Im not even kidding, if you watched him this season you know how stunted his numbers were this year because of minutes restriction and his teammates not giving him easy buckets because they missed him. If those two things alone go up hes going to get a significant boost. As long as this kid doesnt get injured and he continues to progress at even a decent clip this kid has the potential to completely change the game and just from his freakish size and skillset combo he will be considered the goat. Hes that good. The media wont give him that crown and will probably try to crap on him, but peoples eyes will tell them the whole story. The kid is an absolute freak.
If they start the next season the way they finished this year and progress like they have since the All Star break I can see them at 44 wins and a possible play in team
At this my only concerns have to do with Wemby’s health. He finished play pro ball in France, then went through a complete NBA season, and will do the Olympics, before going into the next NBA season. Hopefully, he is taking care of his body.
drafting for shooting should be the last thing, it has to come from the development of the players while we focus on defense minded players and position needs.
It sucks because Fred Vanvleet wouldve been the absolute perfect player for this, a veteran (but not too old) guard that is a good defender and team player and can shoot, he wouldve been way better than any of the possible trade options (as of now) that are currently on the table...
Can we have our Locked On Spurs (of all media outlets) pronounce Wemby’s name correctly? It’s ‘WemBANyama’, not WemBiyama. It’s literally on his jersey. Let’s get this right. ESPN took all season.
There is always a chance but to be the best next season? I highly doubt it coz that also means our time need to be in top 3 at least which not gonna happen next season unless our pick suprise us

He's definitely ready to become the best player in the NB.A within the next 2 to 3 seasons

Needs to improve his ft % including his3 point shooting while decreasing his turnovers. Then “yes”

Even if he is the best next year, he wouldn’t win the MVP vote.
