    Electrical resistance does not increase amp draw, it does the opposite - deny power to the motor as resistance drops voltage proportional to the current flowing through it (Ohm's Law: volts = amps*ohms). A poor battery has high internal resistance and high gauge wire has greater resistance per given length, which also effectively lowers the voltage that the motor will 'see'.
    In order to generate the same amount of power with a lower voltage, the motor is forced to pull more current to compensate (watts = volts*amps), which means higher heat generation. Power loss calculation watts = (amps^2)*ohms shows an increase in current is exponentially bad in terms of waste heat.
    Assuming no faulty components, excessive amp draw is caused by overloading the motor whether it be on purpose (low ratio gears, heavy spring) or accidental like the scenarios mentioned in the vid. What is excessive will vary by motor, low turn count motors may pull 40A normally but high turn count motors can pull 20A or less at stall.

    If I may, I really suggest you get into brushless. I am no expert by any means, but it gives you full range to do any build. The torque of the brushless better than any other non-brushless, so the demand for torque for quick response and pulling back strong springs is negated. Warhead offers 3 speeds of motor, but no matter what speed you get, they ALL have max torque. I slapped some 13:1 gears in with their 36k motor, and my gun easily pulls an m130....at 37 rps and 460fps. Also, no heat build up during play. However, I did create a problem with premature engagement, but each issue results in gained experience once it is solved. Now I have to address the fps issue lol. 😂
    I really recommend the brushless purchase. They will come down in price eventually, but for now it answers every motor power/speed question out there.
    Thanks for the videos, my friends still play because you have taught me how to fix all their guns 🤣

    I feel you with the limitations. My buds think I'm a great tech because I've done a bunch of v.2/v.3 aegs and hpa builds. Or fixed problems on the spot by quickly taking a gearbox apart at the field.
    But you give me a fuckin m249 I'll run away. Fast.
    Lmao

      Opposite for me. I've tried several V2 and V3 for years and and don't understand why they all still sound like shit.
      The when I finished my M249, I got my AMPS to be literally Max 6.6 AMPS pull. All my other guns are like 12-15. Neo magnetic motors all from ZCI btw idk why

    Love that you said krytac despite all the misconceptions... a krytac is easy to work on and probably one of the best base guns for a DSG for that reason of you don't have to replace everything ! Changing the gear set isn't even really necessary, my favorite approach is to add a zci 9 Tooth bevel for 20:1 ratio DSG with either 16 tpa or 22 tpa. Or do same 20:1 ratio Short Stroked ssg w/ 14tpa motor.

    Awesome video man :). Question: how often do you actually play airsoft nowadays? Are you able to make time in your busy schedule for it?

    Yeah i loosened up the shimming for a little more side to side play in the gears and the motor heat dropped dramatically.

    is there rlly a need for 11.1 V when ur a semi auto player or is it better for ur motor and trigger contacts to use 7.4 and get basically same response

    I got an asg infinity motor(18k) to work really well with my stock gearbox trident spr although many people say that other motors don't usually work in krytacs

    Question: if I want to pull a sp150 spring, should I use a high torque motor and high torque gears; or should I use high torque motor and high speed gears? I have heard that high torque motor and gears are very slow. Btw this would be for a DMR build.

    • @tylasmith5994
      @tylasmith5994 3 роки тому +2

      High torque motor and standard speed gears will be best but standard torque motor and higher torque gears will also give similar results. Torque and torque is very slow as you have heard. Brushless motors are an exception to this being about to give high torque and speed at the same time but they are pricey but getting cheaper like the newly announced warhead base motor.

    Love hearing you talk about this stuff. Concise answers and it all makes a lot of sense. Another thing I've heard with working on new krytacs is that there is a ton of loctite you have to deal with. Where is it? On the gearbox screws itself and can this be dealt with heat?

    • @gconboy9418
      @gconboy9418 3 роки тому

      Gun Gamers did say something about that and I hope this can help although my spr gearbox is completely stock there has been no loctite in hop up set up or the motor ajustment or the skrew on cap thing for the motor
