So thankful I found this. What a great doc. I know Pete D Shoe from way back. He's a great guy and a very talented singer. and well-known as a great dancer. Pete is so right. I'm very ill and depressed at my situation. He made me realize, what I've been missing, the thing that really makes me happy, Northern Soul.. The only music I know that doesn't discriminate and brings people together. Thank you so much for this. It's gold to me. Best wishes to Anthony, Pete, and everyone on here. Keep the faith. Mishcha.
Today is my birthday. June 8. I just have to say that English culture is by no doubt the most passionate, raw, real, original collection of hobbyist, dancing, football, architect, fashion, music, and I bet much more. I am from California, i have had a stammer since high school that really affected me and threw my life at a 360. This past March I went to the UK for two days (London), first time out of North America, and I went to a Northern Soul event at a local pub, and it simply resonated like no other. Northern Soul is amazing. The UK is amazing.
I have only just started to get into Northern Soul for about two years now thanks to my Mum and Stepdad, and I love it I feel connected to the music. I'm 27, I also have learning disabilities and anxiety so it's hard for me to go out sometimes but I always go with my mum and stepdad and made good friends now whenever I go to Northern Soul nights In Hucknall and Long Eaton. I'll have to try Cotgrave if it's still going.
I'm nearly 60 and I still have anxiety, learning disabilities and I'm Autistic. Soul music is a longtime passion for me. Been listening to it since childhood. Whether I'm behind the decks or on the floor, it's what's in the grooves that counts
Fabulous Documentary. Anthony is an amazing lad & feel privileged to have been at his birthday party at the federation club in Nottingham. Thank You so much for sharing 😁
That bus reminds me of the bus we use to take from Colwyn Bay Nighter then off to Wigan. A cold and miserable Winter nights. About six of us on a big bus and I didn't know anyone. This is me about thirty years ago.

Good lad ✊
What is that version of Ken Boothe's Moving Away played about 4/5s into it?
It's a version by Kenny Lynch, popular on the Northern Soul scene.... ua-cam.com/video/IweVcgEExKY/v-deo.html
So what? I know people that grew up the same way, where’s their recognition?
Yh but thats not the point
