37:50 pops says I got to go 😂. I got lot wood in for my dad the last few years of his life. What I give to be able to work with him one more time. Great work guys.
Bert, George here from New Zealand. I watch you and Chris on In the Woodyard every day and have started watching your channel as well. Love what you do and you one day hope to come visit you guys at your farm and perhaps help out for a day! Fantastic videos.
Honestly believe the 4way is less productive and makes mashed potatoes out of some of the best tight grain crotch pieces and lots of small slash (waste). Extra time and effort clearing the blades where the single wedge would just cut right through. If I owned an Ultra, I would not even own the multiple wedges. Nice to see your elder and youngster family spending time working together and carrying on the family’s work ethic tradition.
2 things you might think about, that I found to be helpful to me. 1 keep a chain so you can loop around the ram and the stuck round, use the ram to pull it off the wedge, saves a lot of fussin around and naughty words, and 2 on those pesky crotches try splitting with the grain , I mean from below the crotch to the crotch, some times it works better and doesnt crush,, just a thought,,, enjoy your time with the boy they grow up way to fast and forget all about old Dad
Great job, Bert. Between you and your young fella, you beat that nasty stuff real good 👍🏼
Thanks 👍

Awesome, thank you!
Every time I hear the sound of your family chopping wood, I imagine a symphony orchestra playing a wood chopping symphony.
Chainsaws sound better than splitting
You better check Saratoga firewood. They do very good video with wood cracking sound. No talking, no additional music.
@@kembanggula4772 Yes, I will check
Nice splitting on some challenging wood 👍
Thanks 👍

Sometimes speed is worth some extra trash.
You wasn’t kidding when you labeled this video.
Yup, and more of it to do soon.
Miss doing firewood wood 🪵 with my dad!😢
I'm going to enjoy it as long as I can.
The Ultra was pulling double duty on YT today. 👍
Yup and they were shot on totally different days.
New subscriber! Good stuff.
Awesome, thank you!
I'm guessing the single wedge for the ultra was not brought on this field trip?
It was I changed it out to get more done faster.
You and your son took care of those nasty crotches! Not many dads can say that. Great job with Gavin- he’s on the right track.
@peewee.3138 Thanks. I'm hoping to tackle the rest of that pile tomorrow with some fun toys.

I didn't have a chain handy. Started putting nasty stuff off to the side for the single wedge
Get a blind hole in the top of the hay snowman, the Wild geese will fly soon .
That's not a bad idea. Adam said when the corn comes off and he's there gonna set up some decoys.
Bert, it seems like you have more boiler wood than you could ever use. You guys have any plans to start selling the excess?
This was wood for my dad to heat the shop next year.
@@BertsCustomCuts I know that. I just mean in general.
@marcuscostello5635 I like to be 2 to 3 years ahead. Mabey someday will sell more. I do have a few buddies that buy a trailer load every year.
Some ugly oak there, crouchy…
Got lots done enjoy supper😊
Hopefully, get the rest of the pile done soon.
Lots of killer wood there. Trying to hurt you.
Keeps you on your toes of when it will get you next.
