To this day it's hard to hear Chester's voice and realize for the millionth time how great he truly was. He was one of a kind.

that screaming techniqe is not that hard to be honest, it is required really little air and it is not really loud so you can stretch the scream. But still it is very impressive that he can switch from this long scream to clean singing without problem

The recorded one was 18 but I checked in this video and he fell a couple seconds short but that's totally understandable. Another good super long one is Backbreaker by fit for a King. 23 seconds at the end

Never heard it put so well. The fact that he was able to maintain consistent pitched vocal fry and clean singing all those years is a testament to his talent, skill, and technique. The man had the secret sauce and was buried with the recipe. The whole thing is a goddamn tragedy. As someone with musical aspirations and similar past/issues, the man was a role model to me. Had a wife, kids, friends, a successful career. Rip 😔

I did go through a pretty dark time a few years ago where I did actually struggle with serious suicidal thoughts. so there was one point where I did feel like this while listening to the song. But Ive come a long way since then, I just wanted to you hear this live performance because Chester absolutely KILLED it. #RIP

Chester was one of a kind. I was not happy when Chris Cornell passed, but then for two months later to hear Chester was gone, both by suicide.... That was a hard year for lovers of their music.

Linkin Park Crawling is a must was the first time I ever heard them! Chester could sing beautifully but then get to the raw emotional underbelly of the feeling and you feel it too! RIP Chester Bennington! Also Numb, In The End, Faint and Papercut are awesome! They are a special band!
A long growl is hard, but a long PITCHED vocal fry is INSANE. HE'S ACTUALLY SINGING A NOTE AND ADDING DISTORTION TO IT. Most growls only use your false vocal folds but a pitched vocal fry requires stress on your vocal chords AND false vocal folds, not to mention it requires a ton more airflow to keep the vocal chords active. Chester had some gd PIPES. Rest in peace, you legend.
