  • Well it's been almost a month since I was last out fishing. The honest reality is, I have been suffering with my mental health a little recently, so I lost the appetite to get out fishing. But I'm back, not quite with a bang, more of a slow fizzle, but I'm back.
This episode see's me out once again on the river mersey. Its a little early for me to be targeting the Cod, but with few options with he weather and tides, it was the best of a bad bunch. With fishing on the Mersey slow, I headed over to Mostyn in North Wales for the low tide to try and right some wrongs there too.
It feels great to be back out by the water, with fish on the bank. If you take one thing from this video, please PLEASE, try your best to get outside. I know for some that's harder than others. But it's honestly the best thing I can do for my mental health. Alongside that, talk to someone, even if you're not in a bad place, they might be. The biggest thing for me is trying to normalise mental health, particularly mens mental health, so I want to encourage you all to open up a little and talk to each other.
Look after each other, take care, and tight lines
    Alex!

There’s definitely been a huge increase in positive conversions around men’s mental health recently. I really enjoy watching your channel also a huge believer in talking and addressing stuff early on before you lose the ability to speak on stuff and the negative thought cycle kicks in. For me sea fishing is like non hippy meditation! Thanks again mate take it easy .

Sorry to hear that, Stevie mate. Keep talking to the professionals, mate, they deal with it day in and day out. I'm sure they will find a fix that works for you. Have you mentioned to them the toll it's taking on your mental health?

Steven I've been suffering from planter facatis for few years now. The first time it came to my right heel. Eventually the doctor referred me for a cortisone shot and to be honest it proved to be a miracle cure and the pain vanished completely within 2 weeks . However then the same pain returned in my left heel after a year. Eventually I went for another cortisone shot this time in the left heel. It hasn't worked this time the way it did for the first when administered in my right heel. Howe the pain has gone down about 50 percent. I have also seen a very good video on UA-cam from this American guy sometimes ago. He was suffering from chronic planter faciatis and got completely cured. What he show in the video was before going to bed he used to deep massage between the lower calf muscle and above the achillies tendon on the affected foot

Now that's a fish of a lifetime that. I haven't tried that far down...yet! I think this year might be a few longer trips slightly further afield. Whether that's further north or south is tbc

Great vlog as usual Alex. I have Fished there quite a few times in winter but I've never caught anything. I've even had few night sessions but to no avail. Hopefully this winter will bring few codlins for me. I fished yesterday as Seacombe ferry and one tiny whiting. Keep uploading the good work m8.

Top effort mate , long day for not a lot of a reward, ( fish wise ) but the personal rewards are priceless,, bad luck at mostyn again too, there are fish in there somewhere, I’ve caught them 😂,, the codling should show up there soon too, it’s mad how you’re not getting the rays or congers though , ( although the rays can be tricky ) try a smaller high tide , right down by the ship 6.5/7 meter tide are fishable 👍👍🤠

They're stiffer Richard. I wanted the option of a slightly stiffer tip for fishing rougher ground. But honestly, I only fish with the power tips now. They're still super sensitive to even the smallest knock, as you saw, but give a bit more punch in the cast.
