Gorgeous Crown Vic man, these here are real cars, dont get rid of it!!
I tell you a funny story,i built a 347 stroker for my Mustang, i have a AOD behind it, i didn't build it so i could destroy it in a few months like most do but i built it to enjoy cruising in it and once in a while i get on it, fun little motor, when it came to finding a flexplate... man that was a adventure.
I was very paranoid about torque converter clearance and thrust bearing issues (i have read horror stories about this) and my options were either a Pioneer flywheel from the parts store which are crappy and the holes dont line up perfectly or a heavy duty SFI racing flywheel that doesn't "flex" they way the should and are mainly for high horsepower applications OR finding a original OEM flexplate that only came in LTDs that had the rare 351 option and were fleet sales only, most people didn't wanna pay the extra price for the 351 back then so 95% of people went with the 302 which uses a different flywheel.
Talk about hens teeth!!! for a couple of months i scoured the internet looking for one, finally i found a guy in a little town in California that had one in his attic in the original Ford package it came in and the guy only wanted 80 bucks for it, because the LTD with the really rare 351 motor came with a AOD behind it and it was the only car that did so finding this thing was a proverbial bitch but I'm so glad i did, motor runs like a sowing machine and shifts like a Lexus, smoooooth.

I wish they still made cars like this. Roomy, comfortable, smooth ride, good visibility. I would say the last car even remotely like this in 2023 is the Chrysler 300 with V6. And this is the last year for it.

That's a very clean and nice crown Victoria. I just recently purchased a 1987 crown Vic LX it was a barn find. 33,000 original miles this car is a perfect example of a real survivor. Never driven in the winter.non-smoker dual exhaust 3.55 posi rear. AC still has the factory charge. I've been told this was a rare find. There's not very many out there left with low miles like this. 🏁 😎 🏁

@@andymckinley9179 yeah you too Andy those cars are getting very rare. Most of them crown vics were smashed in Hollywood movies . Used as taxicabs and used in demolition derbies. Or most of them sent to the crusher unfortunately. 🏁 😎 🏁

Nice. My grandparents had an 85 coupe, Two tone black and silver/gray. My grandpa even had his 79 Power Wagon repainted to match it. Sadly both vehicles long gone.

I have to be honest with you, when I first saw the U tube I did one of my "o no's". I figured it was going to be one of those videos where the car was going to get a set of black wall tires, 18 in rims and cherry bombs. So glad it wasn't. The only thing that I have done in the past with 2 89 Crown Victorias I've had. One wagon one sedan. Was to give them true duel exhaust from the cats back. Stock mufflers for a quiet ride with alittle extra Pep

My grandfather's last car was an 86 CROWN Victoria LX. It was a nicest car I ever had I acquired it after he gave up driving. My brother got it after me and he sold it to somebody else with a 170000 miles and they drove it back-and-forth to Denver a few times. Is lecarga totalled. That was my favorite car and I found one close to it on 1990 LTD CrownVictoria LX. With 52000 miles. It is the 2 tone rolls quartz and it's pretty much flawless. They were a great car I won many of the newer signs up to 2010 but I still like the pre 1991

The 1979 to 1987 full size Ford's were very attractive cars. There was a styling change in 1988 to 1991 models that I have never cared for. Your 1986 model has the right paint color and trim. A very attractive car. Like many other nice cars from the past there aren't a lot of well preserved examples lift. Too bad because most new cars made today will probably never regarded as anything special 30 years from now.

Hi friend. I have owned SEVEN Gr Marquis/Cr Vics 1985 through 2002 (still have 2 on the road). I'm guessing your 86 has the 5.0 with EFI. Advice: these engines have a PCV screen on the rear of engine which must be removed, soaked in solvent and cleaned about every 50 000 miles or else engine will consume oil from excessively high exhaust back-pressure.
    Thanks for sharing. BEAUTIFUL car.
    Cheers.

A beautiful example of a 1986 Crown Victoria. How much mileage does it have ? I own a 1987 and 1991 Crown Victoria LX wagon's . The 87 has 246,000.0 miles on it and now is my winter car with steel wheels and full hubcaps and snow tires. My aluminum turbine wheels I take off every winter to preserve them. The 1991 wagon is in showroom condition with only 10,000.0 miles on it since a new engine and transmission and is my summer cruiser that tows my 18'-0 " Starcraft boat. My latest purchase last January was a 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis LS 50th Anniversary edition sedan with 67,000.0 miles also in showroom condition . It is in dark blue metallic and has a full canvas carriage roof with gold anodized exterior trim one of only 250 made according to a plaque on the dashboard. Good luck with your 86 , it is a great car !
