Top guy Alex. I should do the same and get the rods out more often and meet some new people, not that I’m short on friends. It’s the job I do and the pressure that drags me down. Tight lines.

Got the t- shirt with the head thing and was in a really dark place, I was told to read about a prisoner of war, Viktor Frankl and I started reading and practising Stoicism one man in particular was Marcus Aurelius. Still have my up and down day's but overall, I'm doing OK. Keep ya chin up Alex you'll come through it.
I'm a very stoic person myself. It bugs Sarah that I can make reasoned and sound decisions even under immense pressure. Its what got me in to the job I do today. I just think the constant pressure at the minute has wore me down a little, but like I say, I'm getting my ar$e back in gear now.
Don't go by temperature mate, the fish don't care about temeperature. Should have gone a bit further to my neck of the woods (Conwy Beach). Had a few Bass this evening amongst the Whiting and my first Bass double this week from the shore.
I was tempted to head there after mostyn and fish a couple of hours of the flood. The problem I have with that way, is that I'm straying into the 3hr+ drive home territory.
2mm dia Steel Wire, cut each end a steep angle with side cutters in about 14in lengths then bend in middle for a quick and very cheap but incredibly effective baiting tool.
Hope your ok pal stick in there theres always light at the end of the tunnel, get yourself out fishing more that sorts the head out. Good you got a few fish for all that effort though take care👊 tight lines 👍
Cheers Kevin! Like I say, nothing to worry about, just honesty. Hopefully, it will encourage someone out there open up and share that they're struggling and help them out a little.
I live in high peak area so those whiting would of made the 2 hour drive. I'm the same if I'm not 100% feeling it a can't get out but then kick myself I've missed the decent tides.
They're stiffer Richard. I wanted the option of a slightly stiffer tip for fishing rougher ground. But honestly, I only fish with the power tips now. They're still super sensitive to even the smallest knock, as you saw, but give a bit more punch in the cast.

The features are definitely there to hold a few good cod. Never know what the next bait might fetch in matey, sure you will get a few this winter
@theawfulangler well hopefully it's a better year at mersey. I've already booked some time off work for this winter. You take care of yourself m8 and keep fishing. The best thing when dealing with mental health is to do what you really like to do. Of course, it helps me a lot.
Nice one mate 👍🎣🎣
Cheers Stephen
Top guy Alex. I should do the same and get the rods out more often and meet some new people, not that I’m short on friends. It’s the job I do and the pressure that drags me down. Tight lines.
Same here Colin, but fishing gets me away from it all and I can properly switch off when out by the sea!
👍
Keep going Alex, Mostyn will produce for you I was there couple of weeks back rays and place ,off to the mersey beginning of November fingers crossed (codling)
I'm too stubborn to admit defeat Ian 🤣 any and all tips on conditions welcome though 😅
Nice one Alex 👍
Cheers Daz 👍🏼
That's pretty much what this is, then stuffed through half an old rig winder.
Enjoyed the video as usual m8t
Cheers Tommy!!
Not to good but you are out fishing relaxed fresh air doing something you love happy days nothing better cheers Clive
Fresh air and a wet line, there's no better tonic
👍next time at Mostyn, try next to the fun ship for rays
Looked down that way at low water to suss it out, so it's an option for next time
@@theawfulangler more of a 3 before and2 down mark 👍
Over high water you mean?
@@theawfulangler aye 👍so you could make a full day of it..low on the other end and high at the fun ship, spring and autumn best for the rays.
Got to make a day of it when you travel like we do mate
great medicine fishing.hope coddos turn up in mersey soon
Me too Mick, me too!
You are Alex great place to fish mate easy fishing to ,never know mite meet up one day Alex, take care for now keep your chin up.
Yeah you might see me down there at some point then mate
Brave man venturing to Lancashire
I've fished in a lot worse places haha
Are you and your dad fishing the Daiwa open this year Alex???
No, not this year, Terence.
Alex can I ask why you opted for the power tips for the 420? What's the benefit over the standard tip?
They're stiffer Richard. I wanted the option of a slightly stiffer tip for fishing rougher ground. But honestly, I only fish with the power tips now. They're still super sensitive to even the smallest knock, as you saw, but give a bit more punch in the cast.
Mersey can be a pain with lots of rainwater coming down it.
Sometimes it's just about getting out in the fresh air 👍
Exactly that nick. It was tough, but I didn't blank and got outside for the day 👌🏽
Sound young fella👏
Cheers buddy!
How are the pot holes at Mostyn, nearly removed my sump there.
They're still there, but as long as you know how to approach them I managed to get my little connect down there no bother.
No how you feel mate .suffer with same condition start walking backwards down stairs stretching your feet as you go works a treat😊
Well I've never heard that one before, but I'll give it a go! If I don't post a video for a while I'll be in A&E 🤣🤕
@@theawfulangler yes mate no how you feel .had it for years then someone said start walking down the stairs backwards. But on the way down stand on the edge of the stair tread and stretch your feet up and down worked a treat for me .oh and by the way like you're fishing vids saw the one were you fished concrete slab leatham there's a lot better places in the river than that mate 😁😉
ive got a honwave sib, and need someone to go out fishing with if yer up for it ? I live in Blackburn, near preston :)
That sounds great mate. Not sure I fancy the sib at this time of year given such changeable weather. Do you get out on it much?
as much as i can, i watch the weather, and i'm pretty confident with it and feel safe at sea, been out in 18mph winds, in the rough chop and its very stable :)@@theawfulangler
God bless us all. Not a lot tobe happy with at the moment ,except you can go fishing whenever you want . That’s something. Good viewing.
There's still a lot to be grateful for, sometimes you just need to look a little harder
👍🏼
👌🏽
