He may be trapped in Foulfell but he finally did defy death like he said, he brought back Filomena. In comparison to the hell he lived for a thousand years without her being alive, foulfell must not be so bad. He even smirked at the end.
Everything we love is going to die and we can't do anything to stop it; but as long as what we love lives: every moment we share with what we love is a miracle. And only the tragedy of the poet who wants to stop each moment in eternity remains. It is a useless, but human passion: trying to stop the unstoppable.
goddess selemene was the lesser version in invokers world, but in the one he created, his ideal of her was living and dying as the strongest version of herself(or at least what i can interpret from the daughter viewing her as a mortal, and a mother)
I don’t understand… Invoker stood toe to toe with gods and primordials, created and destroyed 12000+ universes, can break through dimensions, but he can’t resurrect his daughter? Do elves have no soul? Or is Filomena fated to die in all realities?
Kinda. Her true nature (personality, beliefs, soul?) is influenced by her upbringing with her incurable disease. If he removes her disease she stops being herself, as it won't be there to influence her development and if he keeps it, she dies inevitably. Thus the reason he tried so hard to recreate the world and revive her indirectly. He doesn't just want her to be cured and live in the lose sense of it being her body and soul. Instead, he wants her to live as she would have if her disease had been cured. Think of it like he wants a specific version of her that is HIS daughter, not just some parallel version.
Why is he obsessed. It's just his daughter not worth destroying universe. I know she's important to him but too little and I think he only cares about himself. It's only an obsession not love.
- Mirana: Why? + Invoker: "I think you of all people would understand, Your Majesty, what do we owe to those we love, and the ones we lost..." Invoker - season 3

He is broken father who experienced his daughters death 12043 times and you are yelling at him for wanting to see you grow up and have a good life.
"Gosto dos vilões, pois eles sacrificam o mundo inteiro por quem ele ama.
Odeio os heróis pois eles sacrificam quem amam pelo mundo inteiro."
Well done!! good job !
I will not allow this madness to consume you as it consumed me😢

Apparently, it's a canon event (insert Migue O'hara there) it's bound to happen, One way or another.

stop saying as if u know. I am sure most of us would do the same if we have the power to do so
Also he remade those universes so everybody who died got revived every time.
You understand that if you can defy one death, you can defy all of those death as well, right?
