    Mate, an absolutely top job. I'll be making one of these for a customer. If I was to make one criticism, it would be the exposed pocket holes. I'll be filling them in with a bit of putty. But, overall, I think it turned out fantastic. Keep them coming mate.

      Built By Chris could you design with the pocket holes on the outside and cover with the trim work? In other words, a plywood box with the pocket holes on outside, and finish the outside with trim which would cover the joinery?

      thanks! yeah it was a last minute add on by the client so I wasn't able to grab video of it but it was just a bit of precision work with the jigsaw and a good bit of sanding haha

    I am worried about the weight of it using 3/4 inch plywood, if I change some of the demensions would there be any reason I couldn't use 1/2 inch plywood instead. also I like to have it 21 inch deep instead of 15 inch deep. would I have to widen the pieces you add to the external sides.

    • @Bretts_Builds
      @Bretts_Builds  7 років тому +1

      Hey thank you! The box portion (not including height from the feet) was 20" tall, 18" wide, and 38" in length. Hope that helps!

    • @pianonut814
      @pianonut814 4 роки тому +1

      He writes it all out before he starts cutting and building but it looks like it’s majority one sheet of plywood other than legs but I’d have to watch again and write it out

    I love your project, it is very pretty at the end. I am sure Lily loved it. How could I make the legs larger?

    • @Bretts_Builds
      @Bretts_Builds  7 років тому

      Thanks! If you'd like to make the legs larger, I would recommend using a much thicker block so you have more material to work with. If you just need them taller, just use a wider board.

    How did you get the gap at the lid ?

    • @pianonut814
      @pianonut814 4 роки тому

      He said in another comment it was a last minute addition after the build video. He used the jigsaw to dip about an inch and sanded it down

  • @garwwilson3862

    After watching several times, I noticed that the finished chest has a gap between the lid and front/sides. ? How was that done?

    • @pianonut814
      @pianonut814 4 роки тому

      He said in another comment he had some precision jigsaw work to go about an inch down and sand the heck out of it. Apparently the customer asked for it after the build part of the video was filmed

    Hi, great build. I'm going to try to build something similar as a christmas gift for my niece. Question: Where did you buy the lid supports?

    • @Bretts_Builds
      @Bretts_Builds  7 років тому

      Hey there, thank you! You can pick them up at any local home good store like Home Depot or lowes.

    • @Mithien
      @Mithien 7 років тому

      Thanks. I'm from Norway and my local stores of that type does not carry anything similar. I need to order the lid supports online, so I was hoping you'd have any kind of name/brand/product sheet/whatever so I can search online for something similar.
