I don't think I've ever commented this but I really, really like the way you guys produce videos with switching off duties on the camera and behind the camera. That old video you did of the k20 Integra beating porches on willow springs is one of my favorite videos ever.
I own an FRS. Most people love it (look and sound etc.), some don't. But the funniest comment I get is "There's that weedwhacker" lmao. I ain't even mad. Love the car. Running the Emissions Rage exhaust from ft86sf
Just put the high boost pulley on my BRZ tS with my new built motor, planning to dyno it once the motor is broken in. Hopefully makes a world of difference
You guys are really pushing the limits on that stock FA20... They are usually not too happy for long above 8 psi or so, especially on a track set-up. Street wise you can probably get by for longer before she throws a rod. Then its time to build a new one with upgraded heads and a C38 blower that can rev up to 9k rpm! =^-^=
I’ve had the c38 kit on my BRZ for 30k -> 15k was on high boost pulley with track use. No issues related to power. Just do it right and car is happy around 300whp
7 nm is 61 inch lbs - 144 inch lbs is 16 nm so I hope that bolt needed 16 nm and not 7nm. Why wasn't the correct torque setting stated in the instructions I wonder...
I found out the black plate which bolts to the injection controller acts as a ground too. Couldn’t start the car. Then realised I had to ground it back on. Derp
Guys, I'm trying to prep my FRS for the track but I also daily it so I was wondering if you guys can give me some advice on what to mod. Only performance mod I have on my car is a full exhaust w uel headers.
It varies. Lots of people blow there stock and you get some guys who get away with high boost and no issues. I have a spare motor for mine since it is an when and not off it will go.
Is there a factory turbo subaru motor that you could interchange internals from? Would it be cheaper to go oem from that perspective or just go aftermarket
R. elentless the rotrex blowers can only spin so fast. I have a kraftwerks 8th Gen si, and I if I wanted to increase boost by adding a smaller pulley I need to lower my redline too keep the blower together. There is a rotrex calculator online to see peak blower speeds. Facts.
@@weasel81 I understand but what would be the point of that? You'd just end up with a low revving torquey engine that makes the same peak horsepower and is less reliable because you're running more boost
Hub dyno. It all makes sense now. You will be pushing 270whp on a dynojet. Pushing anything north of 300whp on pump gas is dangerous with these motors.
@@freddyflirt15 rods are the weakest part of these engines. Especially with high low end torque. Up higher in the RPMs the rods take boost better. You can generally push towards 350 hp and above depending on fuel quality, and tune or if using say high Ethanol content fuel.
Yo - 7nm doesn't equal 12ft lbs - Also.. why the heck would you need to call JR for a conversion. Not sure these ppl have graduated from any academy LOL
It's not just about the power. It's about car feel with this car and upgrading the power just makes it more fun. You only take cars for their power and that's ignant 😂
Shame toyota didn't team up with Honda to make this car. A K20 or K24 in one of these factory and I would own one... could make a reliable 400-500whp on a stock engine and not sound like ass.
Turn up the powa’ Sasha!
3lbs more, 40 whp.
Good ol Sasha, speaks softly but creates big horsepower! 💪😎🚗💨
Tried and true methods my man

I'm so happy this car is back.
Yess, can't wait to see how it feels on the track!
Would like to see you guys do a long term update on some of your older project cars.

Connie Celica and your FRS is looking real fine 👌

Gotta love the boxer. Can't hardly tell it making a Dyno pull visually
Looks like a really nice pulley

Gotta get more involved with saying evolved injection.
Power up the Civic too, can’t have the FRS pulling ahead now lol
Put some resonators in that thing lol I think the exhaust sound better when you have the stock resonator and secondary cat in
Wouldn't you need to replace the injector cover on the driver side? This one serves as shared grounding with the DI ECU
I like the 86, but it sounds horrible...
Gerard Joaquino it all depends on the exhaust set up. I have one and get complements all the time.
I love it though

The metal protection for injectors... how much it weighs?
get that BOOST BOI!
How many mm is the high boost pulley? And what the stock crank pulley is? And is the c-30 at its max impeller speed with the HB pulley?
can you show a pic of your oil system routing idk if mines routed correctly
How is this brz holding up with the hbp and 91?

why did you guys go with jackson instead of kraftwerkz?
was this tune on the car during the SA lapping club day?

Should have lubed up the O-rings on the new injectors.
Definitely. I know 2 people that had their cars burn to their frames, after doing engine rebuilds, and not installing the injector o-rings properly.
Dammm that is a nice gain!!! Also what brand inch torque wrench you guys have??
Man, I wish I knew what gas you guys were using.
needs a built motor, gtx3071r and 20psi
So, why you guys all wearing T-shirts? It is summer time in Canada?
Was this on stock internals and is it reliable?
I’m having problems starting my car I have to pump the gas to start it. My injectors is 1300 cc are they to big
Yes. You generally don't need higher than 450 to 700. People often use 1000 for ease of scalability and higher power in built engines.

Equal Length headers, proper tune, proper maintenance, good tyres and suspension.
Are you guys using sunoco 94 octane gas? and which gas grade did you tune with before? congrats on the 40 more HP!
Holy dawgshit!! I run my Volvo on 93. LuLz
What this mod do to the MPG?
Is this build engine or stock engine?
Are those injectors where the Scion squeak comes from?
Are you referring to the chirping sound? That is actually the high pressure fuel pump. It's commonly referred to as the 'crickets'
Why not raising the RPM?
To keep the engine going longer before it eventually blows. Not sure how high you can rev on stock oil pump
12ft lb? thats 16nm not 70...I am confuse
Why didn't they make the unit with this pulley in first place?
Because not everybody is interested in blowing the guts outta' their stock block.

That sort of defeats the point of putting a smaller pulley on the car
