    For 5 hours, this is absolutely breathtaking. Painting this kind of warbands to such an extremely high standart in such a short time is something you do better than almost anybody else, simply astonishing!

    4 hours for 9 miniatures... And here I am, taking 10 hours for a single 5 cm high miniature.

    Fantastic video! I love how your lessons and techniques have moved me from a "base-coat/wash/edge highlight" approach to really considering light values, colour temperature and transparency when I paint. Hopefully I'm becoming a more accomplished painter along the way. Thanks.

    Folks, if you watched this and think it helped your approach to handling a tranition from shadow to something more supernatural, or you just found the way Marco combined airbrushing and brushwork for efficient fast painting at a really high standard then hit the like button! Costs nothing and makes a huge difference to a youtube channel, if just a few more folks remembered to it would impact the whole project and the man simply deserves it.

    Ciao Marco! It is great that you left the sound of the airbrush while spraying so we can hear the sound of you spraying small bursts instead of of longer sprays. I'll definitely try to spray like this...and I hope to improve my accuracy :)

    this models are amazing and as i mentioned before the painting scheme you used give me huge illidari vibes.
    The moment you added magenta to the purple it made it instantly come to life, changing the colour slightly but upping the value a lot more i think (something im still learning from all the fantastic colour theory videos).
    I hope we soon get to see another of your amazing oil paiting miniatures and with alot of colour mixing in it!.

    4:40 Would love to see you use the Army Painter washes more often! Have been using washes from GW and AP as filters/glazes trough the airbrush myself. The matt finish can be beneficial to increase the contrast with satin finishes on the rest of the model.

    I had a different impression of what was going to be in this video. Still very useful, still top notch quality. Could you maybe do something on painting figures in low lights? How does one maintain contrast and how far do you take your highlights under, say, moonlight?

    Great video..
    I have a question.
    i do not have the Army Painer's Quickshade Purple Tone.
    What would be the next best thing?
    What I do have is :
    1. Citadel's wash shade Druchi Violet
    2. Citadel's Contrast Magos Purple
    3. Liquitex inks Naphtol Red and Phthalocyanne blue (mix them for purple?)
    4. Valejo's Game Ink Violet

      Hi! Thanks a million man! My favourite options are Druchi Violet (quite similar to the Army painter wash) and Vellejo's violet ink, maybe adding a bit of medium to make more transparent and easy to move on large surfaces

    when you use the airbrush, do you adjust back for the PSI so that way you dont spray heavly. For instance, at 6:40 when you use the magenta on the purple wash i know that you get the airbrush close to the model, but are you adjust the pressure on the compressor so that way you dont shoot out too much at one time, or is it just your ability to know how to use the lever on the airbrush itself that you are doing it with?

      Thanks!!! Their bases are super simple; first I fixed some debris and rubble with superglue, than a layer of textured paste from AK Interactive (but you can obtain the same effects with sand and PVA glue), and I added the skulls at the end again with superglue

    Maybe I am just blind, but I can’t seem to find what color you used to base the green on the weapons? I can only find the fluorescent highligh step, and i am totally in love (read it with your own voice) with the contrast Green/Purple. Did anyone else spot what green is used? I am guessing something like Warp lightning!

      Hi! You can use any light and pale flesh tone you have in your collection. I like Flesh tint ink just because I can use it in the airbrush straight from the bottle 😅

    I've gotten an airbrush and I'm excited to follow along, but I find my inks never seem to stick to the model. As soon as other paint touches it, it runs, even if I'm leaving it overnight. Any tips on what I'm doing wrong?

    Loved the look you got out of the gold, particularly in the dark pictures, it caught just enough light to draw attention. You said it was just because the original coat got hit with the varnish layer then you highlighted over that?

    Wish we could get Scale 75 reliably in NZ, I'd love to give their metallics a go

      Thanks 😊😊😊! Actually I have a scientific background, but I went deep into these topics for personal passion. When you start thinking as a painter, not only a "miniature" painter you realise that there's an infinite amount of knowledge and material on the subject 😊.
      The metallic paints are probably the best of entire Scalecolor range! I hope they release some metals for the Artist line

      @@killroy255 Yep! I need only a super simple base over the zenithal because I already have the basic modulation. Then it's just a matter of adding complexity adding tones and the extremes of that modulation
