Good thing you had a ballast qualified driver on the second tractor.

My dealer insisted on fluid filling back tires on my 3038 with a front end loader said it would be a safety concern without it, and it's much easier than having to hookup something on the back that your not using anyway

Your tractor doesn’t need the engine to rev to 2,000 RPM to pick up six hundred pounds. I’ve owned three, five, two and four series John Deere Utility and Sub Compact Utility tractors. All would lift that weight at just over idle.

Interesting, and a very well done and informative video!!! I have that exact tractor, and just posted a question about wheel weights and/or tire fluid on a couple of Facebook tractor forums. I understand that ballast is necessary, but what do y'all think about implements (like your box blade) vs. wheel weights and/or tire fluid for ballast when using a FEL?

My tractor is the same yet I seem to struggle lifting 1k#. Any solutions?

I have a 3038e, it will not lift 1200lbs on forks at all, also, were those rear tires filled?
