At Rock Hill Farm and Homes we upload new videos at least 3 times per week, about our 20 Acre hobby farm, our John Deere 2038R compact tractor and other equipment, and the businesses that we run.
These businesses include a manufacturing operation, a Christmas tree farm, real estate investing, a lawn care business, and an online retail store. I demonstrate how I am able to use these ventures to earn a good living without a traditional job.
We have some cool toys and always think outside the box on our little homestead so come along for the ride.
You can expect new videos from us every other day, usually around 8 AM.

That rake driver and baler driver work well together!
That is what I thought
It is a father and son
That baler makes a very good clean bale.
Just something about watching people cut and bale hay, pretty cool
I enjoy it too.

Love all the drone footage of the process. Great job!!
Thank you sir
I have an EA Wicked Bucket on order. I was happy you see you back drag with yours. I enjoyed the video with the hay bailing from your drone.
I’ve been really happy with the bucket. No issues with it

Nice change of pace for your channel. Good video.
Thanks
So I was checking out your pond. I have a small pond and am tired of weed eating around it. Keep looking at sickle mowers. Wow they are pricey!
Yes they are. I just back the brush hog over the edge of the pond. I'm actually going to be doing that in a video the next few days. I'm also hoping to expand the pond in the next couple months
Thanks for watching
Nice video, Brock. 👍

That drone footage is sexy!
Thank you sir
Hay is busy around me. Most have already got their second cut done and maybe they will be able to get a 3rd depending on rain.
Yeah, mine was definitely cut late. It’s kind of a low quality hay and our property can hold water
They’re only going to get two cuts for sure
@@RockhillfarmYT your hay looks good. Around here some ppl cut off the highway sides and some places have brave ppl and cut and bale trash and all. So I think your hay is good to go lol.
Hey Brock, I guess the John Deere 2038R could make hay with smaller implements. Just would be time consuming.
Am I correct? Those guys on your property are like a well oiled machine processing the hay.
It is possible to make hay with my tractor but it’s not the most efficient way.
They have mini baling set ups that produce the smaller round bales. Probably I could run an older square Baler
Definitely not a full size round Baler
I looked at the mini Balers and almost bought one. Maybe in the future
That was a nice variety of equipment. How much does one of those bales sale for... retail?
It varies quite a bit by the season and by the quality of hay. $25 to $60 per bale here
@@RockhillfarmYT From following Josh on Stoney Ridge Farmer I was expecting those prices. Thanks for the reply.
how long does it take to grow till its ready for processing? do you have to seed it again or does it grow all by itself? how much does a bail sell for? retail/wholesale? im from florida, have no idea on this type of process, interesting... thanks
Ideally you get three cuts per year in the spring summer and fall but that is dependent on conditions. I will only get two cuts this year.
Price of a bale can depend on the type of grass and the quality of the hay it and if it has weeds in it. It can range anywhere from $25-$75 a bale.
We don’t fertilize or seed or anything . It just grows on its own so it’s a lower quality hay. If you put more effort into it you can get more for your hey but you’re spending money on it as well
The people who Balitch typically get 2/3 of the profit in the Landowner gets 1/3

@@RockhillfarmYT sweet thanks for education 👍👍
Hay equipment is so pricey it is a wonder how they make money cutting and bailing it for sale?
The only answer is high volume. Most of the guys I know are doing thousands of acres to pay for the equipment
