a spectacular woman.
There are records of many who called her beautiful.
This one really took my breath away! You can see such likeness to Anne and Henry. It’s truly amazing!
😮your so right Lizzy looks like her parents and so intelligent
I love that I stumbled upon your channel. I've always thought the paintings didn't do these women any justice and made them all look, well, ugly. You have done such justice to them and in my opinion are showing their true beauty. I love that you also tell about their lives. Please keep it going. I very much enjoy your work.
Those early portraits give off a Meryl Streep vibe in her younger days. The queen was and still is a fascinating woman.
I was thinking the same
And as she contracted smallpox at age 28 she had a badly pockmarked face afterwards.
Lol was just going to write the same.
I was thinking that as well.
That was my exact thought!
Idk but 24:48 I see Hilary Clinton 😄
Nah!!! Cate Blanchett
And yet Saoirse played Mary of Scots instead 😭
@@anneneville6255oh that's just cruel 😭😆
True, looks a lot like Saoirse!!
I love the Tudor era history, especially with Elizabeth. She’s fascinating to say the least!
It’s sad that the Tudor Line came to an end with Elizabeth I but as someone who’s averse to marriage and seen things, I don’t blame her.
She was very clever and paid attention to what was going on around her
Tudor patrilineal line ended, yes, but James of Scotland was a Tudor through Margaret, Henry's sister.
Her staying single was a political strategy not an emotional decision. People weren't suffering self interest unril the 1980"s.
@@cincin4515
_“People weren’t suffering self interest unril [SIC] the 1980”s [SIC].”_
*Huh??*
I literally welled up when watching this. Amazing that you brought her back for today.
You know it's close when it moves you to tears.
Her father ruled with his crotch.
"a handful of ways"? I'd say all of them, except maybe not producing an heir. you really said it all when you said she succeeded at ruling, where he failed
What are you on about?
Also, she was not a mass murderer!
Your images of her smiling at the end is wonderful. They make Elizabeth truly come to life.
Your rendition of her is stunning. I can see Henry in her. I like to think this is what she truly looked like.
The modern version looks like a fiction novel author, huh? Haha.
I rarely comment on the videos I watch, or the channels I subscribe too, but your collection of work is so touching, and invigorating in its gentle, seemingly unbiased honesty that I just had to say thank you for sharing your gift with me and everyone else. As a lover of history, I've often wondered what these historical people would have really looked like and I'm so grateful to have lived to see someone with your talent bring these people to life. Thank you. Your gift is touching so many of us in so many ways. Thank you for making our dreams come true in a way that we can all feel good about. Please keep it up! I look forward to watching every one of your videos.
Beautiful! She’s my favorite historical figure. She definitely had her fathers charisma, intelligence and political astuteness plus the Tudor strawberry gold hair. But her face looks so much like her mother to me. Very well done. 👏👏👏
Thrilled to find your amazing channel! Unique blend of academic artistry in history presented with entertaining imagination. You are the complete package! The final older recreation of Elizabeth, as she smiled at us across the ages & thru your brilliant lens suggested Meryl Streep, a modern queen of the arts. What conversations they would have, eh?! Thank you !,
This is such an interesting portrait of her. I can really see both her mother and her father reflecting back at me. Such a lifelike creation. Enjoyed this very much.
Magnificent! She is one of my favorite women in history. And when you brought her to "life," she was absolutely beautiful. Thank you for your channel.
I love the way that you tell the story of Elizabeth, she is a Queen that has always fascinated me even from childhood and I love the reconstructions
Thank you.
The modem interpretation of Elizabeth is amazing! She looks lovely and graceful, as though she could be performing in Riverdance.
I'm obsessed with these videos and facial recreations absolutely love seeing these famous faces smile.
I love how you are able to narrate truthfully their history in a nutshell. Her recreation in modern style appears to show a very likable and intelligent lady.
That was probably the best 25 minutes I have spent on UA-cam. Thank you!!
Henry had syphilis. It's amazing he had children at all.
Congratulations! On creating this most intriguing series offering informative and imaginative approach to historical figures.
Elizabeth I certainly has made an impact on English history. Maybe an icon in itself. Tudor history is so fascinating and definitely inspiring.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos.
Beautiful documentary and shockingly effective and emotional recreations. To go from the 1500s look to a modern recreation is otherworldly.
Most enjoyable view of a very great Tudor Queen.
Wow so crazy to see how u make her come to live!!! Thank u for all ur hard work & gods bless every1.
Henry’s beautiful pale skin was commented on during his youth. Elizabeth inherited this and his red hair.
lol and yet some person in the comments is claiming they were all black……someone needs to lay off the crack pipe.
I really love the depictions of these in modern settings and seeing the smiles on their faces. Seeing Elizabeth as a modern woman is very touching somehow. I can not get enough of this channel.
This is so inspiring. She was a better ruler than her father
That's because grand-dad ruled with his emotions. My cousin ruled with her head. As it should be.
I think she had a portrait of her mother that was a necklace
Yeah Mary’s daughter and son were part of Elizabeth’s court
_“She surrounded herself with the Boleyn relatives (Mary’s daughter who may be her half sister, the Howard family).”_
This doesn’t make sense. Can you please re-write it as normal English sentences that can be easily followed? Mary, the half sister of Elizabeth, wasn’t related to Anne. And what does the Howard family have anything to do with this?
@@Skyebright1
I think you’re thinking of the Chequers ring, which was mentioned in this very video. It shows a portrait of Anne on one side of the ring’s locket, and a portrait of Elizabeth on the other side.
It’s so interesting that Queen Elizabeth the 1st became Queen at 25. Queen Elizabeth the 2nd also became Queen at 25 too.
Wow! Thats so interesting! Wonder why that fun fact has not been talked about more?
Elizabeth is my middle name, after them.
I get so invested in the history and storytelling that I forget that this video is about how Elizabeth looked like haha I get emotional when I think about their personal lives and hardships this channel really makes these famous figures to be seen as human
This was excellent. Thank you so much for producing top quality works of history. And also for allowing it to be free to anyone that's interested. Great work
how can they not consider her a beauty back then?! she’s beautiful
She looks like someone I'd want to know. Awesome artistry.
My heart tells me Queen Elizabeth I would be (is?) very pleased with your interpretation. Well done.
i have watched many of your wonderful videos, but This is my favourite. When Elizabeth "looks" out at me , i actually cried! I have no idea why. I just did.
I just adore this channel. I never really cared about history before but you tell it so well and the recreations are amazing! Just love it!
I just get chills every time I see your recreations. Amazing work and even more amazing documentary.
This is becoming my favorite channel. I love history and I am an artist. Your work and story telling are exceptional.
Holy cow those recreations are amazing. They really do justice to the movie casting of Cate Blanchet and The Queen herself. What an immaculate presentation. Thank you.
Two Elizabeth’s , two great queens . Both served the nation with dignity and strength.
God bless you both and thank you
Another amazing video. The story of Elizabeth and her mom has always fascinated me. Lovely recreations. Thank you!
Thanks!
Excellent review. I especially liked the lifelike portrait and modern interpretation at the end.
I think the ring with her and her mother's portraits is pretty interesting. It's essentially a symbol of defiance against her father's mania.
I had no idea how amazing your work here was. I had seen the channel and subscribed, but hadn't watched one of your videos yet, until now..... And I am so pleasantly surprised by just how well thought out and historically accurate your information is! And the recreations are AMAZING! THANK YOU! Now I'm off to binge on the rest of your videos! Lol. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! We take pride in being as accurate as possible :)
She looked just like her dad! And the amazing thing about this video is that the recreation really shows the resemblance to her father.
I absolutely LOVE all of your videos but lately have been especially loving the elongated history section at the beginning that I have noticed lately. The recreations are what attracted me to the channel but the research that's done is just such a great synopsis. I can digest the information so well that I'm regurgitating it to anybody who will listen. lol. please keep doing what your doing :)
I’d love to see Lucrezia Borgia brought to life!
Omg, yess!
She is supposed to be very beautiful
This is an excellent suggestion!
