- I may have failed to mention it in last weeks video, but this week we are actually on holiday, where there will be no fishing of any sort :( So with this in mind, following a decent session on the Mersey, I decided to take my remaining bait and head to a brand new mark, Talacre.

Yeah it was a good yomp mate, not one I'd take my dad to I don't think, made worse with the soft sand. Maybe snow shoes would be a good shout!

That flounder looked like a dab to me 😉
You know what! I cut a whole section out where I was debating whether it was a flounder or dab 😂 I can never get it squared away in my mind which is which. I kept thinking D in the lateral line is dab, but then it wasn't see through or rough enough to be a dab, so went with flounder 😅 I'll get it right one day 🫣

Hi Alex, park in the lighthouse car park, onlyv£3 quid and can park all night, worth paying just to keep the guy sweet mate 👍

Good session mate , talacre can be a dangerous place, only ever fish an hour after low then get off there , that tide rips in and it’s easy to get cut off , you could park in the lighthouse pub car park , costs a couple of quid and it’s a 100yds further to walk , but it doesn’t get locked , so that takes the pressure off a bit, talacre is quite local to me but I can’t be bothered with that hike , it’s three days by camel 😂,, 👍👍🤠
Any low water mark should only be fished an hour back up in my opinion purely from a safety point of view, you shouldn't ever get cut off with that rule.
Seems a good mark though, but yeah big walk! Not as big as spurn point though 🥵
@@theawfulangler Prestatyn , pensarn and a couple of other marks local to me are good low water marks and can be fished right from low to high and back, only a couple of gullies that back fill but are easy to see and avoid because the beaches aren’t as big , perfectly safe really so long as you’re aware of the tide coming in , some aren’t 😂, but generally shallow enough to get across if you do get caught out 👍👍🤠

Couple of nice fish pity about the weed.
Yeah it was a pain early on. Maybe I was just a bit eager with me having low water earlier than it was, or maybe I was over a muscle bed, not sure. But fished well for the first time on a new mark

Yove probably been told by now but you can park in the carpark next to the pub. Its always open. Not sure if you have to pay but i never do

U can stay longer that mark al I live near fish it all the time 3 hrs down 2 hours up m8 not big tides tho give us a shout nxt time will join u m8
Yeah these weren't massive tides, but certainly big enough to give a good pull. Might venture over again this week maybe. Need to sort the diary out really see what works

@@theawfulangler locally at Fleetwood, sometimes Maryport or Silloth if I fish with my dad. Going over to Hull mid October for a few days, hopefully my luck changes 🤞🏼trying all the different rigs, baits, my bait presentation is good (ish). I’d rather be out trying than restless and wishing I was out

Hahaha. I fish with a Welshman, so I get the face when I pronounce it wrong LOL. We fish all over the north Wales coast, we just keep missing the fish
@davidmorton8448 that's been the tale of my fishing this summer season. Pick the right locations just always seem to be a day or 2 either side of the hot spells.
