    I had my fair share of accidents after my stroke. Quite embarrassing. One of the major reasons I don’t leave my house anymore. Cause u never know

      I suffered a stroke in January 2023
      Had a few incidents
      So I
      Controlled what I ate
      Small portion
      No added salt
      Any greens
      And time my self every Evening
      And
      She said it all I follow

    I could not hold my urine after the first stroke. I was ashamed at first but then I stopped caring because I was so impressed with other improvements. Thankfully, my bladder became regular again.🎉

    This is one heck of a video to check in on 😂 but it's been awhile, and as always good to see you, queen ( I've been super busy and tired ), and I'm glad ( but not surprised ) you're keeping up the quality and usefulness of your videos.

    Thank you for this -- it's great to know this can be due to other conditions affecting the neurology system. Would this include those infections that do that, too? Also, for people who use tens unit -- is there a risk if they use a tens unit in the back area that is level with the bladder and use the tens unit for long periods of time? My mom loves her tens unit but can leave it on for long periods and I'm not sure that is good to do?

    • @PostStrokeOrg
      @PostStrokeOrg  Рік тому

      Of course! Thanks for all of your great questions. But these questions are more appropriate for your mom's therapist or doctor. She needs recommendations that are personalized to her specific situation and unfortunately, I can't make that judgment call via UA-cam. TENs placement and time worn should be evaluated by an in-person healthcare professional to make sure she's within safety recommendations 🙂

    Going on 3 months since my stroke. I'm home now because my insurance won't cover more time at rehab. I still can't move my arm, hand, knee or ankle. Can you do a video showing exercises on how to wake up those joints to be able to move them?thanks for considering. Love your content

    • @PostStrokeOrg
      @PostStrokeOrg  2 роки тому +1

      @tokyoredmedia, Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so sorry to hear that insurance won't cover any more rehab.
      I actually have a few videos you may find helpful if you don't have any movement at all:
      Mirror Therapy: ua-cam.com/video/5zwsN44wQbQ/v-deo.html
      Mental Practice: ua-cam.com/video/cG7XREpe-cQ/v-deo.html

    To strengthen sphincter my physiotherapist makes me sleep and bend both legs from knee and then press a ball with knees
    If you find this suitable, you may choose to include in future videos
    I hope this helps someone

    Have a question plz how we can mange the schedule if someone on lasix?

    • @PostStrokeOrg
      @PostStrokeOrg  2 роки тому

      @raniasham, That's a great question. Lasix and other diuretics (medications that remove fluid from the body and make you pee alot) can make setting up a schedule difficult. You'll want to find out if that person is actually experiencing incontinence or just having to go so often because of the medicine. You may have to set the scheduled times closer together. Unfortunately, those meds can make it difficult to successfully try a bathroom schedule.
