- Back with another F upload! My projector lens were cloudy / dirty & the only way to fix that is to open the headlights and clean the lens, so I figured since they're gonna be open we should just do a chrome / amber delete. The vision is far from complete but it's coming together! Drop a thumbs up & subscribe to the channel!

The “Orange peel” is called a “Fresnal Lens” and it’s common for most usdm cars. Start paying attention to every vehicle you see with factory projectors, look at the lens, and you’ll notice the orange peel. IIRC NHTSA requires it for whatever reason.

I was gonna do the same thing then Vland dropped the headlights and we did a group buy before they released it publicly, and it was hella cheaper than finding F Sport lights lmao and bro same here

OEM HID projectors have fresnel lenses to meet regulation. It softens the cut off line and the light out put. You need clear lenses for the most output and get that blue/purple cutoff line.

I had a similar issue, my projector housing where the actual D2S sits in had all the reflective material all hazey and burned out. I Replaced both projectors and did a clear lens swap. Way sharper cutoff and output

Ohhh yeah! The headlight housing is way better. Looks like its tinted but its not. Very clean. And the clear turn signal is a very nice touch.

Kicks if your getting your lights fixed again, see if you can have your guy get the led strip to be cool white instead of that warm white. The 2012 isfs has minor updates on the headlights including the led strip and lens itself.

Yeah them shits had rippley patterns before u fully seated it. I was like for xenons that shit even looks weak on camera until you fixed em. Definitely a fire change with the blacked out look and the blue ring.

Your issue with your lights can be an amp issue. Check your wiring with an Ohm meter and check if both ends have similar Amps being circulated through your bulbs.

8:05 I’ve ran into this funky output issue with projectors, this looks like focal point issue. The HID bulb has a light emitter that sits a specific distance away from the bulb base. Variation in that distance changes how the light refracts through the lenses.
A different set of bulbs might fix that issue
I’m the same way as kicks if something wrong my ocd kicks in and need to fix it right away I don’t rest till it’s fixed
You have to adjust the light sensor in the rear. Not sure if it was rear left or right but it did help a lot when I had my 2IS

I have the same issue on my new headlights and I’ve tried everything and ended up getting a whole new pair of lights and they are way brighter and better quality led lights and 6500k and 28,000 lumens and with a little adjustment it’s better and brighter than any OEM cars on the road. You just prolly need a better set of led lights with built in resistors which act like oem lights

As a Lexus owner, those tabs on the bulb are HELLA annoying to fit. I actually blew a ballast my first time changing them out because I never got the light fully tabbed in and then the ballast didn’t fully lock. Wild shit lmao

Your headlight problem is the reflector inside those projectors. Most Japanese cars of that age (mid to late 2000s) has that same problem where they were supplied with bulbs that has too much UV and it damages the surfaces inside the projector.
For Subaru the solution was to replace the bulb if the damage hasn’t been done yet. In your case Mr. Kicks, you need to replace the projectors themselves. G5-BRT/G5-R are the best ones if you wanna stay OEM style with Bi-xenons (this will be SO MUCH brighter than the OEM). Second choice would be with Bi-LED projectors but you wouldn’t be able to use your brand new Osram bulbs with those. Personally I would go for the G5-BRT/G5-R since it suits the era of the car better.
Difference between the G5-BRT and G5-R:
G5-BRT has a special coating on the lens. The effect is when the lights are off, the lens itself will look like it has a blue tint that’s only visible on certain angles. When the lights are on, the coating allows for a little bit more light intensity (~10%). The downside (or upside, depends on how you look at it) is the light beam itself will become warmer color. Maybe a decrease in color temperature of around 500K. So a 5500K bulb will now become 5000K bulb.
G5-R is basically the same projector as the BRT but without that special lens coating. This is your best bet if you want no color alteration with your light beam. A bit less intense beam but it’s really not that noticeable if you don’t have tinted front windshield.

Check your bulbs are positioned correctly bro. I had a similar issue with projector headlights & turned out my bulbs weren’t properly positioned/oriented especially if they are HID bulbs.
