I love that you could’ve ended the story with the first one, but you continued it in a meaningful and fresh way while also showing that C16 is a different character than the previous one and also having the story conclude.
I love this beautiful creation of yours. It really gave me a message of what the first clone was probably thinking from the start. “If I’m going to die, I want to live first.”
They're home now, she deserved to see Earth's prettyness before her imminent death I like how the following clone put a hand on her shoulder in a sort of grateful gesture
that was a graphic way for the previous clone to die, but at least they were able to see the flowers, grass, tress and sun for one final time before passing away. good job on the animation.
"I like to imagine the crow tries to collect the brass that the sniper leaves behind. Picturing him having a small hoard of shell casings because he likes the Big Shiny, even if he has to deal with the shot to get it." A comment from The Crow's Nest video
And this is what frustrates me about modern media and Hollywood. They spend millions upon millions of dollars to make narrative slop. Meanwhile this short story, with nothing but context and body language, has me drawn in and fascinated. Thank you for your hard work.
I'm not sure if Femscouts actions have botched the mission or not? It looks like they were preparing to return to earth but her hasty decision may have just doomed them rather than saved them. Also with the crow at the end, is this a reference to the crows nest? if that animation in the same universe that would be awesome! Either way 10/10 as usual! Keep up the good work!
Wouldn't think so, it seems like the one clone only rule was for the sake of conserving resources and probably also any psychological issues that could arise from meeting a clone of yourself
This is so well-made. You’ve pulled off the atmosphere and story fantastically and I love it’s all done without dialogue. Can’t wait to see what else you’ve got in store for this universe!
i am legitimately befuddled this does not have nearly enough attention this deserves, this is so good omfg, so many moments i had to pause to take a moment to say how cool/well written this and the first one you've done is. just to point one thing that i thought was really cool i didnt see anyone mention i feel you should feel good about (if you ever even see this lol) the shot of her punching the glass out in space is actually ingenuous. i understand the limit in voice actors/lines and the restraint of having it be zero dialogue make yelling scenes like that difficult, putting us out into space and making that absolute gut renching meltdown be completely silent to make us even more unnerved while still having it make sense because in being space is silent. actually genius, great great great way to make an amazing scene with fewer resources to your exposal. ten outta ten
Thank you for noticing that! When writing this I got that idea to even more emphasize the feeling of isolation and having the void of space separating her from a proper life on Earth. Having no voice actors is a challenge, but a welcome one to make you think for other workarounds. Comments like this always make my day, so thank you for that and have a Happy New Year!
@@Dominzki im so glad i was able to make your day! i didnt even think about the isolation aspect with it too, augh so many layers, i hope you have a great new years too!:))))
Maaan... Straight to the feelings. The story you showed is built enough for me to not ask "why didn't the program use cryo-hibernation pods" or "why didn't they use a 65 years timer on the clon-printer" (but did stack up all that canned food for at least 2/3 of a century of clone lifes). Well, another setting, another set of technologies I guess.
Wow. I thought the first video already stood great as a self-contained video about human perseverance, struggling to keep the human race alive even when alone in the face of hopelessness. I definitely didn't expect a sequel, but this video too delivers its own distinct message about hope and the drive to see it through, even moments away from death. I find it really tragic how in the end, two clones were never able to meet, yet bittersweet that the first clone's last sight was of a restored world. 7:26 was the scene that hit me the hardest. It's also great how these two clones felt like very distinct characters. The first one had been desperate, bitter, even reckless and selfish. Meanwhile, the second one was careful enough to put on an entire suit before leaving the ship, heeding the radiation warnings. Excellent sound design too, especially with the complete silence while she punched the glass. Really added to the atmosphere. As a side note, I wonder if you could have animated the grass or trees swaying slightly in the wind (if possible with those models), to help make the restored world feel more alive. Just a tiny detail I couldn't help but notice while watching.
Thank you! ^^ The trees' leaves were completely rigid and early tests of making them sway didn't work sadly, looked much too clunky. About the grass though, I don't know why I never tried it for them but there actually _WAS_ sliders for swaying ;_; a bit late now but at least I know next time haha, thanks for pointing it out!
I watched the first and loved it, original story and genuinely thought it was amazing, this is an amazing continuation and I love how you tied it in with the animation with the sniper, it would be interesting to see these characters interact in some way in the future
This animation series is truly astounding with regard to visual details, narrative, music and especially the characters and their expressions. I saw this sequel about a week ago, and since then it has had a profound effect on me emotionally that I struggle to find words to describe properly. Your storytelling method is that excellent, because I think I fully understood C16's frustrations with her contributions to the Mission and being both so close to success as well as her inevitable demise. I felt overwhelming feelings of sadness and guilt during her outburst and then again as she eyed the skeletal remains, a reminder of her own end to come. Not to mention the heart-breaking shot of her corpse, with metaphorical tears of blood dripping down a frozen smile - combined with the quiet, sombre yet powerful piano track, it made me cry; it has all stuck with me for a good long while. Despite that, I am glad that she was given a last chance to experience the calm of Earth's blissful flora. I should hope that C17 continues to honour her predecessor's sacrifices and legacy in the next instalment of this beautiful story. Rambling aside, absolutely amazing work from you and I can't wait to see more! 10/10 👏👏👏♥
Thank you very much for the review! Reading comments like these makes me really happy about what I had wanted to portray succeeded at bringing up emotions ^^
i feel alive thanks to your work, i've been struggling to find entertaining videos on youtube for a while now, and although it was only 20 minutes in total your animation has brought more joy to me than the rest of youtube has in over 5 months moreover, i would go and say it is probably the best piece of storytelling i have watched, though i wouldn't say it's that accomplishing due to my young age since tf2 and many other games are younger, there are few that can say that they get that sort of praise so well done on making so eye-catchingly beautiful, and i just have to ask you to make sure to end it the same way breaking bad ended, still wanted but not bloated in anyway like the walking dead
Ty very much! No worries, my aim is to keep this series without any useless filler and when it is time to finish the story, I intend for it to happen in a satisfying way and not a lousy fart like GoT for example. I'm happy that you've enjoyed it so far! ^^
Well, at least she passed somewhere nice and warm than somewhere cold and dark. Still what a shame. Will there be a continuation or was this the finale.
I love that you could’ve ended the story with the first one, but you continued it in a meaningful and fresh way while also showing that C16 is a different character than the previous one and also having the story conclude.
Thank you! Though the full story isn't quite concluded yet. Some more is in the works ;)
I love this beautiful creation of yours. It really gave me a message of what the first clone was probably thinking from the start. “If I’m going to die, I want to live first.”
I love the reference to the Crows Nest video, vocally went "OOOH" as I were watching the premiere with friends. Small thing but got me exited
Haha yea it felt like a fun way to introduce that video to be part of this universe :D
They're home now, she deserved to see Earth's prettyness before her imminent death

It was as if C17 was telling C16 to rest easy.
honestly didnt expect to have such a strong emotional feeling while watching this. thank you for making these
Being able to tell a story without dialogue is ingenious. I wish I could do that for my animation/storytelling. I guess we all can't be creative.
It takes practice that's all, you can be able to do it too! ^^
Not with that attitude
The Storywriting and the animation, the timr you took has paid off, mate.
You are a great animator with a great future ahead.
The music, animation, Dominzki you have really outdone yourself this time!! Incredible job, sincerely.
The emotions I feel after watching this and home...
Unforgettable.
Great emotional ending - keep it up! 👍👍
If there is ever a 3rd, I hope the new clone finds a way to live a long time
And if there is going to be 4th one, I wish first ever clone meets the latest one.
@@Amaraa-wo4nyscrew that, I wanna unbox some humans!
I can say that this isn't the last that you've seen of this universe ;)
You might not of seen but each clone has had a longer lifespan and the monitor said this one will live upwards of 90 years
0:47 top line
So well made as usual
It felt like watching an old Pixar short animation. lovely!
I want the sequel....especially with the crow at the end...
Welp si'm happy to say that a sequel has been scripted! But before that a side story like The Crow's Nest will come kind of soon ^^
that was a graphic way for the previous clone to die, but at least they were able to see the flowers, grass, tress and sun for one final time before passing away. good job on the animation.
Damn the storytelling is powerful, really hit me in the feels

And yesss the Crow's Nest vid is indeed part of this universe ;)

Honestly I was expecting C16 to either be shot and a cut to black before 17 came out, or 16 would've been holding a note saying "welcome home"
That was amazing. Especially the part with the crow pecking the spent cartridge.
