I just got mine yesterday and I am happy with it! Best multi effects pedal I have owned after numerous Line 6 attempts and several others. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Very awesome! Subbed. Great tones, can't wait to play with this! I just got an MX5 today and am really impressed by it. I have a Line 6 Helix but wanted something a little more compact as what I'm doing at the moment doesn't call for all that the Helix can do. Headrush might be the most underrated brand on the market. I'm really impressed with this little thing. Now if only Headrush would put out software updates in a timely manner. That seems to be one of the biggest drawbacks.
I'm not a worship guy by any stretch, but you definitely made that MX5 sound better than any video I've seen since it came out (and I've pretty much watched them all) nice playing
Thanks! I’m enjoying the Gretsch, although some of these songs may have suited the Tele better. Tele is out of action, waiting for parts. Other guitars are in storage so I only have the Gretsch right now
Great job on your video! I like the idea of this pedal. Nice size, easy to use and great tones. I like the Gretsch guitar too. Perfect for worship. I am subscribed now.
Great demo/review bro. Something I would like to own for great lead and ambient sounds. Something we are lacking of at our church!!!! Thanks. God bless!!!
If it sounds fizzy, step 1 is to turn turn the treble on the amp model, just like you would in real life. If you're using an internal cab: Try different mics, try the mics on and off axis. Try different cabs (then try various mics again). If using an IR: Keep trying different IRs (there are hundreds in there). Double tap on the IR block and set the HICUT to 5,000, or even as low as 3,500. I saved that for last, but in fact that's the easiest solution of all :)
I have bought a headrush mx5 and brought it to Brazil... 2 mouths of use it stopped working and they didn't pay me back... desapoited with Headhush.... I should buy a Hotone
I'm new to the Headrush MX5.. How can i copy your rig in this video content so that I can use it for our praise and worship service. Thank you and God bless!❤
Thanks a lot! You are doing a great job! God bless you!...I have also been playing in the worship team for many years. In your video, I heard exactly the sound that I really like! Gretsch paired with Headrush sounds great!..Can I ask you about guitar equipment in the future, if the need arises? And where can I do it? I promise not to bother you:) My name is Alexander and I'm from Ukraine.

Awesome!!! I see you’re using 3 Scenes per Rig, but what if I need more Scenes? Can I bank up to an exact copy of the rig but with different Scenes for example “solo”, “drive with trem” and “swells” and that change between both rigs will be gapless? Thanks for your help !!!
That is correct: save a copy of the rig then create different scenes or footswitch assignments on the second copy of the rig. Yes, Headrush has gapless switching between rigs.
Hi, great job. They sound huge, but I just put them in my Pedalboard running into one of their flat response speakers and they are way more distorted than your video, even the clean sounds dirty! That's with Fender's take on those pickups (Fidelitrons). Is it smthg to do with the numbers of heads running? My screen looks a little different from the MX5, with all 4 heads showing and then buttons saying 2x next to them - if I have all four on the distortion is even more. I slightly hate tech and am a bit hopeless at it, hence why I went for the 'easy' Headrush! Any clues why it's not sounding like yours? You haven't got the guitar volume dialed right down have you? Many thanks and bless you for putting this out there :) PS It's no biggie, I can use your patch as a starting point and take it from there, dial gain on the amp heads as needed. I just played along to a Chris Tomlin track and using your patch, and my guitar - which I thought sounded way over the top before playing along - was pretty much a perfect match for the recorded guitar. Who knew it was this easy to sound monster?! So huge thanks for your download. Current mega reverb wash worship is not really my scene musically but the folks seem to like it, so I obey! I get a lot of complements on my £750 HR sound, but when it broke mid-service recently (expression pedal, known issue on the forums), I switched to a £29 Amazon sim pedal and had more people than usual come up afterwards complementing it. I really have no idea what it sounds like out front - we are only allowed in ears, no amps (eugh, just, eugh!), hence why I bought the HR. Hoping HR will fix it, only had it 14 months... if not, £29 might be the way forward :)
Perhaps you have modified the rig from how it was when you first downloaded it? Maybe download again and reinstall, to get the clean sounds back? I am not backing off the guitar volume to clean up the sound in the video.
I have used it live and it works well: I had to duplicate my main rig so I could access different stomps (same rig, different Hardware Assign. Just like I did in this video). Most of the time I'll continue to use Pedalboard live, but I'll use MX5 for traveling (it fits in a carry-on bag, which Pedalboard doesn't).
I didn’t really design this rig for use with a guitar amp. But if you want to try it anyway: I suggest turning off the cabinet simulation in the Headrush, then take the main out of the Headrush, to the “power amp in” of your Deville. Your distortion will be coming from the Headrush. If you would like more help, I recommend you post a question in the Headrush Owners Worldwide Facebook group. A lot of helpful people there, and perhaps a group member will have a setup similar to yours
Are you deciding between having a bunch of pedals mounted on a pedalboard, or Headrush? Headrush is much easier and much less expensive. I am very satisfied with the sounds I get from it.
Awesome playing and great sounds! I havea question: I am thinking of buying a Headrush unit but am not to sure if the MX5 or the pedalboard is the way to go. The only differences i can find is smaller display, and lesser buttons without text-display on them. What is your take on the MX5 in live situations? Are the 3 pedal buttons enough or would you rather play live with the pedalboard? Thanks :)
I have done gigs with MX5 and it works well...but having the extra foot switches on the Pedalboard makes a big difference live, so that's what I normally use.
Headrush Pedalboard/Gigboard/MX5 all have the same processing power and would be a step up from the Firehawk in that regard. I personally have a strong preference for the touchscreen workflow, so for me that would also be an upgrade. The firehawk has more foot switches than MX5, so if that's important to you, you may want to consider Headrush Pedalboard instead of MX5.
Marshall and Bogner for clean, Bogner and Mesa Boogie for dirty. Scroll up from here to the DESCRIPTION section so you can download the rig and see all the details of how it was made
Short answer: yes. Long answer: you can save “presets” for every effect/amp/IR etc. and you can use “Scenes” to change between those presets. And you can have two scenes per footswitch. This allows you to recall all the settings of all the blocks on a footswitch, then hit the same footswitch (or a different footswitch) and recall a completely different group of settings for all the blocks. Everything described above, happens with a rig. The alternative way to do this is to simply step through different rigs, and there is no audio dropout when changing rigs, so there is no disadvantage in that workflow (all other modelers drop audio during patch changes)
MX5 and Pedalboard sound identical and I have spent a lot of time using Pedalboard with a pair of FRFR108. I highly recommend sending your family away for an afternoon and running a pair of FRFR at stage volume as you tweak your rigs. Your rigs sound completely different at low volume, and headphones don't always represent what it sounds like through a PA. FRFR (when turned up loud) let's you know what your guitar will sound like through a PA system, which I think is critical. I think it's well worth the investment in FRFR even if it's just for tweaking rigs.
@@forthecreator1 Sounds like a great idea. In fact, I currently use Overloud TH-U for recording and I just picked up one FRFR108 to try out with TH-U iOS. I was wondering if you could get good clean and ambient sounds out of this unit and you just proved it in this and your other video of clean tones. Well done! Thank you!
