Yeah for say how big Death Note still is nowadays, I think it's such a good idea to animate alternative endings to this series
On MAL I’ve rated Death Note 10/10 for season 1. But season 2 is just so shamefully written, especially the ending that puts Death Note overall on a 7/10. If this had been the original ending it would have been a perfect 10/10

In all honesty, and for the better of the show, light should have won. Light planned out every one of Near’s moves, Near literally fell right into Lights trap/hand. Light even theorized a scenario where near knew of the fake notebook. Thus, light had a plan for every scenario that could’ve arose. If you’re gonna watch the anime stop at the second to last episode. That’s how the show was meant to be viewed.

Noo, why would he? Shinigami eyes are an amazing advantage to him, he wouldn't need to make a deal himself. He didn't kill anyone from his team while it was safe and they were no threat to him. He doesn't kill people who are not criminals, who are on his side or who are not a threat to his identity. If they won they'd have 3 death notes. Killing criminals would be faster because they both would do it. Besides, it's a great cover. If Mikami was caught with one death note, police would say "oh here's kira" while light would still be safe.

@@shreyanshsharma. Mikami doesn't even try to play god, he plays the servant. No reason to get rid of him, someone who's so loyal and helpful. And if he was caught or somethin they could come up with a plan that as soon as it happens he relinqishes ownership of the death note and forgets everything so no one can get any information out of him.

It's a big advantage that he doesn't have to make the eye deal but has Mikami for it. And Mikami listens to him without question, so if he told him to not kill lazy people, he just wouldn't. I feel like it would be really stupid to get rid of the most loyal guy. Light already knows that if he kills his opponent it doesn't mean a new one won't show up. He has to be ready and shinigami eyes are the best way to beat them. If it wasn't for Mikami Light never would have had a way to kill Near

Besides if someone finds out that a prosecutor died at the same day and time as all detectives it would leave another trace for someone to follow

This should've been the true ending, not the one where Ryuk writes his name in the notebook. Whatever, i guess it is what it is, after all it's a canon event for Light Yagami to fail becoming the new god of the human world

so what was lights plan for after he dies, the moment he dies everything goes back to normal
Maybe he'd find a successor, someone like Mikami. And nah, nothing goes back to normal. What world experienced in the show is irreversible and has consequences, just because killings would stop doesn't solve everything

@@VillainGamingFNobjectively good? Yes. Objectively better? No. Unlike animation and writing, voices are pretty subjective and can only be earnestly objective by how much passion they give to personifying the character. I think both the sub and dub are great and everyone tries their best, especially Light, Ryuk and L. Personally I prefer the dub too, but I would say they’re pretty evenly matched in my opinion.
