- Alan's been watching carefully how we saw lumber, and with Wayno away last week he stepped up to the plate and ran the sawmill! While that sounds easy, it starts with paying attention and making sure we operate safely. We're all volunteers, and not everyone has the same level of experience, so the sawyer must watch all aspects of the operation. Thank you Alan for jumping in! And, nice job sawing some amazing cherry boards!
Looks like he had a good teacher who taught by example and not by lecture. Good for you Wyane.
You're too kind! Actually, Alan is really smart and he sucks in information and knowledge like a sponge. And, he's not afraid to jump in and help.
That will be me someday soon. Hoping someone with experience will be there with me for my first time. Thanks for posting.
Where do you live? I didn't realize you were not a master sawyer. On the East Coast there are quite a few Frick's still operating and there are some real experts who are very willing to share knowledge and expertise.
