Where do you purchase your capacitors? Trying to problem solve a lazy boy spa built by hydropoools, uses gecko controller and pumps. I have a new circuit pump. Isolated the no longer used salt cell and ozonator still randomly trips. Ran over 24 hours last time. Almost out of ideas. Found the bond wire loose on the circ pump when discovered the gfci tripped the first time.
@@adagre pull the capacitor and all the information is on there.
This was extremely helpful. Helped me understand how to troubleshoot the random issue. Working through my random problem now. Thanks!
So, in the end, it was a bad GFCI breaker. Thanks for sharing. Love troubleshooting videos.
Well, thats a rare one. That's a 1 in 1000
I've got a newer beachcomber tub and my breaker trips so randomly. Can stay on for days then trips every day for a while. Has been doing it for a couple years.
I had the GFI breaker in my house for the first year then had it moved under the stairs and placed a regular breaker in the house. ( Yes I know it shouldn't be under the stairs ahah ) never tripped after that. Now the GFI is in my shed about 15 feet away and has started tripping again.
Should I start disconnecting components or does this sound like a faulty breaker?
When the breaker was being moved to each location, was the wire ever connected in a junction box?
@@VIPPoolsandSpas first time it was wired from the tub to the breaker in the house. Nothing in between. Now it's wired from the breaker in the house to my shed to another breaker box with the GFI then to the hot tub.
Sorry. Now it's from breaker in house to shed breaker to junction box to hot tub. When it didn't trip it was from house breaker to junction under stairs with the GFI to the hot tub.
@@TheJanz3n did it start tripping after the new wire hookup? How long after?
@@VIPPoolsandSpas yes. After months of not tripping with the GFCI under the stairs it started tripping on the new hook up a few weeks later.
my hot tub runs, heats then some point the breaker trips. Can run for 8 hours or 10 min
That is a very hard thing to pin point. You could do what it says in the video but over time. Disconnect the heater and wait. If it does trip in a 24 hour period you should be able to find it. Maybe
@@VIPPoolsandSpas we have Choice HOW they are having someone come out. 75 bucks, breakers are 160, heaters 160, or whatever it is its 75.00 for me
@@jimgraham4355 75 is pretty good. Is that US? They will say it's a board very quickly
@@VIPPoolsandSpas i dont care what it is, probably the heater. Id fix it my self but 75 bucks
@@VIPPoolsandSpas un hooked the heater, ran the start cycle and then it trips
its not the heater
