- Is this contam? Probably not unless it’s blue, green, yellow/green or black- here’s some examples of good and bad colonization and the different species

Bad time to make a video with that pressure cooker slapping away
That’s just the way he rolls, he’s working, and he’s trying to share. Be thankful, he doesn’t have to do this for us.
I appreciate trying to educate others the parts of the first few minutes I watched seemed great, but if he specifically wants views that PC kills it
@@cryptobotboi4459 all I can say is get over it. You’re getting the information for free and if you really want to know more you can look at different channels. The thing is people like to talk shit behind the screen. We don’t want to mistake you for someone who’s just talking smack because you want attention.
Thank you so, very much for sharing all of this highly valuable information. I am a novice mycologist and spent more than 6 months just researching and throughly studying prior to finally diving in with my first grow. Having decided to go big with my first grow, I have been really anxious to see great results. I’d initially decided to cut a large monotub recipe down to about 1/5 the recommended size. I really would’ve regretted having to throw all of this out due to contamination.
Again, I appreciate your help so much!
Couldn't hear over that damn presto howling in the back. 3 quarters on the weight quiets her right down.
Hahahaha - I go through so many PCs
@@PracticalMyco you mean you go though them cause they break? I’ve never had one break
Exactly what I needed to see, thanks! And no the background sound didnt bother me, that's a happy sound in my house. Just glad you are taking the time to post.
Love the info, great info. The pressure cooker or autoclave made it hard to hear well.
Thank you for this video & identifying problems on multiple types. Having to come back for a second viewing after having some contamination. The source was a commercial block that may have gotten contamination during shipment. It was Green Mold & exploded in growth exponentially so I just threw the block outside & the turkeys ate what little fruiting had occurred. I have also had one contaminated grain spawn which donor was the same block previously mentioned. It had telltale greasy liquid sticking the millet grains to the bag & smelled almost like a caramel frappucino that had been left in a hot car for 3 days hot damn! Anyways sorry for the monologue, your videos are exceedingly helpful.
Thanks for the examples! I stuck it out because I appreciate that you’re multi tasking while you have a few minutes. I hear the pc but I can tune it out to get the intel. Thank you!!
Great video. Thanks a lot!
Awesome awesome info - I'm now subscribed. But my dude, you gotta either get a mike or record somewhere else cause we can barely hear you.
Love the philosophy of letting the fungi duke it out. Firstly it's concerning genetics-wise when so many large scale operations who sell to the public are tossing anything that looks weird or encounters a contam, because it's such a different selective pressure than nature.
Secondly I was just reading this awesome 2021 metastudy commissioned by the Netherlands Department of Agriculture on coprophilous fungi (but it probably at least partly applies to other fungi) about the larger context of basidiomyces growth in manure. The basidiomyces only become established after other non-mushroom forming fungi and bacteria have had their fill of the easy nutrients, then the basidiomyces come in and they can digest the tougher, less nutritious material but also we're not clear on whether the previous bacteria and simpler fungi just strip out the easy sugars and nutrients or if what they do in some way prepares the substrate for basidiomyces to profligate. BUT in many of the coprophilous basidiomyces they looked at the mycelium produce antibacterial compounds, so as the mycelium becomes stronger it's able to mitigate, corral, and then eliminate bacterial contaminants. Some of them even produce antifungal compounds (with narrow profiles obviously).
So I love that you let them fight their battles and it probably will produce fitter genetic lines over time.
Exactly. Nature selects only its strongest to propogate, mankind selects its weakest for the same job.
I love that I can hear a pressure cooker in the background.
Hey, I am Alvis and this video really helped me in growing mushrooms. The problem is I can't figure if my mushroom blocks are contaminated. It would really help if I could send some pics of my mushroom and you will help me figure it out.
Bravo........love to see agar plate photos.......close up samples ...cheers
I just started growing and man your videos are helping so much! THANKS
You mentioned regarding the infected pink oyster bag that if it didn't win over the infection, you'd take it home and just throw it in your garden outside to grow. Why would you do this over sending it to bulk inside, or throwing out the bag entirely? Is it because "if the pink oysters grow, then that's great, but if they don't, then no harm done"? Or some other reason?
I know he doesn't usually answer comments on his channel, so if anyone else can explain to me this reasoning than I'm all ears (or eyes, I suppose)!
That pressure cooker going crazy 😭
He always has some going it's biasness multiple things going thanks for this video good information thanks for it
Awesome. So what's the secret to morels or a good place to start btw the tek seems all over the board from what I'm finding.
Great video!
Thanks for recording near a steam engine. I thought I heard talking
Excellent example of youtube... best info available, almost impossible to hear. But i got it, thanks man.
Hi there
I love your videos how you explain stuff very smart way.. I would like to know if you can tell me if 1500 ppm of co2 is good for king oysters or should i go less with co2 ,, I am growing mushrooms for a few months, i grow oysters but kings are a little bit differents. Thanks Martin
Is there any way you could make a video on casing layer and how to prevent overlay.. Not a lot of people are making videos about this.
Great video
Excellent
I'm fwing you heavy🔥🔥🔥🤝
Nutrition profile? Can you expand on that and how the mushrooms adjust?
Great video. You taught me a lot in your clip. Other vids just show you a rotten colour or say any colour but white is contaminated. My first grow was pink oysters and I had the mycelium turn pink after a while but it was very interesting seeing the morel coloration as I have a spore syringe on order. Thanks again
310 is the pink color lipstick mold or is it supposed to be pink /purple?
Do you have a video on how to clean culture from bacteria? For example if you have contaminated petri dish, is there any way to clean mycelium from bacteria? Is gentamicin toxic to mycelium?
What should I do if my grow bags look like they colonising
Boop! It would be really awesome to see if a good chunk of the population did this while being stuck in their homes... how many innovations could be created at a lightening speed... crazy, that many waste their time in stressful environments... both inside oneself and outside, lol.
Do you happen to take the samples of the different molds that are losing and then do a battle royal to see the strongest mushy win out of them all... Muahahahaha, lol plus to other things...a godly mushy to rule over all! Lol
So I had an awesome second flush on my lions mane then noticed cobweb mold and had to toss it. How do I avoid that ?
Mine has a healthy orange color because it’s growing over new areas. Thank GOD!!! Remember be clean people. Disinfect everything!!!!
Muchas gracias 🙏🏼
Okay I just broke up my mycelium brick and mixed it in really well with my medium thoroughly and put a thin cover of medium over that. 3 days later I see what looks like a cotton ball with littl e spikes coming out of it. Almost like a dandelion that you used to make a wish with when you were little. But much smaller.. Is this the cotton ball contamination you were talking about or is this just how the mycelium looks before it spreads out into the medium. I wish I could come up with a better example of what it looks like. But you seem very very knowledgeable and come across as a professional. So I'm hoping you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. I did a bunch of research but it's hard to find pictures of the mycelium in the beginning of the fruiting stage.
was it contaminated
@@azael5553 turns out what I was seeing was normal. At least that's the conclusion I was able to come to with the information I could find. From what I understand I think they're called primordial knots. Or primordia. Two different stages before they pin.
@@skinnymitchairgunbrotherho7152 hey the worry is real! I saw the comment & seeing it for the first time it is alarming, right? However, being that they were primordia did the fruiting bodies turn out well? Did you get multiple flushes?
@@KingFPV the fruiting bodies did turn out very well. There was some weird white spots on some of them though. Not sure if that was just because it was a different type of mushroom that I grew the first time. Or if it had to do with my issue. Pretty sure it was part of my issue cuz not all of them had the white spots. That being said I got two flushes the first one was pretty big the second one was pretty small.
Do you have experience with Reishi mushroom grow kits?
Do you notice a difference in smell at different stages of colonization?
I see little bugs in my spawn bag. This is my first time so I’m not sure if they are supposed to be there or not. Could this be a contamination issue?
Lol
Got a question I figured I'll ask a pro I keep getting trichoderma mold in my grain spawn what can I do? I know there are a million variables but I cook grain 2 1/2 hours 15 psi, let cool out the cooker inoculate as clean as possible taking every precaution I can and It still pops up every few bags??
Maybe you aren't being sterile enough when you are inoculating your grain bags. Without any more information, that's my best guess.
Anybody know about mushroom exudate. My spawn bag got a bit warm. Will they still fruit safely?
Is it possible that you get contam but it isnt super clear to a beginner, leading to mushrooms that may make you sick?
Or does all contam eventually take over enough that it becomes very noticable before you can get fruit?
It will be noticable in one way or the other, either you can see it, smell it during colonization or when you spawn it. And fruits will typically not show up.
"I circled it so you can see it." 😆
What if my grow bags are not hydrated enough after injecting them
Is 2 1/2 hrs overkill? Especially with millet
I have a little bit of that yellow in my all in one bag of mazatapec mushrooms is that normal it’s not much at all
Say I have some pe myc growing greenish ,will it slowly turn white fungus wins out
My golden teachers were just starting to be ready to harvest and I had to leave for 2 days. when I came home they had grown 3 inches and the top of the caps were black with turned up caps. Are these still safe to eat? TY
Did you get an answer??
@@PaulWashington.. they just dropped spores - they are fine to eat but less potent by weight
Prolly just a bad bruise from hitting the top
They're bad, send them to mr fir study
I had my mushrooms in the fruiting stage the mycelium was thick and spiderweb like but now it’s starting to thin out, how do I stop this and make it strong again?
Fan it and fresh air exchange. Keep it misted once or twice a day. What is the mycelium in? A tub or bag? You may need to induce fruiting to it by now
Thanks thought the yellow mycelium and liquid was contamination. I’ll prolly just use the mycelium from the top
I have a b+ mono tub and some of it on the edges has darkened in color
My mycelium was fine and then I saw a little tiny blue how is that not bruising?
Do a video about growing morels
I'm having problems with condensation in my bags..is this normal?
Yes it's normal and should be fine as long as water isn't pooling.
It's only been a week and I have white fluff with black tips is that mold ?
Yes. Black mold
Great info, but you really need to manage sound better during videos. Your voice seems low anyway, presumably by the distance from the camera.
JC what is that noise?
Those who are having trouble hearing, click and turn on closed captioning. You’re welcome 🖤
I've got some bright orange in my bag
The subtitles read:
“Estrogen a colony”
Whenever you said:
“It started a colony”
I dunno why I found that so amusing xD
Kinda hard to hear this video over the PC…
Turn off the machines in the background next time.
I cleaned up the audio: ua-cam.com/video/7ny9AIWi_vA/v-deo.html
Omg I would love to grow morel they are my favorite in the world. I have a honey hole to go to every year usely finding a couple hundred.
CANT HEAR
Fun guys typically do their own thing, totally true. Fungui
Yeah dude thanks for the video, I have been wanting someone to go over this. Unfortunately I cannot watch the video due to the pressure cooker going in the background. Sure I could probably try really hard to listen to you over the PC going but my toddler is sleeping and this being my only leisure time I just don't wanna put myself through anything unpleasant, lol.
I had to turn it down and put subtitles/closed captions on. Helped a lot
Too much noise in background
I never would have noticed the contam if you hadn't circled it. lololol
Title of video should have been what’s not contamination!
Can’t hear you
Oh my God. I've been doing this for years, and I've thrown out perfectly good grain bags.. if it doesn't look like piss, I just assume it's contamination.... so many lost experiments. :(
Dude u seem nice, but my fucken ears man
i lasted 2:05
How about white fluffy cotton ball look alike that smells like athlete’s foot? Does anyone know about that? I’m about to throw away my bags 😭
I get my from an online store his got shroom, psychedelic and microdosing products well refined also ships to anywhere discreetly, can also guide you on anything.
His on Instagrams, with also telegrams with,,
*Mycopete%
how on earth are you growing mushrooms infoors?
I am working with liquid culture (newbee) and was told by a prolific grower that anything on the surface of lc is contamination...thanks for the clarification!
ANNOYING NOISE! But thanks for the info!
Lol can’t hardly hear you turn your helicopter off
Too much background noise. Sorry. Annoying
These bags are a complete scam honestly ur targeting rookie mycologist that have not understood the process ur thefs telling people to shoot spores into the bag that's a joke
Great timing for a vid , blast us with background noise ,, no thanks man , bye
Can't really hear what you are saying...too much background racket. Also, can't see your face. It's driving me crazy cray
Terrible video. Couldn’t hear the information given. Ugh! Why?!
Did not even watch the video… checked it can’t be heard at any point disliked and went away 😂❤
brush your teeth my guy
I think it’s just the way he holds his lips sometimes. They look white at different angles.
Can't be serious making detailed video only to ruin it with all the noise smh
